REEVESVILLE, S.C. - Woodrow Craven, age 84, of 6336 Badham Drive, Reevesville died Tuesday at his home. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Betty Hughes and Steve Brandenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Field United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Craven was born November 16, 1917 in Walterboro a son of the late George and Jessie Jackson Craven. He was a retired employee of LTV Steel Mill in Youngstown, Ohio. KINGSTREE - Pauline Hagwood Champagne, 73, died Wednesday, February 6, in a Jacksonville, Fla., nursing home. Mrs. Champagne was born in Franklin, N.C., a daughter of the late Roger and Rebecca Robbins Hagwood. She was a retired waitress and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Surviving are, two daughters, Terry Sue H. Notchick of Jacksonville, and Joann H. Worster of Johnston, R.I., two brothers, Ted Hagwood of Conway and Roger Hagwood of Orangeburg, a granddaughter, Dani Worster of Johnston, R.I.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, in WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, conducted by Rev. Melvin Stalvey. Burial will be in Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
SCHMOLLINGER, Gary
Retired Navy Master Chief Storekeeper Gary L. Schmollinger, 63, died peacefully at his home in Hanahan on the morning of Wednesday, February 6, 2002. The funeral service will be 10:30 o'clock, Friday morning, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:30 Friday afternoon. Friends may call at this evening (Thursday) at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m.
Master Chief Schmollinger was born March 23, 1938, in East St. Louis, Ill., a son of Horace and Virginia Vail Schmollinger. He was reared in Lebanon, Ill., and graduated from Lebanon High School. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the federal government.
He is survived by his wife Virginia D. Schmollinger and her children Eric Richburg, Kirk Richburg, all of Hanahan, and Connie Dyches of Barnwell, S.C. His sister and brother-in-law, Carol Sue and Harry Gill of Edwardsville, Ill., four nieces, two nephews, ten great-nieces and nephews and four step-grandchildren also survive.

George Frederick "Freddie" Withrock, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died Wednesday in a local hospital. Surviving are his brother, John William Withrock of Charleston Heights, S.C. and one sister, Mary Kruger Withrock of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and his many nieces and nephews.

Born July 8, 1923 in Hartsville, S.C., Mr. Tyner was the son of the late Keith Mack Tyner, Sr. and Dollie Nicholson Tyner. He was a retired Senior Chief in the US Navy (23 yrs) and served in World War II and Korea. Mr. Tyner was a delegate for the SC Silver Haired Legislature, and was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Charleston Rifle Club and the Fleet Reserve.
Surviving Mr. Tyner are his wife, Annie Putnam Tyner of North Charleston; a daughter and son-in-law, Dollie T. Pilson and Randy Pilson of Summerville, a daughter-in-law, Dollie T. Pilson and Randy Pilson of Summerville; three sons, Mack Tyner and his wife, Beth of St. George, S.C., Robert E. Tyner and Byron B. Tyner, both of N. Charleston; three sisters, Mary Marivittori of Columbia, S.C., Alice Benge, Lexington, S.C. and Margie Tyner of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His first wife, Frances Tyner, preceded Mr. Tyner in death.

He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Gail Overcash; son, Jeff Overcash; step-son, Tim Arnold; step-daughter, Gay Hartmann, all of Summerville; and six grandchildren, Johnathan, Melanie, Nancy, Garrett, Abby, and Shane.

Ralph "Mac" Maxwell Hightower, Sr., husband of Marilyn Fox Hightower, of Bamberg, S.C., died Tuesday, February 5, 2002, 7:30 p.m., in a Bamberg hospital after an extended illness.
Born August 27, 1923, in Denmark, S.C., the son of the late Auther B. Hightower and Chessie Herndon Hightower. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Bamberg. He was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office.
Mr. Hightower enjoyed fishing and hunting. A WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served from 1942-1944. He landed in Africa at Casablanca in 1942, then was re-stationed in the Pacific area to Samoa and Australia.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2002, 3 p.m., in Trinity United Methodist Church, Bamberg. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Dennis. Burial in Bamberg County Memory Gardens, Bamberg, S.C.
Survivors include, his wife of 49 years; one daughter, Elizabeth and husband Eddie Hutto of Cope, S.C.; two sons, Ralph M. Jr., and Paula Hightower of Chapin, S.C., Chester and Tammy Hightower of Bamberg, S.C., three grandchildren, Jamie and Orrin Hightower, and Eric Hutto. A number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Hightower was the youngest of 12 children. Two sisters, Kathleen H. Hartzog of Orangeburg, S.C., Berta H. Brunson of Lexington, S.C.

Master Sergeant Furman M. Reynolds, Jr., U.S. Army, Retired, of Summerville, died on the evening of Tuesday, February 5, 2002. Mr. Reynolds was born May 11, 1923, in Greenville, S.C., the son of Furman M., Sr., and May Belle Bentley Reynolds. A graduate of Charleston High School, he served in World War II, Korea, where he earned the Bronze Star, and at 3rd Army Headquarters at Ft. McPherson prior to his retirement in 1972. He later worked at the Atlanta Public Works Department. He was a member of Cayce Lodge #384 and Ridge Baptist Church.
His wife, Augusta Payne Reynolds and his daughter Joyce Diane Reynolds preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Furman M. Reynolds, III, of Louisville, Ky., and David B. Reynolds of Summerville, S.C.; his daughters, Janis R. Jones and Karen R. Buck, also of Summerville. He is survived by his grandchildren, David A. Fairman, Furman M. Reynolds, IV, Kelly L. Knight, Collin R. Webb, Amanda R. Buck, Joshua benDavid Reynolds, Joy May Lyn Jones, and JoAnna Jones. His great-grandchildren, Daniel Knight, Micah Knight, Samuel Fairman, Laurian Fairman, Patterson Webb, Jason Alexander Webb, Grayson Scott Webb and Tyanna Dingle also survive.

COTTAGEVILLE - Hubert Judson Dandridge, Jr., 77, of 10424 Cottageville Hwy., retired owner and operator of Center Grocery in Cottageville and widower of Gladys Bridge Dandridge, died Tuesday at a local Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel of the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME, conducted by Rev. Jakie Walters. Interment will be in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak.
Mr. Dandridge was born April 30, 1924 in Cottageville, a son of the late Hubert Judson Dandridge and Mary Redman Dandridge. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and was a lifetime Deacon. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, having served in Europe.
Surviving are: son and daughter-in-law, H.J. (Danny) Dandridge, III and Margaret Dandridge, son, Richard L. Dandridge, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy D. Berry and Ronald Berry all of Cottageville, a brother, Phillip L. Dandridge of Winnsboro, four grandchildren, Jason (Jean) Dandridge of Cottageville, Becky (Robbie) Hooker of Walterboro, Ryan Berry of Cottageville and Christopher Dandridge of Atlanta and two great-grandchildren, Rachel Dandridge and Daryn Hooker.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Fred Parker Funeral Home.
