Mr. Bevins was born November 8, 1927 in Keystone, West Virginia, the son of William Frank Bevins and Martha Jane Harsock Bevins. He was retired from the Naval Weapon Station.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Claudine Christian Bevins; three sons George Bevins of Johns Island, S.C., David Bevins of Johns Island, S.C. and Damon Bevins of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., one sister, Madeline Hart of Bluefield, West Virginia and three grandchildren.

Alfree George Anderson, 83, widow of Andrew Patrick Anderson, of Summerville, S.C. died Sunday, December 30, 2001 in a local hospital.

Mrs. A. P. Anderson was born on November 16, 1918 in Lockhart, S.C. a daughter of the late Jack George and Florence Wiggins George. She was retired clerk and member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Columbia.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty Buford, of Summerville and her granddaughter, Stephanie Wilson of Charleston.

Benjamin Kenchen Walters, 82, a former longtime resident of Tampa, Florida died Thursday December 27, 2001 in Goose Creek, S.C. Born December 8, 1919 in Georgia he was the son of James Leon and Bobbie Lee Walters. Mr. Walters was a veteran having served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He was also a Mason. BEAUFORT - Stella Scates Milner, 88, of Port Royal, died Saturday, December 29, 2001, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Milner was born January 7, 1913, in Greenwood, Mississippi, a daughter of the late William H. and Stella F. Steele Scates. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort. John Leonard Almeida, 82, died Saturday at Morningside Assisted Living in Orangeburg, after an extended illness. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Assisted Living conducted by John Smith, Chaplain of Morningside. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be at the Unitarian Church Cemetery in Charleston, S.C. Mr. Almeida was born in Charleston, S.C., April 5, 1919, a son of the late James Westman and Effie Kennedy Almeida. He was a member of the Unitarian Church of Charleston, retired from Lenaire Wolfe Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors, He was a veteran of World War II, and served as a officer with the 82nd Airborne Division and also with the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper instructor. He was the husband of Mildred O'Brien Almeida, he was first married to the late Claudia McCown Almeida. Survivors- wife-Mildred O'Brien Almeida of Orangeburg; two daughters; Emilie Livingston (Mrs. Clyde B.) of Orangeburg and Jan Avinger (Mrs. Harry C.) of Apex, North Carolina; son; Dr. John Almeida of Jacksonville, N.C.; sister; Gertrude Maddox of Charleston, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
STEWART, SR., Gary
SALISBURY, Md. - Gary Thomas Stewart, Sr., 57, Electricians Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy Retired, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 29, 2001 after a lengthy fight with cancer. Mr. Stewart remained at home until the end.
Born in Salisbury on June 18, 1944 at Peninsula General Hospital, he was the only child of Irene F. Stewart, (who preceded him in death) and Harold T. . "Jimmy" Stewart, Jr, whom still resides in Salisbury.
He graduated from Wicomico High School in June of 1962. He worked as a young man locally at Salisbury Steel. Then proceeded to become a graduate of Columbia Technical Institute in Washington, DC as a draftsman. Upon graduation he went to work in Silver Springs, Maryland as a draftsman, where he helped draft and design the blue prints for the F.B.I. building that now stands in Washington, DC. On November 25, 1965, Mr. Stewart entered the United States Navy as a nuclear plant operator and retired on November 30, 1987. He served for 22 plus years on a nuclear powered submarine. He then went to work for the U.S. Government, Defense Logistics Agency until December 5, 2000, when he was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Loyal Order of the Demoly, A merican Legion, Fleet Reserve Association, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a lifetime member of VFW. He had been attending Christ United Methodist Church on Phillip Morris Drive.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Velma JoAnne Rhodes Stewart of Salisbury, one son, Gary Thomas Stewart, Jr. of Dekalb, Texas, one daughter, Christina Dawn Hicks and her husband, Ricky of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren, Victoria, Duncan, Amber, Christian and Jonathon. He also leaves a special sister-in-law, Vera M. Rhodes, a special nephew, Clifford L. Woodward and a very dear brother-in-law Ernest K. Rhodes, Jr. all of Salisbury.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate.

Anne F. Anderson, 75, of 100 Dover Rd. died Saturday, December 29, 2001 at her home. A native of Hackensack, N.J. she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Gladys Binns Foster and the widow of James F. Anderson. She was a graduate of West Hampton College of the University of Richmond. She was a substitute teacher at Dorman High School, taught in the Greenville County Schools and worked at the Medical College of Virginia in medical research. Mrs. Anderson was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman E. Anderson of Spartanburg and Donald Lee and Milinda C. Anderson of Summerville, S.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine Anderson and Donald T. Reese of Lancaster, S.C., Barbara Anderson and Rodney D. Cullum of Rock Hill, S.C. and Susan Anderson and Jeffrey S. Mullins of Ladson, S.C.; five grandsons, James Paul Anderson, Joshua Lee Anderson, Jordan Kyle Anderson all of Summerville and Randall Jefferson Gwinn and Jeffrey Jay Mullins, Jr. both of Ladson, S.C.; one brother, Lee Roy Foster, Jr. of Toano, Va.
