Ellis was born on January 26, 1944, in Crawfordsville, Ark. He leaves behind four sons, Ellis Kyle, Joshua, Scott, and Jeremy, two daughters, Alissa and Amy, as well as three grandchildren, Jordan, Marinella and Damien.

ASHEVILLE, NC Joseph Raymond Ray Broadway, Jr., age: 78 of 505 Bluebird Ridge, died: Wednesday, Jan. 30that his home.
Mr. Broadway was born to Joseph R. Broadway, Sr. and Frances Chick Broadway on Oct. 6, 1923 in Summerton, SC. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp having served as a navigator on B-29’s during World War II. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in engineering in 1950. In 1966, he moved to the Asheville area with Carolina Power & Light Company, with whom he was employed as an engineer until his retirement in 1988 after 26 years of service. Ray was also a builder, and built apartments and homes in the Asheville and Weaverville areas and postal facilities throughout the southeast.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Mary S. Lib Singleton Broadway, daughter, Mrs. Dianne Hughes and her husband, Bud of Weaverville, sons, Dante E. Broadway and his wife, Myra also of Weaverville and Dr. David R. Broadway of Denver, Colorado, sister, Frances Ann Tyner of Hartsville, SC, and seven grandchildren, Shanna H. Carter & her husband, Brandon, Lindsay Hughes, Carly, Audrey, Natalie, Jake & Morgan Broadway.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday in First Baptist Church, Asheville of which he was a member with the Rev. Dr. Guy Sayles officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park in Weaverville, NC.

Mrs. Murray is survived by three daughters, Lynn Collins of Eutawville, S.C., Edna Goshorn and Betty Gabrielli both of Summerville, S.C., and two sons, William Mouzon Murray, Jr. and Russell Murray both of Summerville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Hay Even, 107, widow of the late Robert S. Even, died Wednesday evening at the Harter Nursing Center in Fairfax after an extended illness. Mrs. Even was born in Hampton County, March 6, 1894, a daughter of the late Wellington Oakman May and Annie Risher May. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Hampton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are, one sister, Winifred H. Calvert of Winder, Ga.; one nephew, Kirk Calvert of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and three nieces, Marjorie Gibbs of Yemassee, Catherine Whetstone of St. Matthews, and Billie Sanders of Allendale. SUNDERLAND, John
John F. "Pete" Sunderland, 86, of Marion Center, Pa., and formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at the Indiana Hospital, Indiana, Pa.
He was a veteran of the Royal Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Sunderland worked as an electrician for 33 years with Bethlehem Steel at the Ship Repair Key Highway in Baltimore, Md.
Following his retirement, he and his wife, the former Elizabeth "Betty" (Bean) moved to South Carolina to be near his sister, Grace and husband Walter and his son, George Branham and family in order to escape the cold winter weather of Baltimore. While living in South Carolina for 14 years, he enjoyed his retirement by spending time feeding foxes and taking care of his goat and chickens. He and his wife Betty then moved to Spring Hill, Fla.
Mr. Sunderland is survived by his wife of 49 and a half years residing at Marion Center, Pa.; three children, George Branham of Ladson, S.C.; Deborah Phillips of Hillsdale, Pa., and Patricia Sunderland of N.Y., N.Y., seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and his sister, Elizabeth "Billie" Ritchie of West Palm Beach, Fla.

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 30, 2002, the Reverend John Holman Hutto, Jr., husband of Helen Willis Hutto, residence, James Island. The relatives and friends of The Rev. and Mrs. John Holman Hutto, Jr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former on Friday at 3:30 at the graveside in Denmark Cemetery, Denmark, S.C. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Friday between 10 and 12 noon.
Mr. Hutto was born September 21, 1921, in Smoaks, S.C., the son of John H. Hutto and Reba Jones Hutto. He attended Furman University, University of South Carolina, and graduated with Masters of Sacred Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as Minister of Music at Temple Baptist, Ruston, La., Citadel Square Baptist, Charleston, Northbridge Baptist Church, Charleston, First Baptist Church, North Charleston and St. Phillip's Episcopal Church in Charleston. He also served as a vocal coach at the Gaillard Auditorium on July 4 in the mid 1980's. He served in W.W.II with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; two sons, John H. Hutto, III, of Columbia, S.C., and Oliver Willis Hutto of Spring, Texas; two daughters, Reba Hutto Brown of Augusta, Ga., and April Hutto Jones of O'Fallon, Ill.; seven grandchildren, John-Clark Brown of Savannah, Ga., Sutton Brown Stracke of New York, N.Y., Anna Nicole Hutto of Atlanta, Ga., and Laura Hutto Porzenski of Charlotte, N.C., Christen Elizabeth Jones and Stephanie Leigh Jones, both of O'Fallon, Ill., and Suzanne Dunning of Atlanta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, James Austin Porzenski, Katherine Holman Porzenski, Bryson Jeffrey Porzenski, Ashley Dunning.
