ST. GEORGE - Ellison Guy Infinger, 86, of 294 Cherry Lane, St. George died Sunday January 13, 2002 in a local Nursing home. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Indian Field United Methodist Church with Rev. Betty Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Infinger, Al Godwin, Gene Brummett, James Infinger, Doug Miles and Walter Wagers. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Mr. Infinger was born June 22, 1915 in St. George a son of late Ellison Mood and Maggie Mae Harbeson Infinger. He was a member of Indian Field United Methodist Church where he was Usher Chairman, member of Men's Club and member of Administrative Board. He was a Constable for 34 years for Dorchester County Magistrate's office, a Farmer, and formerly owner of Infinger Service Station in St. George. He was first married to Claire Nettles Infinger and was pre-deceased by sons, Robert Infinger and Lester Infinger. Surviving are: wife, Marjorie Yates Infinger, St. George, a son, Ronald Eugene Infinger, Cope, a daughter, Lois I. (Bobby) Winningham, Summerville, a brother, Nolton Infinger, St. George and a sister, Ellen I. Brummett, St. George. 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Thomas S. Pye, 79, of Charleston, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born in Charleston to Cyrus Claude and Margaret Whetsell Pye. He was a retired General Contractor with Thomas Pye Contracting Co. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Church. Thomas is survived by his wife, Leona Burkowski Pye, five sons, Harold Claude Pye of Atlanta, Ga., James A. Pye of Charleston, David Ernest Pye of Texas, Leslie William Pye and Charles Artie Pye, both of Charleston, and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John Thomas Pye. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m., today, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Oleda Henderson Garrett, widow of Gordon Hughes Garrett, former superintendent of North Charleston School District 4 and the Charleston County School District, died Monday.
Mrs. Garrett was born January 3, 1907, in Pickens, a daughter of Robert Llewellyn Henderson and Viola Looper Henderson. She was former postmistress of the North Charleston Post Office and chief accountant of the Charleston Post Office. She attended the College of Charleston. She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, the Huguenot Society of South Carolina and the Fort Sullivan Chapter, Daughters of the America Revolution.
Surviving are her son, Gordon Henderson Garrett of Charleston; a grandson, Gordon Hughes Garrett of Charleston; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Wilcox Garrett and Caroline Henderson Garrett, both of Charleston; and four sisters, Ruth H. Smith of Charleston, Viola Wilbert of Orlando, Fla., Esther Handrahan of Palm Coast, Fla., and Llewellyn Peterson of Anderson.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Janie McClurd Litaker, 100, a resident of Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis and formerly of Tuckaseegee Road, died at a North Carolina hospital, Saturday, January 12, 2002. Mrs. Litaker was born April 13, 1901, in Grassy Creek, N.C., the daughter of the late William R. McClurd and the late Nellie Bryant McClurd. She retired several years ago from the spinning room of Cannon Mills Plant Four in Kannapolis. She had lived in this area for 80 years. Mrs. Litaker was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis where she was a member of the Women of the Church, the Mary and Martha Circle and the Upper Room Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Litaker, who died May 11, 1987; and two granddaughters, Shelia Weiss and Brenda Allison Clancy.
Survivors include, two daughters, Margie Allison and her husband, Charlie of Concord, and Ruby L. Weiss of Radcliffe, Ky.; two sons, William C. Litaker, Jr., and his wife Ann of Hollywood, S.C., Harry D. Litaker and his wife, Carol of Kannapolis; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

David A. Volles, Jr., 47, of Charleston, South Carolina died Thursday, January 10th at home. A native of Fayetteville, NY he resided in Charleston the past 8 years. He graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School. He worked at Kiawah Island Resort.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, he was a member of the USC Alumni Association, United Way, Palmetto Society and Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.
