KINGSTREE - Leta Smith Brown, 88, widow of Samuel Everett Brown, died Thursday, April 4, in a Florence hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born April 4, 1914, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Smith and Mary Boyd Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are, two sons, Joe E. Brown of Batesburg and Jerry L. Brown of Kingstree; two brothers, Edward Smith of Andrews and Hugh Smith of Charleston; one sister, Maude S. Wilson of Charleston; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, in the WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, conducted by Rev. John Dodd. Burial will be in Tisdale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, Batesburg, Central Presbyterian Church, Kingstree, the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Joe Litchfield of Andrews, S.C., and Donald Wayne Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Nellie James of Amarillo, Texas, and Louise Murdock of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Louise Rolling Drew, 78, of Charleston died Saturday, March 2nd at a local hospital. She was born October 17, 1923 in New Hartford, N.Y., the daughter of James H. and Edith M. Rolling. She is survived by her husband Howard F. Drew of Charleston, a daughter, Catherine D. O'Brien of Cincinnati, a son, Douglas Drew and his wife Theresa of San Diego, and two grandchildren, Hilary O'Brien and Alexander Drew. She was a graduate of Smith College, a retired librarian of the Cincinnati Public Library, and a member of the Huguenot Church, The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, and the Preservation Society of Charleston.
