Reinhardt, Katherine

DEMOREST, Ga. - Katherine "Katie" Wyke Reinhardt, 98, of Mulkey Road died Monday, April 2, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Habersham County, she was a homemaker, and a member of the Non-Denominational Church.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was the widow of Enoch Reinhardt and the daughter of the late Jacob W. and Sally Jones Wyke. She was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest; burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to the Habersham County American Cancer Society, c/o Scarlett Whelchel 4050 Ga. 115, Demorest, Ga. 30535.

Wheeler, Charlotte

TOCCOA, Ga. - Charlotte Edith Breazeale Wheeler, 75, of 626 S. Sage St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Oconee County, she was a retired beautician and a member of the Trinity CME Church, Toccoa.

Surviving are daughter, Alfreedia W. Solomon of Naples, Fla.; son, Joseph Wheeler of the home; sisters, Mary Jolly and Josephine Miller, both of Montezuma, Virginian Kay, Ethel Grant and Nellie Williamson, all of Westminster; and brothers, Judge Breazeale of Cleveland, Ohio, and Albert Breazeale of Seneca.

She was the widow of Willie Wheeler and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Judge Breazeale.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity C.M.E. Church, Toccoa, with Dr. Robert Green; burial will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens. The body is at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home, Toccoa, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family is at the home.

Whitfield, Chevis L. 'Chick'

Chevis L. "Chick" Whitfield, of Anderson, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the Hospice House, Anderson. Funeral arrangements will be announced by The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson.

Wiggins, Rose Childs

EASLEY - Rose Childs Wiggins, 93, formerly of Easley and Anderson, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Cincinnati.
Born in Anderson, she was formerly a member of Orrville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are sons, Roy D. Wiggins Jr. of Oklahoma and Walter B. Wiggins of New Jersey; daughter, Linda W. Poe of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Roy Daniel Wiggins and the daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Presley Childs. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Waters; eight brothers and sisters.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Easley, by the Rev. John Callahan; burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.

Williams, Corine

Corine G. Williams, 75, of 2035 Scarborough Road, Anderson, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was retired from School District #5, and Anderson Health Care Center. She attended the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Cora Lee Knight, Sandra Gail Williams, Jacqueline Williams Brown, Marilyn Williams Boseman, and Frances Burnette Williams, all of Anderson; sons, Fred Williams, Jessie Nathaniel Williams, Jerome William and Wallace Ervin Williams, all of Anderson, and Bobby Donnell Williams of Long Beach, Calif.; sister, Minister Pauline Rice of Anderson; brother, William Gambrell of Anderson; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Willie Ervin Williams and the daughter of the late Jessie and Leuner Sullivan Gambrell.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church; interment will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation was held from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The family is at the home.

Johnson Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge of arrangements.

Winn, Weldon

HARTWELL, Ga. - George Weldon Winn, 82, of 478 E. Johnson St. died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hart County, he was retired from Hart County EMC with 25 years of service as a right-a-way foreman. He was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, and the Wallace White Sunday school class. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are widow, Sara Nelms Winn of the home; son, Ronnie Weldon Winn of Hartwell; and sisters, Bonnie Esposito of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Doris Brown of Hartwell.

He was the son of the late Guy Winn and Anabel Harris Winn.

Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park by the Rev. Jan Devereaux. The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The family is at the home.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church New Bus Fund, 200 E. Howell St., Hartwell, Ga. 30643.

Wright, Mabel

WILLIAMSTON - Mabel Olivia Wright, of 213-A Mauldin St. died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Easley.
Born in Anderson County, she was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara Campbell of the home, Brenda Williford of Williamston, Sarah Arnold of Anderson and Wanda Sanders of Greenville; sisters Eddis Norris and Martha Ann Henry, both of Charlotte, N.C., Ruth McBright of Detroit, Mich., Shirley Mae Wright of Chicago, Ill., and Lue Ree Wright of Greenville; brother, Leroy Wright of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Sam Wright and Minnie Mae Green Wright Sanders. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Watson; and a son, J.C. Campbell.

Services are at 4 p.m. Thursday at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Williamston, with Dr. N.P. Pearson, assisted by the Rev. Clinton Canty; interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Thursday. There will be no wake.

The family is at the home.

The Unity Mortuary, Williamston, is in charge of arrangements.

Beaty, Bertha

MCCORMICK - Bertha Plantin Beaty, 94, of 1 Holiday Road, formerly of 1413 Benjamin St., Anderson, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at McCormick Health Care.
Born in Anderson County, she was a member of Mountain Spring Baptist Church.

She was the widow of O.C. Beaty and the daughter of the late John and Ola Asbury Plantin. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bessie, Leslie, Georgia and Rosella; and four brothers, John, James, Marcelle and Ruthell.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Spring Baptist Church; burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Johnson Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The family is at the home of her niece, Johnnie Johnson, 5401 Slater Road, Anderson.

Blasingame, Edna

TOCCOA, Ga. - Edna Mize Blasingame, 83, of 238 Valley Road died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the Cary Care Center.
Born in Banks County, she had lived a number of years in Atlanta and most of her life in Toccoa. She was a graduate of Arnoldsville High School. She was employed with Baptist Book Store in Atlanta for more than 12 years. She was a member of the Toccoa First Baptist Church, the Truth Seekers Sunday school class, served in many positions in the church including director of the Youth People's Training Union, director of the beginner Sunday school department, teacher of Junior Girls Sunday school, director of Vacation Bible school, director of Women's Missionary Union, WMU leader, helped organize the XYZ senior citizens luncheon, served for many years on the Church Grounds Committee and helped in the mission of the church in organizing Northside Baptist Church. In May of 1993, she was honored by the First Baptist Church as Church Woman of the year. She was former president of Big A School PTA and member of the Toccoa Garden Club.

Surviving are widower, Truman Blasingame of the home; son, Woody Blasingame of Toccoa; and a sister, Sallie Mize Rochester of Atlanta.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Ida Wilson Mize.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Henry Fields and Rev. Dr. Jim Nelson; burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa.

The family is at the home.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Chapel Fund, 601 E. Tugalo St., Toccoa, Ga. 30577.

Cathey, Beulah

CLAYTON, Ga. - Beulah Bowers Cathey, 91, of North Scruggs Street, Mount City, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Heritage Home Health Care Center, Athens.
Born in Rabun County, she was a retired school teacher, having taught for 39 years. She was a member of the Blue Heights Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was Training Union Director for the Baptist Churches of Rabun County for a number of years. She was honored for teaching skills and her years of service at her retirement.

Surviving are son, Bill Cathey of Cincinnati; a sister, Dorothy Cannon of Clayton; and three grandchildren.

She was the widow of Nelson Cathey and the daughter of the late Charles Fred Bowers and Sarah Houston Bowers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Madge Cathey.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Blue Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Danny Cannon, layman Lloyd Hunter and Jimmy Law; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Cooper, Sybil Kay

Sybil Kay Cooper, 72, of 134 Edison Drive, Anderson, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Riverside Nursing Center.
Born in Anderson, she was a Holiness and was retired from Orr-Lyons Mill.

Surviving are daughter, Connio Ballard of the home; sisters, Edna Stewart and Beth Stowe, both of Anderson; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of C.T. Cooper and the daughter of the late Truman Kay and Emily Haynes Kay. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Kay; and two sisters, Mildred Roberson and Frankie Gilreath.

Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Silverbrook Cemetery, Anderson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of her grandson, Tim Bobo, 2515 Rolling Green, Anderson.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 600 N. Main St., Suite 2, Greer, S.C. 29650.

Crawford, Mattie Blake

CORNELIA, Ga. - Mattie Blake (Matsy) Holdt Crawford, 80, of Cornelia died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Althea Thomas in Davie, Fla.
Surviving are son, Alan B. Crawford of Cornelia; daughter, Althea Thomas of Davie, Fla.; brothers, Arthur E. Holdt of Naples, Fla., and Robert J. Holdt of Demorest; one grandson; and one granddaughter.

She was the widow of Stranleigh B. Crawford.

Memorial services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia; burial will be in Demorest City Cemetery.
