Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 24, 2001, John Dennis Gilbert, Jr., retired Manager in Furniture Sales, husband of Mamie Fogle Gilbert. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Dennis Gilbert, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel Monday at 11 o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Sunday between 4 and 6 o'clock.Mr. Gilbert was born December 7, 1915 in Washington, Ga., a son of John Dennis Gilbert, Sr. and Harriet Snipes Gilbert. He attended Citadel Square Baptist church and was a Life member both of the Lions International and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks.He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one son, John Gilbert, III of Charleston, SC.; three daughters, Joan Ross of Lodi, Cal., Jane Wisor of Germantown, Md., Sally Wiggins of Moncks Corner, SC.; two brothers, William C. Gilbert of Jacksonville, Fla., and Warren Gilbert of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Dorothy Houser and Laura Hensler both of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the SC Lions Eye Bank, Inc., 167 Ashley Ave., Charleston, SC 29425.

TURNER, Samuel
Samuel Marvin Turner, 86, of Hanahan, a retired architect with the Southern Division Engineering Command of the U.S. Navy, died Sunday in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Born in Piedmont, he was the son of John Henry Turner and Maggie Layton Turner. Mr. Turner was a Mason. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Edwards Turner; a daughter, Jeanette Johnson of North Charleston; sons, Philip E. Turner of Goose Creek and Samuel M. Turner, Jr. of Hanahan; a sister, Margaret Burdette of Greenville; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the Kidney Foundation.

SILER, III, Julius
Julius Grady Siler, III, 77, of Summerville, S.C., died Saturday, November 24, 2001 at a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be held at Dorchester Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2001 at 2 o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dorchester Presbyterian Church, 10290 Dorchester Road, Summerville, S.C. 29485.
Mr. Siler was born on July 25, 1924 in Highlands, N.C., a son of the late Julius G. Siler, Jr. and Mary Wilbanks Siler. He graduated from N.C. State and was a retired Mechanical Engineer for DuPont. He was a member of Dorchester Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Isabel Cowley Siler of Summerville; two sons, Charles Siler of Summerville and Julius G. Siler, IV of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Peter V. Hall of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Mrs. Robert Hoffmann of Luxembourg, Europe; two sisters, Mrs. Robert White of Wilmington, N.C. and Mrs. C.J. Schenck of Live Oak, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

FORSYTH, Charles
Entered into eternal rest on Friday evening, November 23, 2001, Charles James Forsyth. Residence: Oak Island, North Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial services in Peacock-Newnam Funeral Home; Southport, North Carolina, on Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2001 at 1 o'clock. Mr. Forsyth was born on April 6, 1942 in Moore County, North Carolina, a son of the late Lennox "Slim" Forsyth and Mary Ellen Sadler Forsyth. He was a graduate of Southern Pines High School and received his degree in meteorology from Indiana University. Mr. Forsyth retired from the United States Navy in 1988, after serving for 25 years. He was a Vietnam veteran and achieved the rank of Command Master Chief Petty Officer. He was currently employed as a 911 dispatcher for Hanover County, North Carolina.
Surviving are his three sons, Robert Lennox Forsyth of Silver Springs, Maryland, Mark McQueen Forsyth and Matthew Lindsey Forsyth, both of Charleston, South Carolina; one sister, Jill Forsyth of Atlanta, Georgia and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, P.O. Box 212634, Columbia, S.C. 29221.

BRINSON, Angela
Angela Lambert Brinson, 56, of Macedonia, a retired quality control supervisor with Oneita Manufacturing, died Saturday at a Moncks Corner hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in Brinson Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Brinson was born, July 10, 1945, at Georgetown County, a daughter of Luther L. Lambert and Mildred Cooper Lambert. She was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Matthew J. Brinson of Macedonia; mother of Lamberttown, S.C.; son, Kenneth Wayne Brinson of Macedonia; three step-sons, Timothy Brinson, Matthew Brinson and Billy Brinson, all of Macedonia; step-daughter, Annette B. Smith of Macedonia; sister, Della Ann Jones of Moncks Corner; two brothers, Larry L. Lambert of Andrews; Dennis E. Lambert of Jamestown, seven grandchildren.

PEEPLES, Manley
EARLY BRANCH - Mr. Manley Routh Peeples, 86, of Pocataligo Road in Early Branch, died Saturday night at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Peeples was born in Hampton County, September 25, 1915, a son of the late Walton and Mamie Sue Smith Peeples. He had retired from the Maintenance Dept. as a Machinist Technician at the Celenese Corp. in Rock Hill. Mr. Peeples served in the Army Airborne Forces during World War II, receiving the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star Medals. He received these Medals for gallantry in action on January 5, 1945, near Arbrefontaine, Belgium. The heroic conduct of Sergeant Peeples was above and beyond the call of duty and worthy of emulation and reflects the highest credit on the Airborne Forces of the United States Army. Mr. Peeples was a member of the Sand Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are, his wife, Virgie Mixson Peeples of Early Branch; one brother, Fred W. Peeples of Early Branch; special sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn M. and Jackey Hughes of Cummings; special niece, Teresa Clement; special nephews, Daniel and Kenny Hughes; three great-nephews; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, conducted by Rev. Barney Tuten, with burial in the Sand Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, and Tuesday, until the hour of services.

OLIVER, Anne
LYNCHBURG, S.C. - Anne Graham Oliver, 81, wife of 60 years to Dr. Benjamin Mondsie Oliver, died Saturday, November 24, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Oliver was a daughter of the late Vibert Wigfall Graham and the late Anne Celeste Chandler Graham of the Cedar Swamp Community in Williamsburg County.
She was a graduate of University High School in Columbia, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Providence Hospital in Columbia. She was the owner and operator of Lynchburg Drug Sundries for many years.
Survivors besides her husband of Lynchburg include a son, Benjamin Mondsie Oliver, III, and his wife, Pam A. Oliver of Oswego; two daughters, Anne Celeste Phillips of Charleston and Martha Evelyn Alston and her husband, Rowland Poole Alston, Jr., of Rembert; three grandsons, Michael David Oliver, Rowland Poole Alston, III, and Graham Woods Phillips; a sister, Evelyn Graham Kilby and her husband, Harry Kilby of Costa Mesa, Calif.; a former daughter-in-law, Pam Wells Oliver; and former son-in-law, Alan Woods Phillips.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Oswego with Rev. Howard Sweat, Rev. Michael Henderson, and Rev. Jim Ridenhour officiating.
The family will receive friends in the sanctuary following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Lynchburg United Methodist Church, Lynchburg, S.C. 29080 or Bethel United Methodist Church, Sumter, S.C. 29153.

THOMPSON, Willie Lee
WILLIAMS, S.C. - Willie Lee Thompson, 57, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001, in New York.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2001, in Evergreen Baptist Church, Williams, S.C. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Gardens, Ruffin, S.C.
Mr. Thompson was born in Williams, S.C. and was the son of Willis Thompson and the late Edith Redish Thompson. He graduated from Ruffin High School in 1962 and shortly after moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. and was employed with the Department of Social Services.
Surviving are three daughters, Theresa Evans (Brian), LaFrance Washington and Maezella Johnson; his father, Willis Thompson; one brother, Larry Thompson (Ann); eight grandchildren; five aunts and uncles, Alma and Henry Drakeford, Donnie and David Walker, Margie and William Jordan, Mary and David Smith; Ollie and Jacob Tingman.

MURDAUGH, Michael
Michael Allen "Mike" Murdaugh, 40, of Summerville, died Sunday morning at his residence.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at 10 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Walterboro.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Mr. Murdaugh was born on July 19, 1961 in Warner Robins, Ga., a son of Rev. Cecil W. Murdaugh and the late Maxey Grey Smoak Murdaugh Carroll.
Mr. Murdaugh won a gold and bronze medal in the Special Olympics.
Surviving are his father and step-mother, Rev. Cecil and Edna L. Murdaugh of Walterboro and a sister, Karen A. Huffman of Summerville.

Mrs. Benton was born March 15, 1913 in Walterboro, S.C., a daughter of Allen Groves and Carolina Driggers Groves. She was a member of the Nazarene Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Grubbs and Inette Stiles both of Moncks Corner, S.C.; two sons, Edris Benton, Jr. and Allen Benton both of North Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Inez Dawsey and Delorce Colson both of Johns Island, S.C.; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

RODGERS, Elizabeth
Elizabeth C. Rodgers, 59, of Goose Creek passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2001, at a local hospital. Born in Negros, OCC in the Philippines to the late Benito and Lucia Martinez Cutimer. Mrs. Rodgers attended the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Surviving Mrs. Rodgers is her husband, Norman H. Rodgers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Rufina Lane of Goose Creek; four sons, Norman Rodgers, Melchor Rodgers, Nathaniel Rodgers all of Goose Creek and Alexander Rodgers of Hanahan; two brothers, Melchor Cutimer and Pacifico Cutimer both of the Philippines, and a sister, Mrs. Rogelia Wood of Washington state. Also surviving Mrs. Rodgers are five grandchildren, Tiera, Kimberly, Anjioulet, AnnaMarie and Anthony. The family will receive friends from 6-10 p.m. Monday, and a Vigil Serivce will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2001 at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 27 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 120 Broad St., Charleston. Burial will be at a later date in the Philippines.
