Alfree George Anderson, 83, widow of Andrew Patrick Anderson, of Summerville, S.C., died December 30, 2001 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery at 2 o'clock. Friends may call at PARKS FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE, S.C. this evening from 6-8 o'clock.

MELTON, Sarah
Funeral services for Sarah Rebecca Barnhill Melton, 77, will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at 11:00 AM in First Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Rev. Van Pigate, Rev. Todd Smith, and Rev. Lloyd Brewer will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 1, 2002, from 7:00-8:30 PM in KORNEGAY FUNERAL HOME CAMDEN CHAPEL and one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 2, 2002 in the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. Mrs. Melton died Monday, December 31, 2001. Born in Rockingham, NC, she was the daughter of the late George Hope Barnhill and Elvira Dorinda Mitchum Barfield. Mrs. Melton was a legal secretary with Senator John Martin, a graduate of Columbia International University, Columbia, SC, a member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the choir, had recently returned from a mission trip to Spain, and was an active member of the Womens Prison Ministry in Winnsboro and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Camden.
Surviving are her husband David L. Melton, Jr., daughter Dorinda Melton Helms of Columbia; 2 grands, Lane H. Melton of Charleston and Dorinda Mitchum Helms of Columbia; 3 great-grandchildren, Kayla Hildreth and Preston Helms both of Columbia, and David M. Melton of Charleston. She was predeceased by an infant son David L. Melton, III, brothers James Mason Barnhill, and George Dowey Barnhill, sister Virginia Barnhill.

Delois I. Armstrong Brookman, 83, of Summerville, widow of Albert N. Brookman, formerly of Gilroy, California, died Tuesday morning, January 1, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2002 at 2 o'clock in Habing Mortuary Chapel, Gilroy, California. Entombment will be in Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.

Born on September 4, 1918 in Howe, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Charles N. and Lucy Armstrong.
She was a member of New Hope Community Church, in Gilroy, Calif. She attended Miles Road Baptist Church. She was a member of the Teamsters Union. She was a retired Supervisor with Cal Can.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Robert C. Gotterba of Summerville; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Joann Brookman of Littleton, Colo.; sisters, Helen Bertsch of Hemet, Calif., Oliver Fowler of Seaside, Calif., Fay Fullen of Wister, Okla., Ann Bell and Jane Story of Midwest City, Okla.; brothers, Bill Armstrong of Ennes, Tex., Bob Armstrong of Fresno, Calif., Charles Armstrong of DelCity, Okla.; six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

SETSER, Linda
Linda (Bates) Setser of Goose Creek, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2002. She was the mother of Scott and Stephanie Bates, grandmother of Trey Bates, sister of 11 brothers and sisters in Illinois; ex-husband Bruce Bates of Summerville. She was preceded in death by daughter, Tracy Bates, and parents, Harold and Dolly Fowler.

Mrs. Susann "Susie" McAlhaney, 92, of Varnville, died Tuesday morning in a Beaufort hospital after an extended illness.

HUXFORD, Imogene
Imogene Hood Huxford, 66, of Moncks Corner, S.C., died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
The funeral will be at 12 noon Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at the graveside in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday.
Mrs. Huxford was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Bonneau, S.C., a daughter of Jake Hood and Myrie Guerry Hood. She is the widow of Jack Russell Huxford. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Rusty and and Donna Huxford of Moncks Corner; and a grandson, Jake Huxford.

WRIGHT, Nielie

Dwightkee "Cracker" McKelvie, 40, of North Charleston, S.C. died Thursday, December 27, 2001 in Marietta, Ga. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2002 at the Ling Funeral Home Chapel in St. George. Burial will be in the Dorchester Cemetery, Dorchester, S.C. Mr. McKelvie was born August 24, 1961 in Bridgeport, Conn., a son of Joseph McKelvie and Mrs. Joyce Williams McKelvie. He was a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church, North Charleston, S.C. and was a member of 1981 Graduating Class of Bond Wilson High School and was an employee of Firestone of Atlanta.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Joyce Williams McKelvie of North Charleston, S.C., his father, Joseph McKelvie of Cleveland, Ohio, two daughters, Macy Lynn McKelvie and Ms. Sara Alexander McKelvie both of Marietta, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Young of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Shirley P. (Joseph) McKelvie of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Diana T. (William) Bennett of North Charleston, S.C. and Mrs. Kathleen E. (Gregory) of Cary, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph I. McKelvie of Lake City, S.C. and Lee M. McKelvie of Cleveland, Ohio, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Haynes of Charleston, S.C., his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Julia Bell McKelvie of Bridgeport, Conn. PARDUE, Edna
Edna Cheatham Pardue, 86, of North Charleston, a retired computer operator at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station, died Monday in a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Born in Edgefield, she was the daughter of Robert Edmond Cheatham and Alma Hammond Cheatham. Mrs. Pardue was a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church, survivors include her husband, John C. Pardue; a daughter, Lynn Arahill of Summerville; grandchildren, John Arahill and Leslie Arahill.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

DANDRIGE, Mary
COTTAGEVILLE - Mary Redman Dandridge, 99, widow of Hubert Judson Dandridge, died Tuesday at Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, in the Chapel of the Fred Parker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Jakie Walters, Rev. Gary Harrelson and Rev. Jim Williams. Interment will be in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak.
Mrs. Dandridge was born September 30, 1902 in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Edward Murray Redman and Leila Ackerman Redman. She was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and was a former employee of Oakwood Health Care Center.
Surviving are two sons, Hubert J. Dandridge, Jr., of Cottageville and Philip L. Dandridge of Winnsboro, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
