CAMPBELL, Michael
ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Michael "Mike" R. Campbell, 85, of 511 Gue Rd. died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 in a convalescent center in Mt. Pleasant.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002 at Sunnyside Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Barry Jenkins officiating. Burial in Sunnyside Cemetery directed by DUKES-HARLEY FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Campbell was born in Dickson, Tenn., a son of the late John Daniel Campbell and Lila Curtis Campbell. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1946 and was a member of the KA Fraternity. Mr. Campbell was a Colgate-Palmolive representative from 1947-1965. In 1965 Mr. Campbell became the Orangeburg City Treasurer and retired in 1986. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1948 where he served as deacon and elder. Mr. Campbell was an avid golfer and fisherman and was instrumental in the formation of Hillcrest golf course. He was a US Army veteran of World War II having entered the service at the age of 24 where he served from October 1942-January 1946 in Iceland and Europe. He attained the rank of Captain.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine Still Campbell, of the home; 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Michael Ransom Campbell and wife Nedra, Isle of Palms, S.C. and William Curtis Campbell and wife Tamra, Orangeburg, S.C.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lila C. Stopinski, Tullahoma, Tenn. and Mrs. Ann C. Buchanan, Deland, Fla.; 2 grandson, Madison Roe Campbell and Hayden Lee Campbell both of Isle of Palms, S.C.; a granddaughter, Evan Alexandria Campbell, Orangeburg.

G. Heyward Chubb, 66, of Hanahan, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, in a local hospital.
Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002 at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Born in N. Charleston, he was a son of the late George Hampton Chubb and Essie Mae Blanton Chubb Singletary. Mr. Chubb attended N. Charleston High School and Murray Vocational School. Mr. Chubb was president and owner of Chubb Electric Services, Inc. He was Tri-County Sub Contractor of the year, past president of Charleston Electrical Contractors, past chairman and member of the Hanahan License & Review Board. Also, he was a member of Charleston's Elk Club #242, Charter Member of the Hanahan Exchange Club, Charter Member of Northwood Sertoma Club, member of the Citadel Brigadier Foundation Club, and a member of the Citadel Men's Club. Mr. Chubb will be remembered for his Christmas lighting displays in the North Charleston and Hanahan area for over 40 years. He attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mr. Chubb is survived by, his wife, Leona Keyser Chubb; daughters, Cynthia D. Chubb of Goose Creek and Pamela C. Bonifay of Summerville; a son, Timothy H. Chubb of Hanahan; sisters, Katie Mae Gilmore and Dorthy C. Tucker, both of Hanahan; step-sisters, Gloria Jean S. Sossamon, Faye S. Lark and Donna S. Sweat all of Summerville; step-brothers, Ronald C. Singletary of Summerville and Harold B. Singletary of N. Charleston; and two grandchildren, Alex and Christina Bonifay, both of Summerville.

Eugene Michael Zuchowski, 81, of Ladson, died Thursday, January 24, 2002 at his residence.

Born September 29, 1920, in Calumet City, Illinois, he was a son of the late Joseph and Julia Grabowski Zuchowski. He was retired from Prosser Industries. Mr. Zuchowski was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Navy Sea Cadets.
Survivors include, his wife, Mrs. Edna Cairns Zuchowski; sons, Kerry Zuchowski and his wife Beverly of Monroe, N.C., and John Zuchowski and his wife Ginger, of Summerville; a sister, Delphine Carlson and her husband Roy, of South Bend, Ind., a brother, Claude Zuchowski and his wife Cas of Joliet, Ill., five grandchildren, Roger Zuchowski and his wife Laura, Lee Zuchowksi, Jasmine Zuchowski, and Haylee Zuchowski.

Rebecca Varn Coleman, 73, wife of William "Bill" Coleman of Seabrook Island, S.C. died Thursday, January 24, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Coleman was born Monday, February 13, 1928 in Smoaks, S.C. the daughter of William Henry and Alexina Sauls Varn. She was graduated from Furman University. Mrs. Coleman loved her family and entertaining. She was a Life Master at bridge and a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior. Walter Geddis, born August 27, 1914 in Dorchester County, owned a home at 305 East 1st North Street, Summerville, S.C. 29483, presently resided at 4364 Ross Street, Apt. A, North Charleston, S.C. 29418, departed this life after a sudden illness at a local hospital in Charleston, S.C. on January 23, 2002. Gerald Randal "Randy" Hendrick, 54, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002 in Charleston. Mr. Hendrick was born Friday, June 6, 1947 in Coronado, Calif. the son of the late Gerald Randal Hendrick and Gale Gonzales Hendrick Elam of Charleston. He was graduated from Hanahan High School and was the owner of R. Hendrick & Sons Fiberglass Repair, North Charleston. Mr. Hendrick was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. He loved golf, fishing, boating and all water activities. He trained as a Psychiatric Tech and was employed at a Youth Correctional Facility in California, a trained Emergency Medical Technician, a motion picture photographer during Vietnam and later a professional photographer. LEXINGTON - Timothy Alfred Lawrence Prynne, 68, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002. Born in Looe Cornwall, England; he was the son of the late Edward and Doris Prynne. MCCULLOUGH, Dorothy
KINGSTREE - Miss Dorothy Anne McCullough, 90, died Thursday in a Florence hospital.
Miss McCullough was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Graham McCullough and Azile Snowden McCullough. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and held a Masters degree in library science. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Williamsburg County, Olanta, Darlington Co. Schools and Williamsburg Academy. Miss McCullough was a life-long member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was church pianist for many years. She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. C.B. Dunn. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. LILLY, Herman
Herman Lewis Lilly, son of the late Lizzie Deberry Lilly, and Hayward Lilly, was born on August 8, 1944. A retired NYC police lieutenant, Herman loved his beautiful hometown of Badin, N.C., but chose his wife's hometown of Charleston, S.C., as his final resting place.
Herman's first visit to Charleston was during his wife Patricia (Alma) Singleton Lilly's 20th reunion of her alma mater, Burke High School. He told his wife that he had no idea that Charleston was so beautiful. Prior to his illness, Herman and Pat had been looking for a home in the Charleston area.
Herman was an honor student at West Badin High School. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a front-line solider during the Vietnam War. He graduated from cum laude with a B.A. degree from New York Institute of Technology. He was known as a fun-loving, but highly disciplined man who kept his priorities straight and believed in hard work and family. He had a happy marriage to Patricia Singleton Lilly for 31 and a half years. The couple has one son, Eric John Lilly, a daughter-in-law, Delila Lilly, and two grandchildren, Herman also leaves behind his father, Elder Haywood Lilly (Badin, N.C.); his brothers, Levander Lilly and his wife Ethel (Flushing, N.Y.); Harold Lilly and his wife Virginia (Uniondale, N.Y.); John Lily and his wife Patricia (Brooklyn, N.Y.); his sisters, Kathryn Lilly Parker (Albermarle, N.C.); Emma Lilly (Washington, D.C.); uncle Will Sam Deberry (Mt. Gilard, N.C.), several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends in the Badin and Albermarle areas.

Miss Fosnight was born March 25, 1981, in Beaufort, S.C., a daughter of James Arthur Fosnight and Charlotte Horn "Dolly" Litchfield. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are, her mother and step-father, Frank J. Litchfield of Macedonia; her father of Ridgeland; three sisters, Shauna M. Litchfield of Macedonia, and Sonya N. Litchfield and Miranda D. Singletary both of St. Stephen; two brothers, David R. Fosnight of Moncks Corner and Dustin L. Litchfield of Macedonia; and her grandparents, Charmene M. Bogus of Maple Heights, Ohio, Ray and Marge Horn of Beaufort, and Peggy and Leroy Litchfield of Macedonia.

Ethel Thornley Huff, 81, of Moncks Corner, S.C., died Thursday, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Huff was born January 10, 1921, in Awendaw, S.C., a daughter of Andrew Thornley and Julia Parker Thornley. She was a member of the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the United Methodist Women's Assoc., and the Wide Awakers. Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Huff, and three brothers, Perry Thornley, Marion Thornley, and James Thornley.
Surviving are, a daughter, Linda Mason of Boca Raton, Fla.; a son, Junius K. Huff, III, of Moncks Corner; six sisters, Ruth Mitchum and Lillian Spiers both of Moncks Corner, Mercilee Hill and Myrtie Williams both of Macedonia, Lorraine Hill of Hanahan, and Dolly Jean Dennis of Columbia; and two grandchildren.
HOTARD, Warren
Warren P. Hotard, 77, of Hanahan, died on the morning of Thursday, January 24, 2002. The funeral service will be 2 o'clock, Saturday, January 26, 2002, in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's Greenridge Road Chapel this evening (Friday) from 6 until 8 p.m.
A native of Algiers (New Orleans), La., Mr. Hotard served in the European Theater with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the aircraft maintenance department of the Charleston Air Force Base and was a member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Snell Hotard, his son and daughter-in-law, Warren C. (Patricia) Hotard and his son, Sam Hotard, both of Goose Creek. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
