Mr. McNeill was born in Charleston, S.C., July 22, 1914, the son of Frank T. McNeill, Sr. and Monie Thomson McNeill. He was retired from Coca Cola Bottling Co., Sales Manager and retired from Food Service, Inc. He was a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Mr. McNeill graduated the Citadel, Class of 1938 and was a member of the Hall of Fame. He was a founding member and first secretary of the Citadel Brigadier Club. He served in the U.S. Army as a Lt. Col. during WWII, receiving the Bronze Star during the China Theater. Mr. McNeill was a member of the Elks Lodge #242 of Charleston, S.C., the Charleston Rifle Club and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Frank T. McNeill, III of St. George, S.C. and Robert J. McNeill of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Patricia Anne Rebber of Isle of Palms, S.C., Dawn Zerangue of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Debbie Lybrand of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one sister, Mary Brown of Indianapolis, Ind.; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Burris McNeill.

Helen M. Baker, 87, of Summerville, widow of Thomas H. Baker, died Sunday evening in a local hospital.

Mrs. Baker was born March 15, 1915, in Bouckville, N.Y., a daughter of the late George Mosher and Kathryn Bosch Mosher. She attended El Camino College in Torrance, Calif. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bingo, traveling and gardening. She retired as an assembler in the aerospace industry having worked with Hughes Aircraft & the Northrop Corporation. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church.
Surviving are, one daughter, Barbara Jean Baker Lane of Summerville; two sons, Timothy Edward Baker of Lake Havaso, Ariz., Robert John Baker of Norco, Calif.; one sister, Martha Stores of Clifton Park, N.Y.; ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Gloria Cuzzell Scarborough, 72, of Charleston, died Monday, March 18, at her residence. Born in Charleston to the late Anthony Aloysius and Gertrude Davis Cuzzell. Mrs. Scarborough was married to the late Harry Lawrence Scarborough, Jr. She was a 1946 graduate of Bishop England High School, a member of the Shepherd Center of Charleston, Notre Dame Club of Charleston, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of 50 years, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Nativity Leisure Club, Charter Member of the Perpetual Adoration Society, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. After many years of service, Mrs. Scarborough is survived by her son, Harry L. Scarborough, III, of Charleston, four daughters, Ann S. Robertson of Charleston, Trudy S. Coffey of Charleston, Ruth S. Baker and husband Rodney of Charleston, and Bobbi Scarborough Harrell and husband Larry of Rome, Italy. Also survived by four grandchildren, Michael E. Coffey, Jennifer M. Baker, Jonathon T. Baker, and Mark S. Robertson all of Charleston. DAVIS, William
Coach William R. Davis "Bill," died March 17, at a Savannah, Ga., hospital.
A native of Union, S.C., he received his B.S. degree from Johnson C. Smith University and his Master's Degree from Indiana University. He was the current head football coach at Savannah State University. Coach Davis loved working with young people.
Survivors are, Mrs. Amy Thompson Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; son, William R. Davis, Jr., of Albany; daughter, Tomeka Davis and son-in-law, Radcliff Quarterman of Savannah; sisters, Betty Gilliam and Debra Clayton.
Funeral services for Coach Davis will be held on Friday, March 22, 2002, from St. Philip A.M.E. Church, located on Martin Luther King Blvd., Savannah, Ga. The time of service is 11 a.m.

Dale Richard Wasson, age 73, of Charleston, died Monday, March 18, 2002 at a local hospital.
Born in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Jackson Wasson. Mr. Wasson was a graduate of the Citadel and was a retired Civil Service employee, and a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Mr. Wasson was a Mason, past member of the Dorchester Lodge, a member of the Elks Club and a member of the VFW.

Julian Andrew "Andy" Duchene, 40, of Chandler, Az., died March 14, 2002 at his residence. A native of Charleston, S.C. Mr. Duchene was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was presently attending college.
He is survived by his parents, Alfred Henry and Lorena Knisley Duchene, a brother and sister-in-law, Alfred Henry and Lois M. Duchene; three sisters and brother-in-laws, Mary Duchene and John B. Waring of Charleston, Melanie Duchene and Rubin F. Santos of North Charleston, and Lorena and Kevin M. Ballard of Charlotte, N.C. His maternal grandmother, Lorena Knisley of Charleston, also survives him. Vigil services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, March 21, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. WALTERBORO - Mr. Cecil E. Johns, 84, of 121 Sharon Drive died Monday at a Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Quesenberry officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Johns was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Elden Johns and Janie Saulsberry Johns Hiott. He retired after 21 years as a senior master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. Having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He also retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a former Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He attended the First Assembly of God, was a member of the Mariner Masonic Lodge #2, A.F.M. and was a member of the American Legion Post #0284. He was first married to the late Nora Strickland Johns.
Surviving are his wife, Cora Lee Crosby Johns, a step daughter, Jo Ann Smith of Walterboro, a step son, Bobby Lee Hiott of North Charleston, two sisters, Martha H. Andrews of Walterboro and Janie H. Gorman of Graham, Washington, 7 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchildren, his caregivers, Sarah Laursen and June Hiott, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Effie Hiott.

She was a former employee of the Coastal Center at Ladson where she worked for 27 years.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Bertha Addison Boyd of Harleyville, S.C., one daughter, Mrs. Shatoya Simmons of Charleston; one son, Eric J. Mack of Harleyville, S.C., two brothers, Ellis Boyd, Jr., and Curtis Boyd, both of Harleyville, S.C. She is also survived by two grandsons and numerous other relatives and friends.

William L. (Larry) Everett, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and spouse of Fran McGregor, died on Friday, March 15, 2002 at a local hospital.
Larry, son of Jess and Patsy Everett, was born on August 13, 1952 in Gary, Ind. He attended Indiana University and was a former Police Officer in Winter Green, Fla. Larry was a District Manager for Scotchman Convenience Stores out of Charleston, S.C.
Larry is survived by his spouse; his parents; his two sisters, Julie and Linda; and his four children, Joey, Melanie, Stacey and Nick.
