MURDAUGH, Sarah
HEPHZIBAH, GA. - Mrs. Sarah Burnette Murdaugh, 65, of 2304 Mims Road in Hephzibah, Ga., died Saturday morning in an Augusta, Ga., hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Murdaugh was born in Barnwell County, April 23, 1936, a daughter of the late William Silas and Elizabeth Irene Chavis Burnette. She was a homemaker, a member of the Huggin Oak Church of God in Cummings, and had lived in Hephzibah, Ga., for a number of years after moving from Hampton, S.C.
Surviving are, her husband, J.C. Murdaugh of the home; three sons, Reggie Chapman, Craig Murdaugh, and J.C. Murdaugh, Jr.; four daughters, Lynn Leninger, Priscilla Torn, Elizbeth Chapman, and Angela Smith; two sisters, Margaret Albania and Mildred Kitchings; and two brothers, Carl Burnette and Paul Burnette. There a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, with burial in the Varnville cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, and Tuesday morning prior to services.
Also family members will be at the home of Myrtle Ann Crosby, Holly Ridge Apartments, Number 12, Hampton, S.C.
