Dodd, Christine

CORNELIA, Ga. - Christine Parker Dodd, 71, of Cornelia died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at her daughters residence, Sugar Hill Georgia.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia.

Crawford, Mattie

CORNELIA, Ga. - Mattie Blake "Matsy" Holdt Crawford, 80, of Cornelia died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Althea Thomas, Davie, Fla.
Surviving are son, Alan B. Crawford of Cornelia; daughter, Althea Thomas of Davie, Fla.; brothers, Arthur E. Holdt of Naples, Fla., and Robert J. Holdt of Demorest; and two grandchildren.

She was the widow of Stranleigh B. Crawford.

Memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced by McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia.

Cameron, Jane

CASHIERS, N.C. - Jane Ashley Cameron, 80, of Cashiers, formerly of Anderson and Baton Rouge, La., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville.
She was a 1939 graduate of Girl's High in Anderson and attended Winthrop College. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are widower, Albert Neill Cameron Sr. of Cashiers; daughters,
Kathyrn Jane Cameron of San Francisco, Emily Ashley Cannon of Baton Rouge, La., and Sally John Cameron of El Dorado, Ark.; son, Albert Neill Cameron Jr. of Clemson; sisters, Ann Ashley Smith of Rock Hill and Emily Ashley Carley of Shalimar, Fla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Avery Floyd and Della Taylor Ashley of Anderson and Hendersonville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Ashley Horton of Kingstree; and a grandson, James Keith Cameron of Atlanta.

Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cashiers United Methodist Church.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Cashiers-Highlands Hospital, Cashiers, N.C.

Asheville Mortuary Services, Asheville, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Baldwin, Lois

SENECA - Lois Baldwin, 76, of 320 Nebo Church Road died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Fairplay.

Surviving are sisters, Mrytie Inez Clark and Florence Monroe, both of Seneca.

She was the daughter of the late Winfield Cleveland and Addie Smith Baldwin Smith. She was preceded in death by two brothers, W.A. and Arthur Baldwin; and a sister, Nellie Welch.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Seneca, by the Rev. Carl Pointer.

Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home, Seneca, is in charge of arrangements.

Bearden, Charles Sr.

PELZER - Charles "Charlie" Mitchell Bearden Sr., 56, formerly of Pelzer died Monday, April 2, 2001, in Sumter.
Born in Marshall County, he was a mobile home transporter, a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are daughters, Rhonda B. Suttles, Misty Bearden and Christy McClaskey, all of Pelzer; sons, Nathan Bearden of Alabama, Kenneth L. Bearden of Anderson, Thomas A. Bearden of Williamston and C.J. Bearden of Iva; brother, Tony Milam of Sumter; sisters, Sue White and Brenda Garner, both of Alabama; and 16 grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Quinton and Jessie Johnson Bearden.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

Allen, William

ELBERTON, Ga. - William "Bill" Allen, 55, of 1388 Plantation Road died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton.
Born in Atlanta, Ga., he was a member of First Baptist Church, Elberton, and the former owner and operator of Allen Granite Company.

Surviving are son, Todd J. Allen of Elberton; mother, Carolyn L. Allen of Coral Gables, Fla.; and brothers, John C. Allen Jr. of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Davis C. Allen of Orlando, Fla.

He was the son of the late J. Cleve Allen of Coral Gables, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher R. Allen of Elberton; and a brother, Robert H. "Bob" Allen.

Graveside services are at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Miami. The family will receive friends at the home of Mervene Allen, 529 Rhodes Drive, Elberton, Ga.

Family members will be at their respective home.

Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, and in Coral Gables, Fla., the Van Orsdel Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Allen, Lillie

IVA - Lillie Mae Johnson Allen, 65, of 112 Leona Drive died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was employed with the Singer Plant and attended Evergreen Baptist Church. She was a member of the Usher Board, Senior Choir, Missionary, Order of Eastern Star and counselor for Sunbeam Organization.

Surviving are daughters, Patricia, Sandra Allen and Alicia Gambrell, all of Iva; sons, Terrance and Kenneth Allen, both of Iva; and a sister, Ovaline Johnson of Westbury, N.Y.

She was the wife of Preston Oglesby and the daughter of the late June Sims and Pauline Ada Mattison Johnson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel W. Johnson.

Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Baptist Church; interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will be from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Johnson Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge of arrangements.
