BOUDOLF, SR., Victor

Mr. Boudolf, Sr., was born August 15, 1913, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Henry Boudolf and Louise Josephine Albertz Boudolf. He attended primary school in Zebrugge, Belgium, and after the fourth grade the family returned to Charleston and lived on Wall Street in Ansonborough. The son of a stone mason, he attended Murray Vocational School. He would later serve in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer McFarland. In 1938 he began his career as a machinist apprentice at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired in 1974 as superintendent of the machine shop. A self-taught horticulturist, he was an avid camellia grower and long standing member of the Coastal Carolina Camellia Society. A member of Charleston Elks Lodge #242. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He enjoyed dancing and water skiing well into his 80's.
He is survived by two sons, Victor A. Boudolf, Jr., and Edward M. Boudolf, both of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Josephine B. Willis of Newton, Ala.; three brothers, Albert Boudolf of Chicago, Ill., Joseph Boudolf of Charleston, S.C., and Henry Boudolf of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one sister, Louise B. Withrock of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren, Victor A. Boudolf, III, David M. Boudolf, Kyndra E. Boudolf, Debora R. West, Amy R. Pruitt and Harold G. Creech; three great-grandchildren, Erin M. West, W. Russell West and Alex M. Pruitt.

David John Lennon, 37, of Summerville, husband of Cynthia Steadman Lennon died Saturday at his residence.

He was a graduate of Shoreham Wading River High School in Long Island, N.Y. He served in the United States Navy. He was a Pipefitter for R.H. Allen Construction Company.
Surviving are his wife and parents; a step son, James Boyd Johnson IV of Summerville; a step daughter, Shawn Hali Johnson of Summerville; brothers, Thomas George Lennon of Pennsylvania and Richard John Lennon of Charleston; sisters, Cynthia Bradley of Pennsylvania and Jean Marie Lennon of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Lennon.

DEWITT, SR., John
FREEPORT, FLA. - John W. "Johnnie" DeWitt, Sr., 79, died Saturday, February 9, 2002 in Twin City's Hospital in Niceville, Florida after an illness.
Mr. DeWitt was born in Pamplico, S.C.; a son of the late Cordie W. and Zelma Farley Haines DeWitt. He was retired from the US Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Mr. DeWitt served on the USS Tennessee, one week prior to Pearl Harbor and then was on the Marblehead. During WWII, he served in the Pacific, North Atlantic, Mediterranean and also the Normandy Invasion. He served in Korea, Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis and in the Gulf of Tonkin during Vietnam. Prior to retirement, he was Chief Master of Arms of the Anti Submarine Warfare Base in San Diego, Calif.
Surviving are one daughter, Dawn Celeste Bellanca of Arcadia, Calif.; one son, John W. "Jack" DeWitt, Jr. of Florence, S.C.; one grandson, Martin Connaly of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Willys James "Jimmy" DeWitt of Lake City, S.C.; three half-sisters, Marilyn D. (Lenair) Altman and Sybil D. (Jimmy) Bennett both of Georgetown, S.C. and Nora D. (Johnny) Cates of Dallas, Texas; a companion, Barbara Still of Freeport, Fla.
Mr. DeWitt was predeceased by his first wife Carolyn Foster DeWitt; his second wife, Carey P. DeWitt; three sisters, Dorothy Daniels, Mollie Brown and Kitty Hyman; one brother, Charles Beale "CB" DeWitt; step-mother, Lenora DeWitt Honors.
Graveside service will be at 12 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2002, in the Mt. Elim Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Pamlico, S.C., with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

EICHHORN, Kathleen
Kathleen Prescott Eichhorn entered into eternal sleep on February 10, 2002, resulting from a ten year battle with breast cancer. She was a partner in Charleston Business Associates with her husband Richard S. Eichhorn who survives her. She entered into business with her husband after retiring from a 25 year career as a second grade teacher at Wilson Hill Elementary School in Worthington, Ohio. She resided at 816 Harbor Place Drive in Charleston, S.C. 29412 with her husband Richard S. Eichhorn. In addition, her daughters, Elizabeth Arndt of Durham, N.C. with grandchildren, Jeffrey and Madeline and Addie Bourne of Lovettsville, Va. with grandchildren Kathleen and Michael and her sister Elizabeth List of Columbus, Ohio, also survive her. Other survivors include stepchildren, David C. Eichhorn of Woodland Hills, Calif., Richard A. Eichhorn of Littleton, Colo. and Susan L. Eichhorn of Medina, Ohio.
A Memorial Service was held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church at Meeting and Broad Street in downtown Charleston on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. and will be followed by a burial of her ashes in the churchyard columbarium.
