He was a retired bookkeeper with HG Harder and Son Construction in Panama city, Florida. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II.Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mollie Treadwell; two sons, Robert W. Henderson, Jr. of Charleston, and David O. EGAN, William
William " Bill" McGrath Egan, 74, of James Island, SC, husband of Marianna Elizabeth Egan and a retired Independent Contractor passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002 at his residence. He was born Monday, July 18, 1927 in Ithaca, NY, the son of William Maurice and Anne Hennessey Egan. Mr. Egan graduated from Champlain College. He enlisted into the United States Navy and served our country during World War II. He worked at the Folly Road Wal-Mart on James Island in the Painting and Hardware Department. He was also actively involved in the VFW Post 445 , the American Legion Post 147, the Knights of Columbus, attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Folly Beach and was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and of Elks Lodge 636, both in Ithaca, NY. Mr. Egan was also a Past Chairman of the Ithaca American Red Cross and a past board member of the Planning and Zoning Committee of Ithaca, NY. He loved to have fun and get involved in his community whether it was being a High School Football Official, a Kiwanis Baseball Coach or playing the drums in several bands in the Ithaca area. Mr. Egan also was the Bachelor of the Year in Ithaca, NY in 1956 the year before he was married to the love of his life. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Egan is survived by his wife of 45 years, a daughter; Tammela Suggs and her husband Daniel of James Island, SC, a son, Thomas Egan of Folly Beach, SC, two step daughters, Carol Osgood of Bradenton, FL and Joan Case of Ithaca, NY, a brother, John Egan of New Hampshire, a sister, Nancy Webster of Madison ,Wisconsin, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, ten step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Andrew Thomas Stabile, 40, formally of Charleston died Saturday, March 2nd in a local hospital in New Haven, Conn. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Dominic and Arlene Mulhall Stabile, Sr. of Charleston. He was of the Catholic denomination. He is survived by his parents, a son, Andrew Thomas Stabile, Jr., of Pennsylvania, a daughter, Michele Maria Hildebrand of New Jersey, two brothers, Dominic Stabile, Jr., of Charleston and Paul Stabile of Louisville, Ky., four sisters, Debbie Bebout of Ladson, S.C., Virginia Karst of Charleston, Vivian Blakeslee of Shelton, Conn., and Christine Kreiger of Chesterfield, Virginia. Two grandchildren, six nieces, and eight nephews also survived him. A Private Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. William Otis Prentiss, 82, of McClellanville died Monday, March 4, at a local hospital. Born in McClellanville to the late Rev. Paul Trapier Keith Prentiss and Julia Gregorie Doar Prentiss. He was a graduate of Clemson University. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Yard with over 20 years as an Electrician. He served in WWII in the Artillery unit in the United States Army under General Patton and Bradley. He was an active member and usher at St. James-Santee Episcopal Chapel of Ease Church. Mr. Prentiss had many hobbies including, boating, fishing, and his all-time favorite with many years of experience, square dancing. He was predeceased by his brothers, P.T.K. Prentiss and Samuel Doar Prentiss, also his sisters, Alice Gregorie Prentiss O'Neal, and Maria Keith Prentiss Basile. He is survived by two nephews and three nieces, Pope Jordan McClung and family of Raleigh, N.C., and Paul Trapier Prentiss and family of Huntsville, Ala., Sally Prentiss Buchanan and family of Atlanta, Ga., Judith O'Neal VanDevender and family of Severna Park, Md., and Marian O'Neal Standifer and family of McClellanville, S.C. Benjamin S. Credle, 81, husband of Annie Jo Davis Credle of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died March 3, 2002. Benjamin S. Credle was born in Swan Quarter, North Carolina a son of Nathaniel and Eloise Lupton Credle. He attended Louisburg College in Louisburg, N.C. and served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 in the 63rd Infantry Division. He was stationed in France and Germany during W.W.II and participated in the battle of the Siegfried Line. He was employed as a salesman with Swift and Co. for 23 years and with Wilson Foods for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annie Jo Davis Credle, one daughter, Sandra C. Gilbert (Bob F.) of Charleston and Charlotte, two sons, Edward Lupton Credle (Peggy) of Spring Hope, N.C., Benjamin Scott Credle (Margie) of Natchez, Miss., two sisters Janet Hood of Asheboro, N.C., Georgie Cahoon of Falls Church, Va. and eight grandchildren. Stamey and her husband Timothy Craig of Charleston and Patricia V. BRUNSON, S.C. - Mr. Franklin Pierce Sykes, Jr., 80, husband of Maxine Grace Sykes, died Wednesday morning at his residence at 361 N. Main Street in Brunson after a brief illness.Born Oct. 29, 1921 in Allendale, S.C., he was the son of the late Franklin Pierce Sykes, Sr. and Tallulah Sullivan Sykes. Mr. Sykes was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served with the 18th Battalion Seabees. He had owned and operated his own trucking company, was a member of the Buford Bridge Masonic Lodge in Fairfax, the Brunson Lions Club and was active with the Baptist Men's Association at Camp Jackson. He was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church.Surviving besides his wife of the home are 3 daughters: Mary Beth Martin of Yemassee, Talula Peterson of Washington, Iowa, and Martha Ellis of Round Rock, Tex.; 1 brother: Earl Sykes of Fairfax; 2 sisters: Faladie Harrison of Athens, Ga. and Elizabeth Keller of Hull, Ga.
