BOND, Kate
Kate P. Bond, 80, of Charleston died Wednesday, February 27th at a local hospital. Born in Ray City, Ga., to the late John T. and Fannie Kirby Peacock. Mrs. Bond was married to the late Alfred F. Bond for 20 years. Mrs. Bond was a graduate of Oglethorpe School for Nurses. She served in the United States Navy during WWII as a nurse. Mrs. Bond later retired from Medical University of South Carolina after 28 years of being a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the American Nurses Association. Mrs. Bond is survived by her three sons, Kirby Bond and wife Barbara of Charleston, Paul Bond, and Michael Bond both of Charleston. Also survived by three grandchildren, Lora Franks of Summerville, Ryan Bond and Justin Bond both of Charlotte, N.C., and Joey Bond of Florida. Two great-grandchildren also survived Mrs. Bond, Brendan Franks and Amanda Franks both of Summerville. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1st at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Gerald Thomas Barbaris, 60, of Charleston, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born in Patterson, N.J., and was the son of the late Joseph Edward Babarisi, Sr., and Jessie Yonkman Barbarisi. He was a member of the North Charleston Church of Christ. Mr. Barbaris was the former owner of Moultrie Fina and owner and operator of Jerry's Auto Repair. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. Ruth Anna Blackmon Benton, 97, died at a local hospital, Thursday, February 28, 2002. Services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2002, at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Born in Adams Run, S.C., November 21, 1904, she was the daughter of the late John Blackmon and Florence Perry Weaver. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the owner and operator of Pineygrove Mobile Park and Benton's Cleaners. Mrs. Benton was a member of the Church of the Nazerene. She was the widow of John W. Benton.
Survived by daughters, Margie Stillinger, of Orangeburg, Joyce Yost, of Connecticut, and daughter-in-law, Lillian Thompson, of Lexington, a son, James Thompson, of Bamberg. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service, 3 to 4 p.m., on Saturday.

Etheridge Alex Silvey, Jr., 56, of Charleston, died at his residence, February 27, 2002. Services will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Born in Oakland, Calif., April 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Etheridge Alex Silvey and Doris Gassaway Silvey. Mr. Silvey was a former employee of the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Boiler Shop. He was a graduate of Charleston High School, and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survived by his mother, Doris G. Silvey, of Hanahan, sister, Julia S. Rivers, of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, John Patrick Silvey, of North Charleston and Juston Silvey, of Hanahan; one niece, two nephews, one grand-nephew, and one grand-niece.

Anna Boyle Fuller died Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the Charleston Nursing Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Mrs. Fuller was born October 19, 1900 in Ossining, New York to the late James J. Boyle and Rose Farrell Boyle, and has been a resident of Charleston, S.C. since 1990. She was a graduate of St. Augustine School in Ossining, N.Y. She was at one time employed by Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. and was a founding member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ossining, N.Y. Mrs. Fuller is predeceased by her husband, Ambrose Joseph Fuller and five brothers and four sisters; five of whom died as infants. She is survived by her only daughter, Mary Jane Fuller Haft and son-in-law Norman A. Haft of Charleston, S.C.; four step-grandchildren, Wendy Kuhn, Peter Haft, Eric Haft and Amy Stubbs and ten step-great-grandchildren; three nephews of Ossining, N.Y., Thomas Darby, Joseph Darby and Donald Fuller; one grand-nephew, Steven Buckley and two grand-nieces, Barbara Ladd and Bette Scorsone. CONWAY - Charles Wesley Singleton, age 80, of Cox Ferry Road, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at Conway Hospital.
Mr. Singleton was born in Conway a son of the late Joe Dusenbury and Versia Duncan Singleton. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and retired from Dargan Construction Company as a Superintendent. Mr. Singleton was a member of the Masonic Lodge #65 AFM and was a WWII Army veteran where he served in Northern Africa and Italy. He was predeceased by his wife Auvoline Dunn Singleton.
Surviving are two sons, Danny K. GEORGETOWN - Betty McRae Cox, 65, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 in Baptist Hospital in Columbia.
Mrs. Cox was born in Georgetown on February 17, 1937, a daughter of the late George Allen McRae and Pearl Lena Rowe McRae. She lived all her life in Georgetown and was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Cox of Georgetown; a son, Mike Cox and his wife Frances of Lexington; a brother, Louie Allen McRae of Oak Island, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Taylor Cox and Caroline Cox, both of Lexington.
Funeral services will be one o'clock Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2002 at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Aldon L. Johnson. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.

He was a retired Marketing Consultant with Bell South Telephone Company. He was of the Baptist faith.

Thelma Rae Holt, 81, of Lady Lake, Fla., died Tuesday, February 26, 2002.
Mrs. Holt was retired as an executive director of the Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country after 30 years. She was born in Nitro, W.Va. She moved from Lady Lake from Ladson, S.C., in 1989. She was a Methodist. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts; WAC Vets Association, WWII Veteran Women's Army Air Corps; Founding Member of Mark Twain Library, The Villagers; served on the Board of CIC (Community Improvement Council), The Villages.
She was a graduate of Oklahoma State Women's College, and a member of the Alumni Association.

Graveside services for Thelma Rae Holt will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2002 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., with Lake County War Veterans Honor Guard officiating. Inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.

BRABHAM, JR., Henry
Henry Kearse Brabham, Jr., 66, of Columbia, S.C., died Thursday morning, February 28, 2002, in a Columbia hospital.
Born January 11, 1936, in Bamberg, S.C., the son of the late Henry Kearse Brabham, Sr., and the late Evelyn Spann Brabham.
Funeral services will be March 2, 2002, Saturday, 11 a.m., at COONER FUNERAL HOME. David Pohto will officiate. Burial will be at South End Cemetery.
Survivors include, one brother, Fletcher Spann Brabham, Sr., and his wife, Jamie, of Bamberg; brother-in-law, Pete Manos and his wife, Mary of Myrtle Beach, he is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, Mrs. Susie Coleman, Mr. Henry Manos, Mr. Dan Manos, Mr. Stat Manos, Mr. Frank Manos, Mrs. Valerie Azzarelli, Mrs. Roberta Cothran, Mr. Fletcher Spann Brabham, Jr., a number of great nieces and nephews.
