Mariana Palmer Blair, 79, died at her home, surrounded by family, on the morning of Saturday, December 15, 2001. Captain Richard Allen Thornal, 62, of Stuart Florida, died on Friday, December 7, 2001, in Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.A native of Charleston, S. C., he graduated from St. Andrew's High School and Kings Point, The Merchant Marine Academy. After serving two years in the Navy as Lt. jg., he sailed on merchant ships for 16 years. His last ship as captain was the Sea Land Consumer. Mrs. Lysaght is survived by her one son, Joseph A. Lysaght, Jr., of Charleston, S.C., one daughter, Linda Baxley of John's Island, S.C., five grandchildren, Richard Alan Zeigler, Steven L. Baxley, Vicky L. Davis, Scott A. Baxley, Felicia Shawn Thomas, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary T. Horton of Summerville, S.C., two brothers, Julian Taylor of Mt. CONWAY - Abigail "Abbie" M. Long, age 78, of Pearl St., died Saturday, December 15, 2001, at her residence following an illness.
Ms. Long was born in Holly Hill, S.C., a daughter of the late Rev. Purdy Belvin McLeod, Sr., and Ethel Gertrude McLeod. She was a U.S. Army Veteran. Prior to retirement, Ms. Long was employed by Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
Surviving are, one son, Stephen Long of Myrtle Beach; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Col Purdy B. McLeod, Jr., and wife Odell McLeod of Columbia, Laurie A. McLeod and wife Sue McLeod of Longs, S.C., Cecil H. McLeod and wife Karen McLeod of Mt. Pleasant; one sister and brother-in-law, Nell Hobbs and husband Harold Hobbs of North Myrtle Beach; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, from GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, CONWAY CHAPEL, with Rev. Carl Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

SUMTER, S.C. - John Grant Moise, 48, died Sunday, December 16, 2001, at an area hospital.
Born in Sumter, he was the son of Harold Moise, II, and Clara Grant Moise.
Mr. Moise was the owner of Moise Enterprises, an Environmental Service Company. He graduated from Wilson Hall School, attended the Citadel and University of South Carolina at Sumter.
Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Harold Edwin Moise of San Antonio, Texas, and Henry LeNoir Moise of Mt. Pleasant; two nieces and a nephew.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. John Barr and Rev. Mark Riggs officiating.
