Mr. Metcalf was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a son of Nelson C. and Ethel H. Metcalf. He was a graduate of St. Paul's School, Concord, New Hampshire and Harvard University. Mr. Metcalf was a retired advertising executive.

Martin Henry Hancock, 80, of North Charleston, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2002, at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Born September 12, 1921, in Mobile, Alabama, he was a son of the late Martin V. and Ida Crabtree Hancock. He was owner of Charleston Exterminating Company. Mr. Hancock was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Tyler Hancock; daughters, Judith H. Felker of Summerville, Melissa Hancock of Charleston and Valerie H. Pembroke of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Martin H. Hancock, Jr. of Cheraw; a brother, Ray E. Hancock of Hanahan; and five grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Marie Neal Murray, 97, widow of William Mouzon Murray, of Summerville, S.C. died January 30, 2002 at her residence.

Mrs. Murray was born May 6, 1904, in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Thomas Murray and Edna Harvey Murray. She was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where she was a telephone operator. She was a long time member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she was a charter member of the Bethany Quilting Club.
Mrs. Murray is survived by three daughters, Lynn Collins of Eutawville, S.C., Edna Goshorn and Betty Gabrielli both of Summerville, S.C., and two sons, William Mouzon Murray, Jr. and Russell Murray both of Summerville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

WINN, Hazel
Hazel Isehower Winn, 84, of 118 Spring Valley Drive, Spartanburg, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 in a local health care center in Mauldin after an extended illness.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Caleb Nelson and Minnie Lee Henderson Isehower. She attended the University of South Carolina, Columbia and also the Business College of Charlotte. She was a supervisor having worked in the Accounting Dept. of Southern Bell Telephone in Charlotte and Columbia. Mrs. Winn was an active member of the Morningside Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she had taught Sunday School for a number of years, was a member of the Loyalty Sunday School Class, Women's Missionary Society and was also a volunteer with Mobile Meals.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Ralph Marshall Winn of the home; two sons, R. Marshall Winn, III and wife, Jeanette Anderson Winn of Greenville, and Stephen H. Winn of Sumter, S.C.; two grandchildren, Richard Marshall Winn and Eleanor Anderson Winn of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Neal (Catherine) Mott of North Charleston, S.C. and Mrs. Patrick (Betty) Sigmon of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, John N. Isehower of Charleston, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
