Mr. Bracy was born in North Carolina, the son of Clarence Edward Bracy and Elsie Vick Bracy. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1968. He was a member of Woodman of the World. He was a life member of The American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are his wife of Ravenel, S.C.; two sons; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 24, 2002, Harral V. Shokes, husband of Mary Ann Shokes. He was born in Charleston, S.C., the son of the late Victor and Cassie Church Shokes.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; sons: Stephen H. Shokes of Mt. Pleasant and John E. Shokes of Gilbert, S.C.; a brother: Clyde H. Shokes of Charleston, S.C. and two grandsons of Mt. Pleasant. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth A. Shokes of Florence, S.C.

Mrs. Redmond was born August 25, 1898, in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Edward Sperry Flathmann and Emily Holsenbeck Flathmann. She was a member of Spring Street Methodist Church, which is now Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Harry Allen Redmond and John Earl Redmond both of California; 14 grandchildren: Crystal Carlson, John Courtney Carlson, Daniel Carlson, David Carlson, Matthew Carlson, Carl Carlson, Kevin Redmond, Rodney Redmond, Steven Redmond, Heather Redmond, Daniel Redmond, Rebecca Melka, Randy Redmond, Robert Gennaro and Michael Gennaro and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Audie Tillman Redmon, 3 daughters: Helen R. Gennaro, Frances R. Carlson and Emily Redmond.

S. Candice Bayles, 54, died Thursday, January 24, 2002 in Moncks Corner, S.C. Born July 30, 1947 in Germany she was the daughter of John and Christa Coleman (nee Irimgard). Mrs. Bayles was a real estate paralegal for attorney George Bishop. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Goose Creek. She is survived by her husband Tommy Keith Bayles; parents: John and Christa Coleman, Roanoke, Va.; three daughters: Julie and her husband Louis Toschner, Cross, S.C.; Laurel Phelps, New Orleans, La.; and Kimberly Ann Shannon, Palestine, Tex.; and two grandchildren: Heather Nicole and April Renee Hegwood, both of Lexington, S.C. ABLES, William
GREENVILLE, S.C. - William Ronald Ables, 55, of 15 Lake Forest Drive, died January 25, 2002 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Toccoa, Ga., he attended Montreat-Anderson College in Black Mountain, N.C. He was former co-owner of Boss Insulation in Charleston, S.C., and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Ables was in the European Headquarters for the U.S. Army where he served during the invasion of Czechoslovakia.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Davis Ables of Charleston; two sons, David Ables of Clemson, and Jimmy Ables of Charleston; his parents, William Jennings and Lois Elizabeth Rogers Ables of the home; his twin brother, Rober Ables of College Station, Tex., and his brother, Rudy Ables, of Greenville; nephews and niece, B.J., Matthew, Gareth, and Meghan Ables.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with services following at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Robert Whaley will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

COLEMAN, Rebecca
Rebecca Varn Coleman, 73, wife for 52 years of Col. William "Bill" Coleman USAF (Ret.) of Seabrook Island, S.C. died a natural death after a prolonged illness on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Coleman was born Monday, February 13, 1928 in Smoaks, S.C. the daughter of William Henry and Alexina Sauls Varn. She was graduated from Furman University. Mrs. Coleman loved her family and entertaining. She was a Life Master at bridge and a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002 at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 4416 Bohicket Rd., John's Island. BOWDLE, Louise
Louise Ethel Bowdle, age 62, died Thursday at a Hinesville, Ga.; after a short illness.
She was a native of Pooler and lived the past four years in McIntosh County. She was previously employed as a Medicare Clerk. She was a member of St. Stephens Methodist Church in St. Stephen, S.C.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Bowdle of Townsend; one son, Sean Kennedy of Charleston, S.C.; her mother, Hazel Spears of Fleming; five sisters, Norma Huckaby of Meansville, Ga., Dorothy Gates of Pooler, Carlisle Floyd of Townsend, Patsy Simmons of El Paso, Ark., and Carol Ragan of Savannah; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, January 27, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, with Rev. Janet Gallob officiating. Burial will be in Midway Methodist Church Cemetery.

SELLERS, Nollie
CONWAY - Rev. Nollie D. Sellers, age 89, died Thursday, January 24, 2002, at a Conway hospital following an extended illness.
Rev. Sellers was born in Horry County a son of the late Frank and Mary Squires Sellers. He was a member of the South Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lake City since 1947. Rev. Sellers was married to the late, Emily Watts Sellers on June 22, 1930. Surviving are, three daughters, Marjorie Pendleton of Riverside, Calif., and her husband, Carl; Edna Brown of Kingstree and her husband Charles and Phyllis Harrell of Raleigh and her husband Roland; one brother, Jessie L. Sellers of Walterboro and one sister, Marie Causey of Belle Glade, Fla.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, from the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Conway with the Rev. Roland Harrell, Rev. Dudley Parnell and Rev. Terry Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, CONWAY CHAPEL.

RIVERS, James
Mr. James Robert Rivers, 79, of 6858 Pocataligo Road near Hampton, died early Friday morning at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Rivers was born in Hampton County, September 30, 1922, a son of the late James E. and Priscilla Donehue Rivers. Mr. Rivers had retired from the Power Plant at Paris Island as a Controlman, and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Lodge in Hampton and the Hampton First Baptist Church. He was married to the late Mary Shipes Rivers.
Surviving are, one son, Dr. James A. "Jimmy" Rivers of Charleston; one daughter, Connie R. Godowns of Beaufort; one sister, Ethel Speaks of Fairfax; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, with burial in the St. Paul Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Greg Clements.
Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, and Sunday until the hour of services.

Raleigh Lee Powers, 78, of Church of God Road, Macedonia, S.C., a former chemical technician for United Piece & Dye, died Thursday in a Charleston hospital.

Mr. Powers was born June 19, 1923, in Aynor, S.C., a son of James Powers and Maude Squires Powers. He was an Army veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of Moncks Corner Church of God. He was a mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Surviving are, his wife, Christine Powell Powers; two daughters, Cynthia Halvorsen and Janice Bradwell both of Macedonia; three sons, Robert Powers and Carson Powers, Sr., both of Macedonia, and Randy Powers of Gray Court; three sisters, Ann Reeves of Enoree, Mary Earl Calder of Conway, and Lena Maude Winningham of Aynor; a brother, J.L. Powers of Galivants Ferry; and 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
BAKER, SR., Floyd
GEORGETOWN - Floyd M. (Buddy) Baker, Sr., 88, died Friday, January 25, 2002, in a Georgetown hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 27, 2002, at 3 p.m., in GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Mobley. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
He was born March 23, 1913, in Morgan City, La., a son of the late Samuel Morgan Baker and Susan Elizabeth Baker.
He was a retired maintenance superintendent with American Can Co. in Naheola, Ala. After retiring in 1978 he moved to Georgetown. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith and was a member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge No. 22 F.&A.M. in Linden, Ala.
Surviving are, his wife, Christine L. Baker; two sons, Bobby Baker of Oregon and Dennis Baker of Georgetown; one daughter, Sue B. Gibson of Georgetown; two sisters, Eula Stunkel of Georgetown and Doris Rivers of Hattisburg, Miss.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one son, Floyd M. Baker, Jr.; one daughter, Kathryn Flagel and a grandson, Tracey Gibson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
