GRIMBALL, Pauline
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of March 13, 2002, Pauline Mikell Grimball, widow of Edward L. Grimball, Jr. Residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services, Saturday, at 11 o'clock in St. James Episcopal Church, James Island. Interment, Churchyard. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Friday between 5 and 7 o'clock.
Mrs. Grimball was born October 1, 1917, in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of William Hinson Mikell and Cecile Lebby Mikell. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, where she sang in the church choir for over 50 years. At her death, she was the oldest baptized member of the church.
She is survived by a son, Edward L. Grimball, III, of James Island; a daughter, Pauline M. Grimball of James Island, and one grandson, Edward L. Grimball, IV, of Charleston, S.C.

PROSSER, Willa Mae
LAKE CITY - Mrs. Willa Mae Matthews Prosser, 67, wife of the late Willie Joe Prosser, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at her residence in Garden City after an illness.
Mrs. Prosser was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Jonas T. and Maude Jordan Matthews. She retired from Wachovia Bank of Lake City and was a member of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Mae Wall Sunday School Class.
Survivors include, two daughters, Brenda (Roger) Marlowe of Manning and Cindy (John) King of Clinton; two sons, Joey (Millie) Prosser of John's Island and Tony (Beth) Prosser of Manning; one sister, Roy Lee M. Hutto of Scranton; one brother, Harry James Matthews of Conway; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2002, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will have visitation from 7:00 -- 9:00 P.M. Friday evening in the funeral home and at other times at the home of: Brenda and Roger Marlowe, 4145 June Burn Road, Manning, SC.

RIEGER, Caroline
CAMDEN, S.C. - Graveside services for Caroline Houser Rieger, 89, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Dr. William F. Summers will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Caroline H. Rieger, widow of Richard Warren Rieger, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at the Presbyterian Home of S.C., Summerville. Born in Maxton, N.C. on December 12, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Dorus Oliver and Mabel Wooten Houser. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Camden; and was for many years an executive secretary for Skyline Manufacturing Company in Camden.
Surviving are her son Richard Warren Rieger, Jr. and his wife Juliana Burns Rieger of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren Richard Warren Rieger, III of Columbia and Caroline Rieger James of Spartanburg; three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rieger was predeceased by her brother Dorus Oliver Houser, Jr.

RABIDUE, James
James F. Rabidue, 76, formerly of Charleston, passed away on March 2, 2002.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle, 6650 Dorchester Rd., N. Charleston. Inurnment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a son, James Rabidue, Jr.; daughters, Gail Hutchinson and Linda Rabidue; and six siblings, Viola Whittington of Charleston, Pearl Hamel of Calif., Mary Moise of Mass., Richard Radibue of Colo., Cecile Brindamour of Calif. and Lily Gesner of Calif.
Local arrangements are being handled by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME.

DAWSON, Denise
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Dawson, II, of Moncks Corner, S.C., are invited to attend the funeral services for the latter 11:00 a.m. this Thursday morning in the Oakley Road Church of God. PENDER, Jr., Charles
Charles Milton "Wimpy" Pender, Jr., 87, of Bonneau Beach, a retired crane operator with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Thursday at a Charleston hospital. The funeral will be at 2 P.M., Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Bonneau. Burial directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in Summerville Cemetery.
Mr. Pender was born January 24, 1915 in Blackville, SC, a son of Charles Milton Pender, Sr. and Mabel Smith Pender. He attended North Charleston Schools and was a graduate of Porter Military Academy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonneau where he served as a Deacon for a number of years. He was a charter member of the North Area Old Friends Association. He was the widower of Vera Florence Infinger Pender.
Surviving are a son, Frank M. Pender of James Island, sister, Betty Sue Oliver of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. JUDY, Vesta
REEVESVILLE - Mrs. Vesta W. Judy, 78 years of age, of 281 Old Mill Pond Rd. died Wednesday a.m. in the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Mrs. Judy was born in Orangeburg Co. A daughter of the late Clarence and Geneva Nettles Wimberly, and the widow of late Vandy T. Judy Sr. She was a member of the Old St. George Baptist Church and a life long resident of the community. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 3:00 p.m. at the Old St. George Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Ethridge and the Rev. Steve Kittrell. Burial will be in the church yard. Survived by three sons, Mr. Vandy T. Judy Jr. Mr. C. F. Judy, and Mr. Hiriman Judy, all of Reevesville, one daughter, Mrs. Gayle J. Pace of Branchville, one brother Mr. Floyd Wimberly of Branchville, three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Mae Brodie, Mrs. Ruth Shuman, and Mrs. Anna Bell Mosley all of North Charleston, ten grand children, eight great-grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Legrande Huggins, Roy Judy, Timmy Judy, Jimmy Judy, Kenneth Stroble, and Harry Wimberly.

BENNETT, Star
WALTERBORO - Mr. Star Capers Bennett, 76, of 2526 Green Pond Highway died Wednesday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Franklin Capers Bennett and Alice Chassereau Bennett. He was a retired carpenter with J. C. Smoak Construction Company. He was a Methodist and an avid hunter and fishermen.
Surviving are a sister, Alice B. Boatwright of Cottageville and three nieces, Kim Reeves of Cottageville, Abbie Murray of Walterboro and Scarlet Boatwright of Cottageville. He was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil Bennett and Billy Bennett and by a sister, Sunshine Bennett.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.

GRAY, Russell
Col. Russell Earl Gray USAF (Ret.), 88, of Charleston, died suddenly Thursday, March 14th at a local hospital. Born in Huntington, Indiana, he was the son of the late Wilmer Claude and Goldie Fern Gray. His brother, Kenneth W. Gray, also preceded him in death. He was a graduate of the University of the Philippines and attended graduate school in Florida. He was a retired colonel in the United States Air Force and former member of the Army National Guard. At the beginning of WWII, Col. Gray wanted to serve his country in the newly formed Army Air Corp. At the age of 27, he was considered too old for the cadet program. He personally obtained his private pilot's license and was immediately accepted into the flight program. His devotion to his country was only exceeded by his love for his family. Col. Gray was an avid gardener, reader, and aviation enthusiast. He was a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Dean Gray of Charleston, a son an daughter-in-law, Russell Earl and Patricia H. Gray, Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter and son-in-law, Penelope "Penny" and Larry Todd of Charleston, S.C.; and a brother, Robert Gray of Sarasota, Florida; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a family visitation at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, on Sunday, March 17, 2002 from 3-5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Private interment services will be held Monday, March 18, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in the Beaufort National Cemetery. Anne Carroll Miley, born November 27, 1949, daughter of Efram and Florence Carroll, died on Friday, March 15, 2002 at a local Charleston hospital.Mrs. Miley graduated from College Preparatory School and Limestone College. She was the owner of Charleston Business Forms.She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Miley; two children Robert W. (Robbie) Miley, Jr. and Susan Lynn Miley; brother Mike Carroll and a sister Elizabeth (Cis) Carroll.A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17th at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 150 Wentworth Street.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charleston, Inc., 3896 Leeds Avenue, Charleston, S.C. 29405. DUANE, William
William "Bill" Duane, II, 54, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Charleston died Thursday, March 14th at a local hospital in Charlotte. Born in Charleston to the late William and Mildred Porter Duane, Sr. Mr. Duane was owner and operator of Sassy Scissors-First Evening Salon (Hair by Bill Duane) since 1984 in Charlotte, N.C. He attended Belmont-Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., Mr. Duane is survived by his daughter, Tonya Reid of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Chris Duane of Charlotte, Jack Duane, and Martin Duane both of Charleston, S.C., five sisters, Denise Davis of Lithonia, Georgia, Patricia A. Duane of Charleston, Michele Kelly of Riva, Maryland, Sylvia Molley of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rebecca McIntosh of Ocala, Fla. Mr. Duane is also survived by one grandchild, Porter Metzler of Charlotte. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 17th at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. KINGSTREE - Mrs. Leola McKenzie Gause, 89, widow of Hobson R. Gause, died Friday in a Kingstree hospital.Mrs. Gause was born in Williamsburg Co., a daughter of the late S.P. and Luther Evans McKenzie. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church.Surviving are three daughters: Roberta G. Gannon of Darlington, Vivian G. Cooper of Lugoff, and Myrtle Powell Smith of Kingstree; four sons: Norman Gause of Florence, Raleigh Gause, Buford Gause and Clarence Gause, all of Kingstree; one sister: Delila Ruth Evans of Valdosta, Ga.; one brother: Edward L. McKenzie of Lake City; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
