WEIK, Lillie
Lillie Varner Ferrer Weik, 70, of St. Johns Bethel Road, Moncks Corner, S.C., an assistant locksmith and co-owner of Weik's Locksmith Service, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m., Friday morning, March 1, 2002, in the Gateway Community Church. Interment will be in the Williams Cemetery. Friends may call at Gateway Community Church from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2002. Directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.
Mrs. Weik was born July 4, 1931, in Moncks Corner, S.C., a daughter of John Varner and Martha Burbage Varner. She was a council member of the Wassamassaw Indian Tribe and a foster parent. She was a member of Gateway Community Church.
Surviving are, her husband, Russell Cassell Weik; three daughters, Magdalena "Maggie" Gunter of Perry, Fla.; Raymond "Rae" Ferrer-Klocek of Manchester, N.H., Amy Weik Going of Moncks Corner, S.C.; four sons, Dr. Larry Ferrer of Fort Mill, S.C., Jose Farmer of Tallahassee, Fla., John Edwin "Eddie" Weik and Russell Christopher "Chris" Weik, both of Moncks Corner; two sisters, Ruby Calimag and Gracie Bugauison, both of Moncks Corner; and 13 grandchildren.

Kathleen E. "Pat/Pattie" Westover Brigham Poling, 82, of Goose Creek, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, February 24, 2002. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Goose Creek Church of God (Goose Creek Worship Center) directed by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. Inurnment will be private.
Born in Westover, Penn., she was a daughter of the late Kenneth M. and Florence Leonard Westover. Mrs. Poling was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of the Goose Creek Church of God. She was predeceased in death by her first husband, Robert W. Brigham, who, as a member of the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles", jumped into Normandy and later gave his life in action; and two brothers, Samm Leonard and Bruce L. Westover.
"Grandma", as she was affectionately and commonly known by all, is survived by a daughter, Darla B. "Baby" Brewer and her husband Phillip "Sonny Nic" of Goose Creek; a son, Gerald "My Jerry" Brigham and his wife Emmi, of Coupeville, Washington; sisters, Marie L. Vlasak of Vestal, N.Y., and Donna Lee Craig, of Towanda, Penn.; brothers, William W. Westover of Waverly, N.Y., Ross C. Westover of Maine, N.Y., and James A. Leonard of Oakdale, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Sharon "Barbie Doll" Cone, Erik Gerald Brigham, Ingrid Brigham Williams, Lisa "Grandma's Precious Darling" Jones and Kristen "Lambie" Lash; nine great-grandchildren, Trey, Brandon, Jordan, Lauren, Caleb, Christian, Logan, Evan, and Dylan; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and Ethel Songer, (a close friend whom she considered a sister); she was the former wife of Daniel C. Poling of Round O.

FLORENCE, S.C. - Paul W. Worsham, 85, of 1032 S. Edisto Drive, Florence, S.C., died Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 2002, at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Worsham was born in Clarendon County, S.C. a son of the late Hugh Yancy and Corrie Mae Webber Worsham. He was a graduate of Olanta High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served 4 years in the European Theatre. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He retired in 1982 after 43 years as the Southern Division Forester for Carolina Power and Light Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Victoria Worsham.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Marguerite Johnston Worsham of Florence; 2 brothers, Charles M Worsham and Hugh McBride Worsham both of Florence; 1 sister, Sibyl W. Farmer and her husband Epp Farmer of Florence; 2 nieces, Pamela E. Farmer and Dale Worsham both of Florence; 1 nephew David E. Farmer and his wife, Mary Farmer of Florence; 3 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church. Entombment will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by STOUDENMIRE-DOWLING FUNERAL HOME.

Kate P. Bond, 80, of Charleston died Wednesday, February 27th at a local hospital. Born in Ray City, Ga., to the late John T. and Fannie Kirby Peacock. Mrs. Bond was married to the late Alfred F. Bond for 20 years. Mrs. Bond was a graduate of Oglethorpe School for Nurses. She served in the United States Navy during WWII as a nurse. Mrs. Bond later retired from Medical University of South Carolina after 28 years of being a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the American Nurses Association. Mrs. Bond is survived by her three sons, Kirby Bond and wife Barbara of Charleston, Paul Bond, and Michael Bond both of Charleston. Also survived by three grandchildren, Lora Franks of Summerville, Ryan Bond and Justin Bond both of Charlotte, N.C. Two great-grandchildren also survived Mrs. Bond, Brendan Franks and Amanda Franks both of Summerville. CHESAPEAKE - Bernard Lehder, Lt. Col. USAF Ret., died, February 26, 2002 in his home.
Mr. Lehder, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force with service in World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He also retired as Director of Human Resources at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, Md.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Lehder; a daughter, Marty Lehder Jackson and husband Charles A. of Isle of Palms, S.C.; three step-daughters, Charlene Knowles of Chesapeake, Virginia Walters of Manassas, Va., Sharon Williams of Palatka, Fla.; a step-son, Robert Moore of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren including Wiley H. Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth by Rabbi Arthur Z. Steinberg. Entombment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Bott was born June 15, 1923, in Ridgewood, N.J., the son of William Walter Bott and Leda Stark Bott. He was a retired Vice President with Young and Rubicam Advertising Agency. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W.II.

She was married to the late William Thurman White and was also preceded in death by two sons, Stewart White and Christopher White, two sisters, Clara Baker Leach and Marie Baker Prescott, and by a brother, B.W. Baker.

ALLENDALE - Mr. Clyde Willard Boyles, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence in Bluffton after an extended illness. He was 82.
Mr. Boyles was born in Allendale on October 4, 1919 the son of the late Jamie Boyles and Lucille Boyles Harden. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Allendale where he was an Honorary Deacon.

PAPPAS, Jimmy
Jimmy Lee Pappas, 69, of Charleston, S.C. was born in Asheville, N.C. He was the son of Lenny Davis and Arthur Demitrius Pappas. He died on February 24, 2002 from complications from surgery. Mr. Pappas showed strength and courage that touched the hearts of all who knew him. There will be a void where he once was. We know not why he is gone, but we do know he is at peace with the Heavenly Father. Mr. Pappas attended Sand Hill High School in Asheville, N.C., where he won a football scholarship to attend Western Carolina University, where he graduated in 1955. Mr. Pappas had an outstanding career as a Marine Corps fighter pilot, served four tours of duty in The Republic of Vietnam and retired from the Marine Corps in 1973. After a successful business career in Beaufort, S.C. he moved to Charleston in 1985, and was involved in the commercial real estate business from then until his death. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Helen Lee Pappas, grandson Nicholas A.J. Davis and his best friend Vista Anne Grayson. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 28th at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 67 Anson Street, Charleston. Military honors will follow.
