Alphonse Joseph Ploplis, 76, of Merrimack Blvd., Moncks Corner, S.C., a retired receiving clerk for Sunshine Biscuits, Inc. died Tuesday at his residence.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, March 28, 2002, in the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Mr. Ploplis was born April 8, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of Anthony Ploplis and Rose Lukesevicius Ploplis. He was a Navy veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.
Surviving are, his wife, Helen Reilly Ploplis; three daughters, Christine Saunders and Ann C. Garrick both of Moncks Corner, and Nancy R. Bloodgood of S. River, N.J.; a son, Michael K. Ploplis of Salisbury, N.C.; a sister, Mary Krisciunas of Deltona, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

PARKER, Mary
NAGS HEAD, N.C. - Mrs. Mary Frank McMillan Parker, 85, of Nags Head, formerly of Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Parker was a former public health nurse in Burlington, Hickory, Rockingham, and the Cumberland County Health Department and was a 1940 graduate of the Highsmith Hospital School of Nursing in Fayetteville. She did her post-graduate studies at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Parker was a member of MacPherson Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville; the Highsmith Nurses Alumni Association; and Cross Creek Garden Club in Fayetteville for 35 years, serving as the treasurer.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Vass and a 1938 graduate of Vass-Lakeview High School, where she was valedictorian of her class.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, at Cypress Presbyterian Church in Cameron by the Rev. Leighton B. McKeithan Jr. Arrangements are being handled by ROGERS AND BREECE FUNERAL HOME OF FAYETTEVILLE. She was married to the late Julian E. Parker, Jr., of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Parker is survived by a son, Julian E. Parker, III, of Charleston, S.C., and Ridgefield, Conn.; a daughter, Mary Worthe Parker McEachern of Manteo, two sisters, Marian M. Kirby of Fayetteville and Vivian M. Blackburn of Carthage; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Brooks was born on October 23, 1933 in Pickens, S.C., a son of Ruby Lenora Dobson Brooks of Easley, S.C. and the late John Ogia Brooks. He attended schools in Easley, S.C. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and he also served in the United States Navy. He was a Retired Supervisor with Charleston Naval Shipyard and he worked several years with Parks Auto Parts. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are, his wife of Summerville; his mother of Easley; 3 sons, Doyle L. Brooks, Jr. of Hanahan, Henry A. Fisk of Ladson and Walter "Buck" Fish of Edisto Island; 3 daughters, Bonnie Brooks Barnhill of Summerville, Miriam Donaldson of Hanahan and Jeanette Grace of Franklin, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Jane Brooks of Easley. George Sinnott Epps, 84, of North Charleston, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at his residence.

He was the son of the late William James Epps and Adale Cecilia Gamble Epps. He was a retired trucker for Infinger Truck Lines, a 30 year employee of Lorwey Hess Station. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Epps was a member of the Dorchester Wayln Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Leuadean D. Epps, and two sons, Robert M. Epps and Aldon Epps, Sr.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie Fish, of Goose Creek, Dorothy Cumbee, of Hanahan, Mae Williams, of North Charleston, Cathy Epps, of North Charleston, Tammy Genove, of North Charleston, sons, George W. Mr. Beasley was born November 2, 1914, in Barnwell County, S.C., the son of William Moss Beasley and Elizabeth Hutto Beasley. He was a retired printer with the Charleston Evening Post and the News and Courier for 56 years. He was a Charter Member of Harbor Light Baptist Church and President of Robert Taylor Sunday School Class; a life member of James Island Masonic Lodge #396. He served as Constable for 25 years with Judge William Henry Simmons, Jr., on James Island. He was a professional prize fighter from 1928 to 1933, where he fought under the name of "Newsboy" Beasley. Fighting in the 128 weight class, he was well known as a champ throughout the entire southeast. After retirement from boxing, "Newsboy" coached Golden Glove championship teams.
He is survived by three sons, James W. Beasley and his wife Mary Ann, John W. Beasley and his wife Tutti and Joseph W. Beasley and his wife Donna, all of James Island, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Wendy B. Hull, Billy Beasley, Casie Beasley, J.J. Beasley, Jesse Beasley, Aaron Beasley and David Alosi; two great-grandchildren, Jared Hull and Emma Hull.

Norris W. "Skip" Mayberry, 66, of Moncks Corner, a retired owner and operator of Berkeley Aviation, died Tuesday at a Charleston hospital.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Burial will be private.
Mr. Mayberry was born May 25, 1935, at Pageton, W.Va., a son of William C. Mayberry and Clara Ayers Mayberry. He was a graduate of Pocohontas High School and attended the University of Maryland. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Hagen Hunt Club, the Berkeley Aviation Club and A.O.P.A. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Dickens Mayberry of Moncks Corner; son, Bill Mayberry of Columbia; daughter, Revonda M. Hardesty of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Melba Jones of Tampa, Fla., Gail Mayberry of Lake City, Fla.; brother, Oid C. Mayberry of Reevesville, N.C., three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

JERNIGAN, James
Mr. James Henry Jernigan, age 77, died Tuesday, March 26, at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Statesboro, Georgia after an extended illness. He was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina to Mildred and Harvey Jernigan. Mr. Jernigan was a veteran of World War II, serving as an armed guard for the convoy service to Northern Africa. He also served as plank owner of USS Yosemite, sailing from Davis Island in Tampa to the Pacific returning to the U.S. at the end of the war.
Surviving are two sons, James Michael Jernigan of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Richard E. Jernigan of Statesboro, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Chapman of Orlando, Fla. and Shirley Sammeck of Andalusia, Ala.

ROBINSON, Marie
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie L. Robinson was held on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Jehovah Lutheran Church in Pensacola Florida. Mrs. Marie Robinson was born in Minter Alabama on January 25, 1911. She was the oldest of 14 children of the late Mr. Allen and Mrs. Lizzie Davis. Mrs. Robinson was united in marriage to Mr. Mose Robinson on January 24, 1932, from this union 13 children were born. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a servant of Jehovah Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Marie L. Robinson departed this life on March 19, 2002. Born July 16, 1922, in West Jefferson, N.C., he was the son of the late David Hilton Campbell and the late Viola Gentry Campbell. He was the retired owner and operator of Campbell's Truck Stop.

Born in Florence, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Dewitt Willis and Evelyn Johnson Willis. She was the wife of Dean C. Fowler, Sr.
Mrs. Fowler was a 1948 graduate of McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing and was a pediatric nurse with Drs. Monroe and Waters for many years. She was a member of New Testament Church, the UDC Ellison Capers Chapter and the Colonial Dames.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Dean C. Fowler, Jr., and his wife, Gail, of Florence; three daughters, Jennie O'Bryan and her husband, Dr. Conyers, of Florence, Annette Boatright, and her husband, Dr. Jim, of Charlotte, N.C., and Deanna McClary, and her husband, Clebe, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; two brothers, Clarence E. Willis, and Randolph Willis and his wife, Emily, all of Johnsonville, S.C.; and a twin sister, Virginia Lovett, and her husband, Braxton, of Indiantown, S.C. Born June 27, 1914, in Corsicana, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Herold J. Wieler and Ruby D. Houston Weiler. She was an elementary school secretary and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Marion Lightsey of the home; three daughters, Etta Marie Wilson of Westbrook, Conn., Eleanor Weiler Lightsey-O'Key of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Frances Louise Marshall of McLean, Va.; one brother, Herold J.
