GEORGETOWN - Lamon Ray Wheeler, 65, retired employer of Lance, Inc., died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at his residence after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery near Andrews.
Visitation will be 7-9 Monday evening, March 11, 2002, at the Georgetown Chapel.
MOLONY, Emily
Emily Louise Carter Molony, 82, of Charleston, died Saturday evening, March 9, 2002 in a local hospital. She was the widow of Henry A. "Gus" Molony, Sr. She was born July 4, 1919 in Charleston to Grayson S. and Louise Scott Carter. She was a graduate of Memminger High School and Rice Business College. She retired as vice president of Molony Distributing Company. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Ladies of Charity and active in the school's PTA for many years. She was also a charter member of the Shaftsbury Investment Club and the Quis Qui Auxiliary. She was predeceased by a brother, G. Stacy Carter. She is survived by a son, Henry A. Molony, two daughters, Patricia M. Miller and Margaret M. Kulp, all of Mt. Pleasant, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, March 12, 2002 at 10 a.m., burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. GABLE - Linda Richardson Whitesel Carraway, 53, wife of Alton Carraway, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at her home in Gable.
Born November 5, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Dr. George and Jeane Gardner Richardson. She was a registered nurse, and was of the Methodist faith. She was first married to Carl Whitesel.
Surviving are her husband of Gable; two daughters, Faith Carraway of Goose Creek and Noelle Britt of Loraine, Ohio; a son, Carl Whitsel of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Dawn Kissinger of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Larry Richardson of Gable; one step-son, Alton Carraway, Jr., of Aiken; one step-daughter, Linda Dawn Horres of Aiken; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning. Rev. Kevin Cribb will officiate.

VEATCH, Richard
SANTEE - Mr. Richard Milton Veatch, 85, of 432 Santee Dr., Santee, S.C., died Sunday in a Burke, Va., nursing center.
A memorial service will be announced by AVINGER FUNERAL HOME OF HOLLY HILL.
Mr. Veatch was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, a son of the late Harry Ellis Veatch and Amelia Hildebrand Veatch. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired mechanical engineer. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a member of the Fishers of Men and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Eutawville.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Vivian Trask of Springfield, Va., and Mrs. Linda Wormworth of Vancouver; grandchildren, Kim Englesjord of Richmond, British Columbia, Colin Wormworth of Vancouver, Richard Trask of Springfield, Va., and Tiffany Royce of Fairfax, Va.; and three great-grandchildren.

RAMSEY, Ashton
Ashton Elizabeth Ramsey, infant daughter of John and Kim Anderson Ramsey of Goose Creek died on the afternoon of Saturday, March 9, 2002. The funeral services for Ashton will be 3 o'clock, Tuesday, at the graveside, in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Royale will officiate. Friends are invited to visit with the family this evening (Monday) from 5 until 7 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL.
In addition to her parents, Ashton is survived by her two brothers, Austin and Hunter Ramsey; her paternal grandparents, Bert Ramsey of North Charleston and Mary Ramsey of Goose Creek; her maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Bruce Vassar of Goose Creek and John and Mary Anderson of North Charleston. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Mrs. Beasley was born December 19, 1920, in Crawfordville, Ga., the daughter of Harley and Martha Simpson Clark. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Company as a switchboard operator and catalog sales clerk. Mrs. Beasley was a member of the Sears Retiree Organization, a charter member of Harbor Light Baptist Church, and the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years of James Island; three sons, James W. Beasley (Mary Ann), John W. Beasley (Tutti), and Joseph W. Beasley (Donna), all of James Island; one sister, Isabelle C. Davis of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Wendy Hull, Billy Beasley, Casie Beasley, J.J. Beasley, Jesse Beasley, Aaron Beasley, and David Alosi; and two great grandchildren, Jared and Emma Hull.

Mrs. Howard was born January 13, 1944, in Ilion, N.Y., daughter of the late Earl Brewer and Victoria Boyer. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. She graduated from the Charleston, West Virginia, School of Commerce and was a former president of the Drayton Hall Middle School P.T.A.
Surviving are her husband, of Charleston, S.C.; her mother, Victoria Boyer and husband John Becker of Ilion, N.Y.; two sons, James Howard and Steven Howard and wife Stacy, all of Charleston, S.C.; four brothers, Edward Brewer, Richard Brewer, George Becker and Jonathan Becker, all of New York State; three sisters, Nancy Cotton, Sharon Rogers, and Ella Newberry all of New York State; grandchildren, Timothy James Howard and Victoria Marie Howard of Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her sister Donna Marie Brewer.

GULDAN, Earl
SUMMERTON - Earl Andrew "George" Guldan, 90, widower of Billie Duke Guldan, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at his son's home in Sumter.
Born September 17, 1911, in Sandusky, Ohio, he was a son of the late George J. Guldan, Sr., and the late Kathryn Snider Guldan. He was a retired home builder and real estate appraiser in Sumter, Lee and Clarendon Counties. Upon his retirement in 1976, he continued to do furniture refinishing and woodwork at his shop in Summerton. He had learned his craft from his father at the Jackson-Guldan Violin Company in Columbus, Ohio. He was a W.W.II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Summerton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one son, George J. Guldan, Jr., of Sumter, and daughter-in-law, Susan Sowdon Guldon. Two grandsons, George J. Guldan, III, of Columbia, and Bradley S. Guldan of Sumter, a great-granddaughter, Shelby Ann Guldan of Sumter. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marion Conrad, Ruth Kunz, Kate Steward, and Dorothy Guldan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, in the Summerton Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, and at other times at the home, 25 S. Church St., Summerton.

CARROLL, Cecil
Cecil Wesley Carroll, 74, of North Charleston, died March 9, 2002 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Born in Charleston County, he was a son of the late Howell M. and Morine Canady Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a graduate of Clemson University Class of 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering. Mr. Carroll retired from Southern Electrical Division Naval Facilities and Engineering Command as the design division branch manager. He later then worked as a consultant for James Island County Park. Mr. Carroll, a long time scouter, he helped form pack and troop #463 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was awarded the Silver Beaver and the Vigil in the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Carroll was one of the founders of Chatooga Lake Club, and a charter member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary T. Carroll of the home, one daughter, Sarah Brooks of North Charleston, two sons, Glen Carroll of Knightsville, Bruce Carroll of Sarasota, Fla., one sister, Jewell Brown of Ravenel. Also, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 step-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters and 2 nephews and 3 nieces.

Mr. Wheeler was born March 8, 1937, in Wallace, N.C., a son of Willie H. Wheeler, Sr. and Leola Hardesty Wheeler. He was retired in 1996 from Lance, Inc. and retired in 2001 from Neighbor Care. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was predeceased by a son, David Wheeler.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Katie Kirtin Wheeler of Georgetown, are four sons, Clayton Wheeler of Andrews, Joseph "Joey" Wheeler and Shane Wheeler of Georgetown, and John S. Wheeler of Tampa, Fla., four daughters, Cindy W. Cassidy of Hamlet, N.C., Bonnie W. Miller of Dunn, N.C., Janet W. Johnson of Bennettsville, and Sabrina Wheeler of Georgetown; two brothers, Charles Wheeler of Vincetown, N.J. and Willie H. Wheeler, Jr. of Wallace, N.C.; four sisters, Katrina W.
