Jack Andrew Valos II, 56, died Nov. 19, 2001.
Jack was employed as the general manager of Dixie Box and Crating in Charleston, S.C., Houston, Texas, and most recently in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack A. Valos, of Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Collins Valos of Ft. Lauderdale; daughter Stasi York and her husband Jeff, daughter Courtney Valos, all of Richmond; his mother, Garnet Valos, of Norfolk; a brother, Bill Valos, of Chesapeake; and two sisters, Sharon Shearin of Norfolk and Ginny Vaughan of Ft. Worth.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Unity Church of Tidewater, 5580 Shell Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. Joyce Kramer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Unity Church or the Boy Scouts of America.
DALE, Hugh
Mr. Hugh Chisolm Dale, 90, a resident of Camden, Ala., died Friday, November 23, 2001, in a Camden hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2001, at 2 p.m., from the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Camden, with Pastor Henry Lewis Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Camden City Cemetery. DUNKLIN-HERNDON FUNERAL HOME of Camden directing.
Mr. Dale was born October 26, 1911, in Camden, Ala. He was the only child of Lillie Chisolm and Hugh Henry Dale. He was married August 20, 1938, to Margaret Isabel Ware.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Isabel Ware Dale; children, Mrs. William B. Austin, Jr., (Carol) of Summerville, S.C., and Jane Shelton Dale of Camden, Ala.; grandchildren, William Benton Austin, III (Kristie) of Suwanee, Ga., and Dale Ware Austin of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, William Benton Austin, IV, and Brooke Garnet Austin of Suwanee, Ga.
He was educated at Wilcox County High School in 1929, Valedictorian, Erskine College, A.B. 1932, Cum Laude (Alumni Distinguished Service Award, 1972) and Columbia University, M.A. Chemistry, 1935. He was employed from 1932-1942 as a school teacher in Forest Home, Ala., Greenwood, S.C., Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta, Ga. From 1942-1946, United States Army (WWII Veteran). From 1951-1973, Camden National Bank, (Retired as Senior Vice-President), and served on the Board of Directors until his death (Emeritus). Mr. Dale was an Elder at the ARP Church, Camden, Ala., and Treasurer of Camden ARP Church from 1953-1986, serving 33 years. His civic involvement included Camden Exchange Club as an active member since 1952 (Recipient of the Book of Golden Deeds Award, 1994), and the American Legion Post #84 as a life member.

Frances Hope Woodruff White, 76 of Edisto Beach, SC and a native of Wilkes County, NC., died Saturday, November 17, 2001 in a Charleston, SC hospital. Private services have been arranged at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
A registered nurse, Mrs. White was born August 29, 1925 in Wilkes County, a daughter of William D. and Elizabeth Hope Woodruff. A member of the Trinity Episcopal Church on Edisto Beach, she was the widow of Edwin C. White.
She is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Cox of Cornelius, N.C., and Sue Hardwick of Charlotte, N.C., and her brother, William David Woodruff of Fredericksburg, VA.

KUSAILA, Charlotte
Charlotte Young, 80 widow of Joseph Kusaila, died November 25, 2001 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Kusaila was born in Atlanta, Georgia April 2, 1921. She worked as a paralegal in a Connecticut law office. During her early years she worked as an overseas correspondent serving in Germany. She worked in the Underground Railroad assisting many to escape Nazi Germany. Funeral arrangements will be private and at a later date. Mrs. Kusaila is pre-deceased by a son Joel Y. W. Kusaila.
Survivors include: one son, Jared T.B. Kusaila and his wife, Vicki of Houston, Texas, one daughter, Joanna A. He was musician and leader of Neal Floyd & The Common People Band, Hunter & Fisherman. He was a member of Hamilton Masonic Lodge and past member of Goose Creek American Legion Post #166. He was a retired painter with Charleston Air Force Base. He was a member of Heritage Holiness Church.

Rodgers of Melbourne, Fl, a daughter, Rufina Lane of Goose Creek; four sons, Norman Rodgers of Fort Lauderdale, Melchor Rodgers and Nathaniel Rodgers both of Goose Creek and Alexander Rodgers of Hanahan; two brothers, Melchor Cutimar and Pacifico Cutimar, both of the Philippines, and her sister, Mrs. Rogelia Wood of Washington State. She was a graduate of the University of Dayton, Ohio. She devoted her life in helping others along with enjoying her teaching career. She was dedicated in assisting the Pan Slav Orthodox immigrating to America.
Surviving are her husband, Feodor M. Selelyo of North Charleston, S.C.; 3 sisters, Rita Mary Szilagy, Joanne Lucy Goddar and Caroline Ann Guenther; 2 brothers, Raymond Alfred Breitenstein and John Joseph Breitenstein. THOMPSON, Gloria
Gloria (Gogi) Davis Thompson, 61, of Weddington, N.C., and Kiawah Island, S.C., passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at a North Carolina hospital.
Born July 21, 1940, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late Earl Francis Davis and Opal Walker Davis. In 1959, she assisted her husband, Edward E. Thompson, in beginning what is now Prestige Farms and was very involved in the business during its early years.
Mrs. Thompson had a special love for the Lord; her grandchildren; her church, First Baptist Church of Weddington; and her pastor, Reverend Bill Fogarty; however, her love and generosity extended to many. She gave generously to churches and charities of West Charlotte where she grew up. She also loved big Christmases and shopping at Crossroads with her friends, Loretta Ponder and Harriet Belk, and best friend, Alice Pettus.
She is also remembered for her unique sense of humor and her love for decorating her house and arranging her flowers.
During the past three years, Mrs. Thompson has courageously fought a battle with scleroderma and kidney disease. Again, she thought of others and extended her generosity by giving parties for the nurses and her fellow patients. Her courageous fight proved to be an inspiration. Her family, as well as all who met her, felt blessed by her wonderful spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Edward E. Thompson; and four sons, Randall E. Thompson and his wife, Ruth of Weddington, Christopher L. Thompson and his wife, Leann of Dallas, N.C., Donald W. Thompson, and Edward Derek Thompson and his wife, Regina, all of Weddington.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Gam Gam," Christopher, Adam, Drew, Brittany, Eddie, Bailey, and Hallie; two sisters, Barbara Dale Rudisell and Frances Ann Davis, both of Charlotte; and her godchildren, Melanie Hudson, Timothy Pettus, and Christopher Pettus.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Thompson's life will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, November 29, at First Baptist of Weddington with her pastor, the Reverend Bill Fogarty, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel.

MURRELLS INLET - Winnie Bell LeGette Strickland, age 78, of Murrells Inlet, died Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at a Georgetown hospital.
Born August 17, 1923, in Rains-Centenary, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Willie Blue and Exa Mae Crawford LeGette. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel L. Strickland, Sr., a daughter, Linda Bell Cook and a grandson, Daniel Strickland.
Surviving are three sons, Lemuel L. "Bug" Strickland, Jr., and Wayne Strickland both of Murrells Inlet and Billy Strickland of St. Delight; two daughters, Janie S. Gause of Surfside Beach and Debbie Strickland of Murrells Inlet; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a dear friend, Lottie Point of Pawleys Island.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, at Belin Memorial Cemetery.
