Mrs. Banks was born December 13, 1924, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Theodore and Nora Blake. Mrs. Banks was educated in the public schools of West Virginia and had at one time been a telephone operator.
Surviving Mrs. Banks are her husband of North Charleston, S.C.; and two sisters, Nora and Minnie, both of Fayetteville, West Virginia.

Mrs. Leitch was born in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Edward North Millar and Lucille Bonnell Millar. She was a graduate of Memminger High School, Charleston, S.C. and Rice Business College. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and retired from MUSC.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Buhtz of Canada; two sons, John A. Leitch, Jr., wife, Patty and Donald N. Leitch, wife, Eileen of Charleston, S.C.; one grandson, Daniel E. Leitch of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Arthur Millar of San Leandro, Calif., and James Millar, wife Jane of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

Born on October 9, 1964, in Minot, North Dakota, a son of MSGT. Paul Robert and Sandra Richmond Page, USAF (Ret.) of Toney, Alabama. He was a graduate of Twin Lakes High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a member of Low Country Harley-Davidson Association and Colleton County ABATE. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served on the U.S.S. Moosbrugger DD-980 stationed in Charleston, South Carolina.
He was a crane operator with Mobile Crane Service. He was Methodist.
Surviving are his parents of Toney, Alabama; a fiancée and her son, Dana and Dakotah Snelgrove of Cottageville, S.C.; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Christopher Glen and Trista Page of Tampa, Fla., Paul Lindsay and Melody Page of W. Susan L. Leppert, 99, wife of David S. Leppert, Sr., died Thursday, March 28, 2002 in Norman, Oklahoma. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 4, 2002 in Ocean Grove United Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. Mrs. Leppert was born February 7, 1903, in Awendaw, S.C., a daughter of Brittin and Margaret M. White. She lived in Awendaw and Charleston, where she married David S. Leppert on March 1, 1939. Together they traveled all over the country as he pursued a 25 year career in the Air Force. They moved to Norman, Okla. in 1992 to be near their son.
Mrs. Leppert is survived by her husband, David Leppert of the home; her son, Dave Leppert, Jr. and his wife, Sheila of Norman, Okla., a brother, Norton E. White and a sister, Laura Elaine McConnell, both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two granddaughters, Lynda L. Leppert of Boise, Idaho and Laura Leppert-Murphy and her husband, Ken and two great-granddaughters, Elisa and Kayla Murphy, all of Morehead City, N.C. She is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

ANDREWS - David Michael Andrews, 42, of Charleston died Thursday, March 28th at his residence. Born Newark, N.J. to the late Roland and Gladys Thelma Gentry Andrews, Sr. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Andrews was a member of New Life Assembly of God and was employed with Jimmy Andrews Cabinet Insulations. He was a former baseball coach for the Cooper River Parks and Recreation. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Thelma Elizabeth Andrews of Hopewell, Virginia, three brothers, Jimmy Andrews of Cottageville, S.C., Roland Andrews, Jr., and Wayne Andrews both of Charleston. BERGEN, Luther
Luther M. Bergen, 85, of Hanahan, died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Heartland Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Born December 29, 1916, in Brigham City, Utah, he was a son of the late Luther M. and Marie E. Bjorndal Bergen. He was a graduate of Box Elder High School, where he played football and played in the band. He is a graduate of Utah State University with a BS Degree in Biology. Immediately after graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force. After basic training, he was sent to England with the 8th Air Force. He completed 25 missions before being wounded. After his recovery he was sent to the Pacific with the 20th Air Force. After the war ended he returned to Charleston and took a teaching job at Murray Vocation High School. He received a National Science Foundation Scholarship to the University of Virginia where he received a Masters Degree in Education. He became Principal of Murray Vocation High School, later Moultrie High School and was the first principal of Wando High School where he retired from teaching. While he was with Charleston County School District, he served as president of Charleston County Education Association. He was also on Coastal Carolina Conference of Athletics Committee. He served 20 years with North Charleston Zoning Board of Adjustment. While in the service, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Purple Heart, also a Certificate of Valor from the President of the United States. He retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lt. Col. He is a past member of Retired Air Force Association, National Retired Teachers of Charleston. Also a past member of the Civitan of Charleston. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was an elder.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. Bergen of the home; two sons, Luther M. Bergen, III of Spartanburg and Allen J. Bergen of Columbia; two sisters, Neoma M. Emery and Lucy Irine Earl both of Brigham City, Utah; a brother, Karl L. Bergen, of St. George, Utah; three granddaughters and one grandson.
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, April 2, 2002.

Raymond Carey Rhodes, Jr., 50, of Summerville, husband of Connie Snow Rhodes, died Monday morning at his residence.

Mr. Rhodes was born December 6, 1951, in Charleston, S.C., a son of Margaret Lillian Hilton Rhodes of Ladson and the late Raymond Carey Rhodes, Sr. He attended Stall High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was an over the road owner and operator driving for Lawrence Transportation Systems.
Surviving are, his mother, Margaret H. Rhodes of Ladson; wife, Connie S. Rhodes of Summerville; three sons, SRA. Raymond C. Rhodes III, USAF of Wichita, Kans., David C. Rhodes of Miami, Fla., Patrick S. Rhodes of Miami, Fla.; one daughter, Teena M. Rhodes of Miami, Fla.; two step-daughters, Dujuna S. Thomas of Virginia Beach, Va., Cristle M. Frank Levi Vickery, 88, of North Charleston, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his residence.

Born October 8, 1913, in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Joseph Ishum Vickery and Maude Susie Sawyer. He was a retired machinist from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and a member of the First Baptist Church of North Charleston. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Mrs. Argoe was born December 22, 1935, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Harry Free and Olivette Phin Free. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Argoe was a graduate of Norway High School.
Survivors include, husband, Hampton A. Argoe of Isle of Palms; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Rhonda) Peterson, Mrs. Dean (Sherry) Lowder, both of Isle of Palms, and Mrs. Ronald (Robin) Rickter, Jr., of Folly Beach; son, Jonathan A. Joan Irwin Coit, 75, of 38 Gibbs St., Charleston, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at Bishop Gadsen Healthcare. A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Mrs. Coit is the daughter of the late Albert and Amy B. Irwin. She was the wife of the late Roland Coit.
Mrs. Coit was a homemaker and former secretary.
She is survived by her sons, Craig Irwin and (Kate) Coit of Chicago, Ill., and Kent Alan and (Gail) Coit of Boston, Mass., a daughter, Claudia and (David) Cohen, of Charleston, S.C., a sister, Jean Irwin Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and five grandchildren.

Alida Rollins Arrants Mizzell, 82, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at a Charleston hospital.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late George O. Rollins and the late Aline Woodham Rollins.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie de Tournillon; and a sister, Beaney Lee Polin both of Charleston.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Tillers Cemetery in the Turkey Creek Community with Rev. Dale Warren officiating.

O'NEILL, Charlotte
Charlotte Keith (Furman) O'Neill, 78, of La Quinta, Calif., and formerly of Charleston, S.C., and Elgin, Ill., passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, Calif. She was born, February 12, 1924, in Charleston, S.C., to Frank Heyward Furman and Annie May Johnson. She attended Memminger High School and the College of Charleston. She married George M. O'Neill in 1943. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, West Dundee, Ill. She was an avid golfer and tennis player, loved travel, literature and crossword puzzles. "Granny" will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, George, of 59 years; three children, George (Treva) O'Neill, Jr., of Carbondale, Ill., Furman (Patricia) O'Niell of Carpentersville, Ill., and Peggy (Chris) Tiger of Palm Desert, Calif.; four grandchildren, Breton (Rob) Fierstein, Erin O'Neill, Shannon O'Neill an Dana O'Neill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Frances Furman Jordan.
