Dorothy Tennant Conrad, M.Ed., Ph.D., 48, the wife of Steven N. Conrad, of Ravenel, S.C., died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at her residence. Dr. Conrad was born March 21, 1953, in Columbia, S.C., the daughter of John and Martha Hope Tennant. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and received her Masters in Education at U.S.C., her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Dr. Conrad was a mental health consultant with Childrens' Diagnostics of S.C. SPENCER, SR., Robert
Robert Thompson Spencer, Sr., 86, of the Isle of Palms, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2002, in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Born in Merrells Inlet, S.C., August 28, 1915, he was the son of the late Captain and Mrs. Robert H. Spencer, who was the last lighthouse keeper at North Island Lighthouse in Georgetown, S.C. He served in the CCC's Infantry in the early 1930's. He was an army veteran of World War II. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 35 years and was a superintendent in the Public Works Department.
He is survived by, a son, Robert Thompson, Jr., of the Isle of Palms, a daughter, Frances S. Pruitt and her husband Vann of Spartanburg, a sister, Geraldine Spencer Hall of Charleston, and grandchildren, Ronnie, Brent, Mark, Michael.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, S.C.

Mr. Phillips was born in Dayton, Ohio, a son of Charles W. Phillips, III, of Musingen, Switzerland, and Mabel Jones Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. He was self-employed.
Surviving are his father, Charles W. Phillips, III, and his father's wife, Katharina Phillips of Musingen, Switzerland, mother, Mabel Jones Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., two sons, Charles W. Phillips, V, and Terry J. Phillips, both of Mt. Pleasant, one daughter, Amanda R. Phillips, of Mt. Pleasant, two brothers, Richard Phillips and Andrew Phillips, both of Mt. Pleasant, one sister, Jenny Whittle and her husband, Eugene of Mt. Pleasant, his maternal grandmother, Hazel Rhoden and his paternal grandmother, Audrey Phillips, both of Dayton, Ohio, two nephews, Chris Sowder and Jonathan Whittle, one niece, Lisa Phillips, and close friends, Eugene Busche and Donna and Tessa Bennett. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Phillips.

Eugene A. Dukes, Sr., 89, died on the evening of Monday, March 11, 2002. His funeral service will be 1:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2002, at the graveside in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. Dukes was born October 6, 1912, in Emanuel County, Ga., the son of the late Allen T. and Lilla Peoples Dukes. He was a retired electrician and a member of Isle of Palms Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Vaughn Dukes, on December 25, 1997.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene A. (Becky) Dukes, Jr., of Franklin, N.C., and Preston (Rene) Dukes of Mt. Pleasant, his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn (George) Sanchez of Moncks Corner and Elaine (Ernie) Torres of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Louise James and Alma Rushing, both of Georgia.

MOSIMANN, Elise
Elise Madeleine Mosimann of Charleston, died Saturday, March 9, 2002 at a local hospital. She was the daughter of Thomas Francis and Elise de Vineau Mosimann. She was a graduate of the College of Charleston and the Emory University School of Library Science. She was a librarian at St. Andrews High School and Winthrop Training School. Later she returned to Charleston and was a librarian at Memminger High School and Murray Vocational High School. She was also Supervisor of Elementary School Libraries in Charleston. She was head of the Extension Department of the Charleston County Library and later became head of the Children's Department from which she retired. She loved children and young people and many loved her. She served as President of the South Carolina Library Association, President of the Charleston Pilot Club and President of the Charleston Deanery of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was very active in her church, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. She sang for many years in the adult choir, under the direction of her mother. She worked actively with the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy, driving to the mission on John's Island and assisting them with transportation when needed. She was a counselor at Camp St. Mary's for many summers. She is survived by four sisters, Octavie Mosimann of Chicago, IL, Louise M. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Lillie M. Sexton of Fairfax, VA, Denyse M. Mouzon of Alexandria, VA, and one brother, James E. Mosimann of Rockville, MD, twenty-four nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend her liturgy of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 13, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 10:00 AM, with interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Lorelle Mills Brewington Bouton, 68, died March 11, 2002, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cookeville, Tenn.
Lorelle Bouton was born December 2, 1933, in Cookeville, Tenn., the daughter of the late John Mills and the late Hattie (Presley) Mills. She was a member of Knights Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert Bouton.
Funeral services will be at Whitson Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at 2 p.m. Visitation after 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2002. Burial in Marlow Cemetery. Bro. Russell Miller and Bro. Kerry Higgins will officiate.

Mrs. Priester died Saturday, March 9, 2002. Born in Charleston, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Edmund Allen Armstrong and Mary Conlon Armstrong. She was the office manager at Palmetto Dermatology and was a member of the South Carolina Medical Managers Association and St. Peters Catholic Church.
Surviving are son, Richard Allen Priester, Jr., of Columbia; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Priester of Columbia; and sister, Gail Armstrong Waite of Augusta, Ga. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Armstrong Miller.

Mrs. Pagliaro was born October 24, 1919, in Trenton, N.J., the daughter of Fabian Ahlm and Linnea Blom Ahlm. Her father was a civil engineering graduate of Upsalla University before he and his wife immigrated to the USA from Sweden. Her family including four brothers and sisters, settled on Staten Island, N.Y., where she also married and raised her family.
She is survived by a son, Lynn A. Pagliaro of Kiawah Island, S.C.; one brother, Earl Ames of Grants Pass, Ore.; three grandchildren, Lance Pagliaro, Bradley Pagliaro and Amy Ramsey; 11 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Sanders Howell of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Sandra Howell of Goose Creek, S.C., and Lisa Howell of Charleston, S.C.; a son, William "Billy" Howell, III, of Beaufort, S.C.; five grandchildren, Tommy, Tyler, Jessica, Leah and William Howell, IV. Mr. Howell was pre-deceased by his twin sister, Muriel Wyman.
