Charles Arthur Ridgeway
Charles Arthur Ridgeway, 63, of Barnwell, died July 21, 2002.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. July 24 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church, with burial in the Barnwell County Cemetery. Marianne Turner officiated. Dyches Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ridgeway was born in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late J. I. Ridgeway and Ida Ridgeway. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Sgt. He was the former owner of Ridgeway Buggeta Company and was a member of the American Legion Post V.F.W. Post Commander. He was predeceased by two brothers, James Ridgeway Jr. and Joe ìSpeckî Ridgeway.
Survivors are his wife, Doris Mae Cross Ridgeway of the home; one daughter, Deanna Marie Ridgeway of Barnwell; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig Anthony and Jeriln Ridgeway of Barnwell; four brothers, Bob Ridgeway of Florence, Jack Ridgeway of Aiken, Ernest Ridgeway of Barnwell and Arnold Ridgeway of Waycross, Ga.; three sisters, Evelyn Roberson of Summerton, Jeannette Flanigan of Charlotte, N.C. and Annette Barnette of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Brittany Ridgeway, Riley Hart Ridgeway and Brock Ridgeway, all of Barnwell.

James Willie Moore
James Willie Moore, 93, of Williston, died July 22, 2002.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 24 at the Williston United Methodist Church, with burial in the Williston Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Summers officiated. Dyches Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore was born in New Mexico. He was the son of the late Willie Z. and Kate Moore. He was a member of the Georgia Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors are one son, Ernest L. Frank of Williston; one brother, Lynn ìBillî Smallwood of Charleston; two sisters, Amanda Barkley of San Angelo, Texas and Marie Moore Williams of Morton, Texas; and two granddaughers, Anly F. Widener and Amy F. Ziegler, both of Williston.

Thurmond ìManî Owens Jr., 38, of Barnwell, died July 25, 2002 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 30 at Guinyard & Sonís Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Jordan Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. C. F. Mitchell officiated. Guinyard & Sonís Funeral Home in Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Owens was the son of Thurmond Owens Sr. and Florence M. Owens.
Survivors are his parents, Thurmond Owens Sr. and Florence M. Owens of Barnwell; and four sisters, Brenda Micherell, Amy Owens, Lou Ethel Owens, all of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Inez Owens of Barnwell.
Marian Cook Gilbert
Marian Cook Gilbert, 100, of Blackville, died July 26, 2002.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. July 28 at the Blackville Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Mew officiated. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gilbert was born in Allendale. She was the daughter of the late William Cook and Wilhelmina Berry Cook Martin. She worked in hotel management. She was a beautician, an artist, and collector of antiques. She was co-founder of the Belkís Department Store Beauty Salonís. She was a member of the Blackville First Baptist Church. She was married to the late Frank Gilbert. She was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Beasley, Mildred Roland and Helen Williams.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

James Warren Mole Sr.
James Warren Mole Sr., 80, of Brunson, died Feb. 3, 2004 in the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 7 in the Brunson Baptist Church, with burial in the Brunson Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Finley Limehouse and Robert L. Altman officiated. Peoples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mole was born Sept. 29, 1923 in Hampton County. He was the son of the late Lewis E. and Ruth McMillan Mole. He was a life long farmer and member and Deacon of the Brunson Baptist Church. He served as a District Board member with the Soil and Water Conservation Office for 14 years, was a Charter member of the Hampton County Farm Bureau and the Farm Bureau Peanut Board, had served with Operation Roundup with Palmetto Electric, and was a former County Committeeman with the USDA, Farm Service Agency. He was also a member of the Woodmen of The World.
Survivors are his wife, Rosalind Priester Mole of Brunson; one son and daughter-in-law, J.W. and Tammy Mole Jr. of Brunson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Donnie Jones of Brunson and Ginger and Robert Altman of Williston; three brothers, Dr. Hugh W. Mole of Orangeburg, Lewis and Wayne Mole of Allendale; three sisters, Lillian M. Riley of Conyers, Georgia Anne M. Barnes of Islandton and Ross M. Barber of Cameron; and nine grandchildren.

Peter Salvato, 93, of Williston, died Feb. 8, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Feb. 11 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Barnwell, with burial at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The Rev. Michael J. Oenbrink will officiate. Folk Funeral Home in Williston in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Salvato was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the son of the late Jack and Gaytana Salvato. He was married to the late Barbara Kay Poleo Salvato. He was retired from the American Express Company in New York, having working in the maintenance department. He was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are one daughter, Barbara K. Salvato of Blackville; one son, Peter V. Salvato of Barnwell; one sister, Ann Meli of Kansas City, Miss; one brother, Joseph Salvato of Boston, Mass.; six granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
George Myers
George Myers, 68, of Barnwell, died Feb. 6, 2004 in the Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at St. Mary Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Nathaniel Odom and McKinley Neal officiated. Guinyard and Sonís Funeral Home in Barnwell was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Myers was the son of the late Theodore Fredrick and Marie Myers-Boyd. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass of Aiken.
Survivors are two daughters and son-in-law, Rosetta E. and James Williams of Ellenwood, Ga. and Evette Myers of Haphzibah, Ga.; mother, Marie Myers-Boyd of Bronx, N.Y.; one grandson, Travis P. Myers of Hephzibah, Ga.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Woodrow and Dorothy Myers of South Ozone, N.Y. and Isidore and Farrie Lee Fredrick of Columbia; and three sisters, Cleo Pratt of Hempstead, N.Y., Jessie Phelps of Lynbrook, N.Y. and Mae Lilly of Maryland.

Mrs. Williamson was born in Orangeburg County. She was the daughter of the late William L. Adams Sr. and Mary Stillinger Adams. She was a member of Salley Baptist Church, WMU, Dorcus Sunday School class. She was a member of the Salley Chapter Eastern Star.
Survivors are three daughters, Ann Victoria W. Gleaton, Barbara jean W. Merrill and Martha Diane W. Williamson; one son, Arthur ìButchî Williamson Jr.; three sisters, Nita Hallman, Sue Lee Hall and Nona Faye Walker; one brother, W.L. Adams Jr.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
