CAMERON - Charles N. B. Griffin, 62, of 8383 Old State Road, Cameron died Thursday at his residence.

Mr. Griffin was born in Orangeburg County a son of Mrs. Bessie Martin Griffin and the late Nancy B. Griffin. He was a 1958 graduate of Holly Hill High School. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, and retired as Postmaster in Cameron. He was a member of The National League of Postmasters, and was a member of Cameron Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother of Santee; wife, Emily Birchmore Griffin of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Colie Morse (Melinda) Crosby of North Charleston; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wayne (Karen) Griffin of Dublin, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Homer (Ruth) Strock of Elloree, Mrs. James L. Mrs. White was born in Mount Pleasant, S.C., a daughter of James Edward Coleman, Sr., and Emily Freeman Coleman. She was the widow of James W. White, Jr., who served in the Pacific theatre during World War II. Mrs. White was a lifetime resident of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and she took pride in having lived on the same street in the Village for 86 of her 87 years. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She was salutatorian of the Memminger High School graduating class of 1933.
Surviving are three sons, James W. White, III, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Edward R. White and his wife, Bonnie of Norfolk, Va., and Francis C. White of Mount Pleasant, S.C., one daughter, Mary Emily W. Felber of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and one grandson, Jordan C. Felber, of James Island, S.C. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ross Edmondston Coleman, James Edward Coleman, Jr., James Oswald Coleman, and Francis F. Coleman, who served as a former Mayor of Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Catherine Finegan Smith died December 12, 2001. She was born in Charleston, S.C., on October 18, 1914, the daughter of the late Daniel Edward Finegan and the late Margaret Dunn Finegan. Graduate of Bishop England High School, she attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a retired Medical Secretary. She was a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church, AARP, John Ancrum SPCA, and TROA. She was the widow of Thorwald Danielsen, James E. Godwin and Donald Dean Smith, Sr. She is survived by sons Donald D. Smith, Jr. and his wife LaVerne, Nome, Alaska; Daniel J. Danielsen, Columbia, S.C.; and Thorwald E. Danielsen, Kansas City, Missouri. She was predeceased by son Robert M. Godwin and brother Daniel E. Finegan. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., December 15, 2001, at Stella Maris Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Mrs. Lemley was born December 9, 1932, in Burlington, North Carolina, a daughter of Willis R. Everheart and Edith Virginia B. Everheart. She was educated in Burlington County, and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Willie J. Lemley of Garden City, are; four sons, Steven C. Lemley, Billy Jo Lemley and Tony L. Lemley, all of Lexington, North Carolina; Toby J. Lemley of Garden City; a brother, Willie R. Everheart of Lexington, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.

Mr. Wallace was born on December 19, 1923, in Washington, D.C., a son of Ruben Staten and Mary Keene Wallace. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he later served in the Navy. He attended George Washington University and was retired from Rowell Printing Company.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Burns Wallace of Mt. Pleasant and children, John C. (Ruby) Gregory, Jr., of North Charleston, Delores G. Hollen, Colleen G. (Thad) Vincent, and Kim G. (William) Ferguson, all of Mt. Pleasant and grandchildren, Ashley and Kenny Gregory; Jennifer, Catherine, and Lindsay Hollen, Thad and Jason Vincent, and Laurie and Billy Ferguson. He is also survived by his sister, Anne W. O'Neill of Plantation, Fla., as well as his nieces and nephews, Bruce M. Wallace of Orlando, Fla., Phillip O'Neill of Carson City, Nev., Carol W. Brown of England and Kathleen O. Bocek of Palm Harbor, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Keene Manning Wallace.
