HOWARD, Rowena
GEORGETOWN - Rowena Hazel Eaddy Howard, 81, the widow of Roy Quentin Howard, Sr., of the Plantersville community, died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2002, in a Florence hospital.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2002, at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Burial directed by MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, January 24, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howard was born January 20, 1921, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Willie Daniel Eaddy and Lou Ola Perry Eaddy. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Eaddy Howard; six brothers, Theodore Reginald Eaddy, Willie Blease Eaddy, Branchford Taft Eaddy, Albert Jackson Eaddy, Richard Ervin Eaddy, and Alton Alvin Eaddy; three sisters, Edna Olean E. Springs, Ida Lucille Doris E. Perry, and Bessie Eulee E. Cribb.
Surviving are, one son, Roy Quentin Howard, Jr., and his wife, Nancy of Columbia; one daughter, Mary H. Howard and her husband Norman of Georgetown, two sisters, Ola Francis E. Hughes and Gladys Evelyn E. Hughes, both of Murrells Inlet, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
WILLIAMSON, Nathene
KINGSTREE - Nathene Vera Smith Nesmith-Williamson, 80, widow of Hannibal Baker NeSmith, Sr., of 6272 Thurgood Marshall Highway, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at a Charleston hospital.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2002, at Bloomingvalle Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Nesmith Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by ANDREWS CHAPEL OF MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Williamson was born August 21, 1921, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Joseph Sampson Smith and Meddie Geneva Feagin Smith. She was the owner and operator of Williamson Grocery. She was educated in Williamsburg County School system and was a member of the Bloomingvale Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her second husband, Hoyt Stephen Williamson, and a sister, Avis Reather S. Galloway.
Surviving are, three sons, Joseph "Joe" Hannibal NeSmith and his wife, Debbie, Ronald Keith Nesmith and his wife, Jo Anne, all of Kingstree; Nathan Smith Nesmith and his wife Connie of Marietta, Ga., and one step-son, Hannibal Baker "Bo" Nesmith, Jr., and his wife, Betty, of Nesmith; two daughters, Shelby Jean N. Poston and her husband, Larry of Kingstree; Phyllis Joye N. McConnell and her husband David of Georgetown; one brother, Joseph Sampson Smith, II, of Camden; two sisters, Azalee S. Cantley and Ella Vivian S. Mobley, both of Andrews; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Seals was born August 27, 1924, in Marlboro County, S.C., the son of the late James Harry Seals and Alma Hatcher Seals. Mr. Seals was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served in World War II and also a retired agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Mr. Seals is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Strom and Karen Seals of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Roger Seals of Cheraw, S.C., and Henry Seals of Key West, Fla.; two sisters, Thelma Clinkscales of Wallace, S.C., and Eleanor Rhea of Cheraw, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Hope Bowman, Jennifer Seals, Dustin Seals, Laura Seals, Lindsey Seals, Madison Seals, Mark Seals and Jim Seals; four great-grandchildren, Trey Bowman, Christina Bowman, Sydney Pauley and Makinleigh Seals.

John William McGregor, 81, husband of LaFaye Lattimore McGregor died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, in Charleston. Mr. McGregor was born Wednesday, September 1, 1920, in Charleston, the son of John William and Annie Estell Phillips McGregor. He was graduated from Bishop England High School. During W.W.II he was employed by the Navy Yard, was past owner of McGregor Brothers Super Market for 20 years, past co-owner of McGregor Builders and Realty Company. John was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Rev. P.N. Lynch Council No. 704, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Charleston Lion's Club, past member of the Charleston Board of Realtors, past president of the Bishop England Triple "B" Club and was an Independent Insurance Agent. Elsie "Pat" Brown Broecker, 71, of North Charleston died at her home on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 22, 2002 after a long struggle with cancer. Pat was born April 10, 1930 in Lumberton, N.C. the daughter of Stephen C. and Lydia Shepherd Willoughby. A graduate of Bladenboro High School, she was a real estate broker for many years in the Fayetteville area. Pat was a Life Member, VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Women of the Moose in Fayetteville. She attended Grace Lutheran Church in North Charleston. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Broecker, her sons, Robert "Bobby" R. Fitch of North Charleston and Patrick "Shayne" Fitch of Fayetteville, N.C.; her step-daughter, Nikki F. Green of Golden, Colo.; her grandson, Robert R. Fitch, III and great-granddaughter, Haley Fitch of North Charleston. She is also survived by her sisters, Mittie Fields of Fayetteville, N.C. and Clara Budris of Long Beach, Calif. and her brother, Harley Willoughby of Stanley, N.C. and several nieces and nephews. Her step-children, Kenneth A. Broecker, Jr., Brenda Short, Dori Davis, Peggy Davis, Kathy Violanti, Karen Kulaw, 18 step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren, all of New York, also mourn her loss.
