Dwightkee "Cracker" McKelvie, 40, of North Charleston, S.C. died Thursday, December 27, 2001 in Marietta, Ga. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2002 at the Ling Funeral Home Chapel in St. George. Burial will be in the Dorchester Cemetery, Dorchester, S.C. Mr. McKelvie was born August 24, 1961 in Bridgeport, Conn., a son of Joseph McKelvie and Mrs. Joyce Williams McKelvie. He was a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church, North Charleston, S.C. and was a member of 1981 Graduating Class of Bond Wilson High School and was an employee of Firestone of Atlanta.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Joyce Williams McKelvie of North Charleston, S.C., his father, Joseph McKelvie of Cleveland, Ohio, two daughters, Macy Lynn McKelvie and Ms. Sara Alexander McKelvie both of Marietta, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Young of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Shirley P. (Joseph) McKelvie of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Diana T. (William) Bennett of North Charleston, S.C. and Mrs. Kathleen E. (Gregory) of Cary, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph I. McKelvie of Lake City, S.C. and Lee M. McKelvie of Cleveland, Ohio, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Haynes of Charleston, S.C., his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Julia Bell McKelvie of Bridgeport, Conn. He is also survived by nine aunts, seven uncles and numerous other relatives and friends.

PARDUE, Edna
Edna Cheatham Pardue, 86, of North Charleston, a retired computer operator at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station, died Monday in a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Born in Edgefield, she was the daughter of Robert Edmond Cheatham and Alma Hammond Cheatham. Mrs. Pardue was a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church, survivors include her husband, John C. Pardue; a daughter, Lynn Arahill of Summerville; grandchildren, John Arahill and Leslie Arahill.

DANDRIGE, Mary
COTTAGEVILLE - Mary Redman Dandridge, 99, widow of Hubert Judson Dandridge, died Tuesday at Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, in the Chapel of the Fred Parker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Jakie Walters, Rev. Gary Harrelson and Rev. Jim Williams. Interment will be in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak.
Mrs. Dandridge was born September 30, 1902 in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Edward Murray Redman and Leila Ackerman Redman. She was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and was a former employee of Oakwood Health Care Center.
Surviving are two sons, Hubert J. Dandridge, Jr., of Cottageville and Philip L. Dandridge of Winnsboro, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

MIZELL, W. Kermit
ORANGEBURG - W. Kermit Mizell, 54, of 642 Hillsboro Road, Orangeburg, died Monday, December 31, 2001, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2002, in the First Baptist Church in Orangeburg with Dr. Terry Peele officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Mizell was born in Summerville the son of Mrs. Parnice Atkins Mizell and the late Wesley Kermit Mizell. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a retired consulting forester. He was also a retired Army Reservist having served in the Gulf War. He was a Mason, and was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He attended the First Baptist Church, Orangeburg.
Survivors include his wife, Leigh Yeargin Mizell of the home; his mother of Harleyville; daughter, Casey Mizell Bober of Irmo; son, Matthew Kermit Mizell of Columbia; brother, John Harold Mizell of Ladson; granddaughter, Hannah Bober of Irmo; step-daughters, Jennifer Yeargin Cleveland of Greenville, and Brandy Yeargin of Columbia.

Raymond M. Ruth, 57, former Director of Information Services at the Post & Courier died Monday, December 31, 2001, at a local hospital. Born February 13, 1944, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Melvin T. and Dorothy I. Ruth (nee Rehberger). Mr. Ruth served in the U.S. Army and had worked for the Washington Star, Hendrix Electronics, Compugraphics Corp. and Univac. He is survived by his wife Paula Ruth (nee Pavlick); son Sean Ruth, Savannah, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Michael Vaughn and grandson Chris Vaughn, all of Summerville; his parents Melvin T. and Dorothy I. Ruth, Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Thomas Ruth, John Ruth, and James Ruth all of Baltimore, Md., and sister, Christine Lorber, Baltimore, Md. His brother Matthew Ruth preceded him in death. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra (Ray) Dawson of Augusta, Ga., and Denise (Willard) Hair of Atlanta, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. (Christina) Brown, Jr. Roberta is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and her sisters, Jean Mims of Mt. Pleasant, and Delores Miles of Atlanta.
