Marie Virginia Geiger Singley, of North Charleston, S.C., died Sunday, January 5, 2002 following a lengthy illness.

FIORILLO, Helen
Helen Ann Fiorillo died on Wednesday in a local nursing home. Mrs. Fiorillo was born on August 15, 1916, the daughter of John and Suise Mataca of Mt. Carmel, Pa.
On October 19, 1939 she married Antonio Fiorillo and they were blessed with 52 years of marriage which resulted in 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She and Antonio ran their family business in Sommers Point, N.J. in Graceville, Fla. and Screven, Ga. They moved to Walterboro, S.C. in 1989.
Antonio was taken from her April 1, 1991 and she has gone to join him. She is survived by her daughter, Cecile Ingersoil Lee of Summerville, S.C. and son Michael Fiorillo of Prattville, Ala., and her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois F. Winemiller of James Island, S.C.

SANTEE, S.C. - Mr. John Monroe Richardson, 70, husband of Hazel Frye Richardson, died Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at a local Charleston hospital after an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12 at Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. William C. Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
Mr. Richardson was born August 18, 1931 in Horry County, a son of the late Jessie Calhoun Richardson and the late Gussie Capps Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a retired landscaper. He was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War.
Surviving Mr. Richardson in addition to his wife of 48 years and of the home are: a son: John M. Richardson, II of Santee: 3 daughters: Sabrina O'Brien of Eutawville, 10 grandchildren: Jonathan, Julie and Kerri Metzendorf, Ashley and Ryne Mitchell, Zane and Cheyenne Smith and Chelsi, Dakota and Skyler Richardson; 2 brothers: J.C. Richardson of Mullins and Norman L. Richardson of Kenlye, N.C., and 4 sisters: Venia Brown of Johnsonville, Gladys Wallace of Florence, Esther Sawyer of Marion and Ruth Brady of Marion.

AUGUSTA - Jonathan Wayne Caneda, 48, entered into eternal rest January 2, 2002 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Survivors are his mother, Epifania L. Caneda, four children, Bridgette Lott, Chante Procell, Jonathan Caneda, Leslie Caneda, two brothers, Frank Caneda, Jr. and Brian Caneda, two sisters, Stephanie Moseley and Cynthia McBride; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Caneda was a marketing executive with Makestar, a board member of Crisis Ministries in Charleston, S.C. and was also a musician.

Mary F. Hallowell, 83, of Frisco, Tex. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9th, at her family residence.

Mrs. Hallowell was born Nov. 3, 1918 in Augusta, Ga. a daughter of the late Perrin L. & Mattie Norma Huntington Benson. She married James Hallowell, August 2nd, 1942 in Charleston, S.C. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frisco and was a retired retail buyer.
Surviving are a husband, James Hallowell of Frisco, Texas; a daughter, Kay Adams of Greenville, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
