CROSS, S.C. - Mr. Tyrone Singleton, 33, died Sunday, December 9, 2001, at a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 14, 2001, 1 p.m., at Zion United Methodist Church, Cross, S.C. Rev. Wendell Sumpter will officiate. Burial in Immanuel R.E. Cemetery, Cross, S.C. EUTAWVILLE COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Singleton, the son of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Ruthie M. Singleton, was born on February 8, 1968, in Berkeley County, S.C. He grew up in Berkeley and received his education there. He was a graduate of Cross High School in 1986. He graduated from Benedict College in Columbia, S.C., where he received his bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism. He was an announcer on WXTC 1390 AM and WMGL 101.7 FM. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, manager for Crystal Brown Youth Chorus, founder of Singleton Choral and a member of Charleston United for Christ (CUFC), and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Survivors include, his parents of Cross, S.C., three sisters, Yvonne Wilson, Roberta Levine and Annette (Clifford) Drayton, all of Cross, S.C., two brothers, Anthony (Virginia) Singleton of Cross, S.C., and Rickey Singleton of Irvington, N.J., five aunts and one uncle, and two Godchildren.

ETHRIDGE, Maude
GEORGETOWN - Maude Davis Ethridge, 84, widow of Fred Ethridge, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at a Charleston hospital.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Friday December 14, 2001, at Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Burial directed by Andrews Chapel of MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME, will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Thursday evening, December 13, 2001, at Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ethridge was born October 8, 1917, in Georgetown County, a daughter of Thomas Ervin Davis and Isla Mae Davis. She was educated in Georgetown County, and was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Ervin Davis, Jr. and James G. Davis.
Surviving are; five sons, Sid Ethridge, Franklin (Toby) Ethridge, and Cecil (Bucky) Ethridge, all of Georgetown; Fred A. Ethridge, and Thomas Ed Lewis, both of Montgomery, Indiana; one daughter, Patricia Timmons of Bonneau; one brother, Ervin Davis, Jr. of Andrews; five sisters, Bernice Martin, Dorothy Jacobs, Mary Alice Matthews and Vernie Mercer, all of Georgetown; Mollie Davis, of Andrews; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
ROBINSON, Donald
Robinson Donald J. , 72, a decorated Korean War veteran died Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at a local hospital. Born May 3, 1929 in Front Royal, VA he was the son of Elbert M. and Ellen Odessa Robinson (nee Derflinger). Mr. Robinson served in the US Army, 1948-1952, and US Air Force, 1952-1953. During the Korean War he was awarded the Korean Service medal and the United Nations Medal. Following his military service he was a civil service employee. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Goose Creek. His wife Mary E. Robinson, son Donald E. Robinson and brother James Robinson preceded him in death. He is survived by his three daughters Barbara Sullivan, Goose Creek, Ellen Toepfer, Hope Mills, NC, and Debbie Robinson, Fredericksburg, VA; four brothers: Howard Robinson, Canada, William Robinson, Akron, OH, Charles Robinson and Leroy Robinson, both of Collinsville, IL; four sisters: Gay Horvati, Akron, OH, Betty Morris and Helen Knave, both of Front Royal, VA and Mary Bussey, Blanchard, OK; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and companion Melissa Bunch, Goose Creek. Graveside services with military honors will be held 12 noon Friday, December 14, 2001 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. HUGHES, Sarah
Mrs. Sarah E. Hughes, of Newberry, widow of Patrick L. Hughes, died December 12, 2001.
Born in Marlboro County, Mrs. Hughes was a daughter of the late Charlie and Hattie Herndon Adams. She was a retired Registered nurse with Dr. E. J. Dickert and a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Callie Thomas Circle.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by a son, Louis Hughes of Charleston, and a daughter, Jeannie Hughes of Newberry.
She was predeceased by a brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to Newberry County Council on Aging, 1300 Hunt St., Newberry, S.C. or to the Folk Unit of J. F. Hawkins Nursing Center, 1330 Kinard St., Newberry, S.C. 29108.

FORD, James
James Andrew Ford, 34, of Hilton Head Island died Monday at his home.
He was born on July 5, 1967 in Atlanta, Ga. and is the son of James L. and Valerie Smith Ford of Hilton Head Island. He moved to Hilton Head Island in 1999 from Atlanta.
He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was an avid sportsman.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother Bryan Patrick Ford of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister Adrienne Leigh Ford of Charlotte, N.C.; his maternal grandmother Lois S. Ford of Huntingtown, Md. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrews Chapel, Pinckney Colony, Bluffton, S.C. where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton with Rev. H. Gregory West officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Bluffton.

Lydia Vierra Hughes, Charleston, S.C., died Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at a local hospital.
Lydia was born January 17, 1926 at Fort Moultrie, S.C. She was the beloved wife of Arthur T. Hughes and loving mother of Artie of Columbia, S.C., Mike of Charleston, S.C., and David of Raleigh, N.C., and grandmother of Emily, Catherine, Lindsey, Lauren, Caroline, Lisa, and Brian.
Lydia was a life member of Old St. Andrews Episcopal Church and a Daughter of the King.

SIMONDS, Albert, Jr.
Albert Rhett Simonds, Jr, 58, a native of Charleston, recently living in Alexandria, Virginia, died Monday, December 10, 2001.
He was an attorney and a partner in a Washington, DC law firm. He grew up in Charleston, was a graduate of Porter Gaud School, as well as the University of North Carolina and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He enjoyed sail boat racing and was a member of The Carolina Yacht Club.
Married to Celeste Simonds, he has two daughters, Caroline Simonds and Frances Simonds. Funeral services to be held at the Episcopal Church, Alexandria, Virginia at a later date.

HARTMAN, Katherine
Katherine M. Hartman (nee Brodnax) born May 24, 1922 in Dallas, Tex. and died December 10, 2001. Mrs. Hartman graduated Forest Avenue High School of Dallas in 1939. In the late 30's and early 40's, she was a professional musician and performed with the E.T. Ranch Girls throughout Texas and on live radio. On November 8, 1942, she married William L. Hartman, Jr., in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew George Brodnax and Winnie Lee Flanagan and her brother, George Brodnax. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, one brother, Harry Brodnax, 8 children, Lois Ruggiero, Juanita Mitchell, David Hartman, Rita Yeakley, Molly Oxford, Donna Herrington, Sally Guzman and Joseph Hartman, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dr. Saleem N. Saleeby Jr. 67, died Sunday, December 9, 2001, at his residence.
He was born March 20, 1934, in Dillon, SC a son of Essie Moody Saleeby and the late S.N. Saleeby, Sr.
Dr. Saleeby was a graduate of the Citadel and the University of Virginia school of Medicine and Dentistry. He was a member of American Dental Association, Horry County Dental Society, First Presbyterian Church for 27 years, former member of the Civitans Club, a volunteer with S.O.S., and served in the United States Air Force as a Captain.
Survivors include his wife, Christine A. Jetmar-Saleeby of the home, his mother, of North Myrtle Beach, a son, Dale Saleeby of Dallas, TX, four step-children, Carlton Hamilton of Monroe, NC, Thomas Hamilton of Myrtle Beach, James Jetmar of Ferrun, VA, Teresa Jetmar of West Orange, NJ, a brother, Charles W. Saleeby of Hendersonville, NC, a sister, Barbara Maples of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlotte, NC, and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Hubster, widower of the late Lennis S. Hubster, died Thursday, December 13, 2001. Born in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Ernest and Louise Glover Hubster. Formerly of Walterboro, he was a resident here since 1995. He was a member of Bethel Methodist in Walterboro, and was self-employed at Hubster Veterinary. He was a graduate of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hubster was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Ernest and Glover Hubster, and Edna, Agnes, and Rosa Lee.

Aleen Elizabeth Mizell Huff, 58, of Moncks Corner, died Thursday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. Interment will be in Mizell Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Huff was born February 3, 1943 at Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Nephi M. Mizell and Lottie Peagler Mizell. She was a Baptist. She was a grateful wife and a loving mother of three children and a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren. She has left a mark with everyone she has come in touch with. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Surviving are her husband, George J. Huff, Sr. of Moncks Corner; mother of Moncks Corner; two sons, Jeff Huff and George J. Huff, Jr. both of Moncks Corner; daughter, Marie H. Walker of Summerville; brother, Levi Mizell of St. George; sister, Doris M.
