Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 25, 2002, Mr. John Brooks, husband of Mary Lee Guerry Brooks. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Tuesday afternoon January 29, 2002, at 2 o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Monday evening from 6 to 8 o'clock.
Mr. Brooks was born in Kinston, North Carolina, son of Joseph A. Brooks and Kate Austin Brooks. He was a Nuclear Power Engineer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and an Army Captain. Mr. Brooks was a former Sunday school teacher and a Deacon. He graduated from Porter Military Academy and was in the class of 1957 at the Citadel.
Surviving are his wife. One son, John P. Brooks, Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Lisa Vellenoweth and son-in-law Bill of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Lillie Hicks of Greenville, S.C., and Catherine Harpring of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two granddaughters, Kayla Brooks of Summerville, S.C. and Courtney Vellenoweth of Clemson, S.C.

SEAY, Paulette
Paulette Johnson Seay, 56, of Waterside Blvd., Moncks Corner, died Saturday in a North Charleston hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 2002, in the Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church, Cordesville. Interment will be private. Arrangements by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lupus Foundation of American, P.O. Box 1427, Easley, S.C. 29641.
Mrs. Seay was born Dec. 18, 1945, in Moncks Corner, S.C., a daughter of Clarence Johnson and Reatha Mims Johnson. She was a member of the Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Seay; four sons, Jimmy, Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Rusty Seay, and Ricky Seay all of Moncks Corner; a daughter, Faith Thomas of St. Stephen; a sister, Juanita Bunch of Summerville; a brother, Charlie Johnson of Moncks Corner; and two grandchildren.

SCOTT, Aaron
Aaron Briscoe Scott, 25, of Mookees Lane, Cross, S.C., a brick mason and construction worker, died Friday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 2002, in the Full Gospel Mission, Cross. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. this Monday evening. Directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.
Mr. Scott was born January 22, 1977, in Charleston, S.C., a son of David Ray Scott and Debra Tipton Scott. He attended the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Surviving are, his parents of Cross; a sister, Misty Tipton of Summerville; a brother, David Jason Scott of Cross; and three nieces, Amber Tipton of Cross, Ashley Owens of Summerville, and Angela Monday of Powell, Tenn.

RAYMER, Cornelia
Cornelia Louise Thompson Raymer, 83, of 232 Azalea Ave., Bamberg, S.C., widow of the late John Mason Raymer died January 27, 2002 at Longwood Plantation, Orangeburg, S.C.
Mrs. Raymer was born December 31, 1918 in Lancaster, S.C., a daughter of the late Rufus Emerson Thompson and the late Louise Dye Thompson. She was a retired business owner, was an avid bridge player and was a member of Associate Reform Presbyterian Church, Greenville, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at COONER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL officiated by Rev. David Pohto on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Greenville, S.C.
Surviving are 1 daughter: Carmen Clary of Bamberg; 1 son, Richard Emerson Raymer of Atlanta, Ga.; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew.

TARVER, Angeles
Angeles S. Tarver, 80, of Mexico City, Mexico and Mount Pleasant, S.C. died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, in a local hospital. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Tarver are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Christ Our King Catholic Church, Tuesday, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. LUCAS, Kae
Kae Lucas, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, wife of Warren J. Lucas died Thursday, January 24th at her residence. Born in Galveston, Tex. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis "Red" W. Weber. She was an author of children's stories, cookbooks, and military humor. She wrote and produced many musical shows for the U.S. Air Force and was also a consultant. She is survived by her husband, a son, Scott Lee Hays of Washington, S.C., two brothers, Lewis W. Weber of San Antonio, Tex., and Robert Weber of Dallas, Tex., one granddaughter, Jamie Kathryn Schulke. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lynne Shulke. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 28th at Christ Our King Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Ave., N. LAZAR, Sara
FLORENCE - Sara Stoddard Lazar died Sunday, January 27, 2002 in a Florence hospital after an extended illness.
A Funeral Celebration will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Central United Methodist Church, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Born in Greenville County, March 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late David Lewis and Mary Suddeth Stoddard. She grew up in Spartanburg, S.C. and was graduated from Fair Forest High School and attended Converse College.
Mrs. Lazar was a member of Central United Methodist Church, The Florence Symphony Guild, and the Thomas Lynch, Jr. chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her husband, the Rev. Julian H. Lazar of the home at 1389 Lazar Place, and an adopted son, Dennis Wilson of Irmo, survives her. Two sons, David Tarlton Lazar and John Hampton Lazar, predeceased her. A brother, David Stoddard Suddeth, also predeceased her.
The family will receive guests and friends at the Funeral Home Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church Building Campaign, 225 W. Cheves St., Florence, S.C. 29501; or the Methodist Oaks c/o Methodist Retirement Center in Orangeburg, S.C.

DEAN, Kenneth
The relatives and friends of Lt. Colonel Kenneth L. Dean, U.S. Army (Ret.), widower of Barbara Lawrimore Dean are invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in Summerville Presbyterian Church. Burial, with military honors will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.

GERACI, Anthony
Anthony Thomas Salvatore Geraci, 67, of the Isle of Palms, S.C., died Friday, January 25, 2002. Born January 10, 1935, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of Anthony and Mary Ann Geraci (nee Cappello). He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He founded I.D.E.A. (Industrial Design Engineering Associates) of Charleston. Tony had many talents and enjoyed playing acoustic bass both professionally and non-professionally. He was a former manager of Chuck Mangione. An avid golfer he played at Charleston Municipal Golf Course and more recently was a starter and ranger on the golf courses at Wild Dunes Resort. His interests also included memberships in the S.C. Poetry Society, Charleston Modern Poetry Group and the S.C. Writer's Group. Tony was a former board member of the Unitarian Church, Charleston, S.C. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity, Charleston, S.C. He is survived by his wife Angelica Kathryn Thevos, Isle of Palms, S.C.; three sons, John-Anthony Geraci Thevos, Isle of Palms, S.C., and Nick Anthony Geraci and Zachary James Geraci, both of Charleston, S.C.; three brothers, Samuel Geraci, Largo, Fla., Lawrence J. Geraci, Sr., New Haven, Conn., and Michael James Geraci, Safety Harbor, Fla.; and four cousins, Nicholas Grasso, James Grasso, Richard Grasso and Roseanne Grasso, all of New Haven, Conn. RAMSAY, JR., George
TOCCOA, GA. - Mr. George Bowie Ramsay, Jr., age 88, of 1000 Crabapple Road, Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2002, at a Georgia hospital.
A son of the late George B., Sr., and Sue Willingham Ramsay, he was born March 30, 1913, in Stephens County, Ga., where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Boys High in Atlanta, attended Georgia Tech. and was a graduate of Atlanta Law School in 1939. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre at the rank of Captain. He was a senior partner of McClure, Ramsay, Dickerson & Escoe, LLP law firm in Toccoa since 1939 and a member of the State Bar of Georgia having served on the Discipline Committee and the Board of Bar Examiners. Mr. Ramsay served in the Georgia House of Representatives in 1947 and 1948; former president of Northeastern Circuit Bar Association; founder and original Board member of Citizens Bank of Toccoa and Bank of Banks County; former member of Toccoa Rotary Club; former Boy Scout Master; member of the Board of Trustees of the McNeely Foundation; board member of the John Huland Carmichael Foundation; member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church and had served on the Vestry. He was an avid golfer and qualified for the U.S. Senior Open in 1972. He was involved also in the Habitat for Humanity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eley Ramsay who passed away in 1997.
Survivors are a daughter, Sue Ramsay Limehouse and son-in-law, H.B. Limehouse, III, of Charleston, S.C., and a grand-daughter, Eliza Devereaux Limehouse of Charleston, S.C. A sister, Lida R. Sims of Atlanta. A number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, 1 o'clock, at St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Toccoa with the Rev. Charles Davis and the Rev. Dr. John Barr, III, officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Al Huber, John Dickerson, Marty Escoe, Ramsay Sims, Grant Sims and Robert Ramsay.
The Honorary Escort will be composed of Jack Stovall, Harold Watson, Fred Watson, Bub Greer, Bob Struble and Frank Davis.
The families will be at the home on Crabapple Road, and at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ramsay, 801 E. Tugalo St., Toccoa.
The family will receive friends at the Ramsay Home, 1000 Crabapple Road, Clarksville, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.

LONG, Wesley
ANDREWS - Wesley Buster Long, 74, of County Line Road, died Saturday evening, January 26, 2002, at the V.A. Hospital in Charleston.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2002, at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery, directed by Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday evening, January 28, 2002, at the funeral home.
Mr. Long was born, May 11, 1924, in Georgetown County, a son of the Alice Long Smith. He was a retired employee of the Finishing and Shipping Dept. of International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill and was a member of the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Edna Morris Long of Andrews, are, three daughters, Shirley Jean L. Stewart and Carolyn L. Knight of Andrews, Peggy L. Kincande of Summerville; two brothers, Wilson Smith of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Golden Long of Germany; two sisters, Laura Mae Martin and Junita Webb, both of Charleston; three grandchildren.

BLACK, Louise
WALTERBORO - Louise Wells Black, 94, widow of Eugene Williams Black, Sr., died Sunday, at a Walterboro health facility.
Private funeral services will be held at the graveside in Live Oak Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Jim Lewis and directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Black was born August 2, 1907, in Birmingham, Ala., a daughter of the late Samuel Claude Wells and Byrdie Lou Beatty Wells. She was a member of St. Judes Episcopal Church and was a former bank receptionist.
Surviving are, a son, Eugene W. Black of Walterboro, a daughter, Betty B. McDaniel of Walterboro, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

KIZER, Frances
ST. GEORGE, S.C. - Mrs. Frances Weathers Kizer, 74, of 11 Behling Court, St. George died Saturday January 26, 2002 in Summerville Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Tuesday in the Indian Field United Methodist Church with Rev. Betty Hughes and Rev. Kim Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Campbell, Jr., Glen Stephens, Barry Stephens, Richard Crook, Bill Way, and Rich Way. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm in Bryant Funeral Home. Mrs. Kizer was born January 6,1928 in St. George a daughter of the late Ellerbe Holroy Weathers and Lucy Lee Kizer Weathers. A graduate of Harleyville High School she had retired as Deputy Chief real estate clerk with Dorchester County Clerk of Court's office and was a member of Indian Field United Methodist Church. She was pre-deceased by a son Linwood M. Kizer, a bother Roy Weathers, and a sister, Grace Murray Barker. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Myra (Ron) Connell, Summerville, 2 sisters, Mrs. Lucille (Carl) Campbell, and Mrs. Bobbie Stephens, both St. George. 2 grandchildren, Dustan (Aimee) Connell, and Celeste Connell, both of Summerville. PALASSIS, Constantine
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of January, 27, 2002, Constantine Nicholas Palassis, co-owner of Town and Country Inn & Conference Center, residence Charleston, S.C. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service, Wednesday, January 29, 2002, 1:30 p.m., at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Entombment Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, where the Trisagion service will be held at 7 o'clock at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Mr. Palassis was born July 29, 1938, in Charleston, S.C., son of Nicholas and Georgia Banis Palassis. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Mr. Palassis was a graduate of Rivers High School and Clemson University, Class of 1961. He served in the Army's National Guard. He was a member of AHEPA. Mr. Palassis was also an avid enthusiast and collector of model trains. He is most remembered for his generous smile and warm greetings at Trotter's Restaurant.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Demetrious E. "Jim" and Cookie Palassis of Hollywood, S.C., sister and brother-in-law, Rita P. and George Castanas of Charlotte, N.C., nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Elaine Palassis of Charleston, S.C., and Nicole, Dina, and Demetre Castanas of Charlotte, N.C., and special friend, Janet Varn of Charleston, S.C.
The family is sincerely appreciative of his doctors and the ICU nursing staff of Roper Hospital, and the many relatives and friends that visited him in the hospital.
