Virgilio Espino Bunao, 55, of Summerville, husband of Rosalina Isip Bunao died Thursday afternoon at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, at 9 o'clock, in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, Summerville. Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will be in the Philippines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mr. Bunao to, St. John Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Ave., Summerville, S.C. 29483.
Mr. Bunao was born on June 5, 1946, in Bautista Pangasinan, Philippines, a son of the late Alejandro Bunao and Emilia Espino Bunao of Friendswood, Texas.
Mr. Bunao received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He was the President of Rosalina Baby Collections, Inc. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and Pine Forest Country Club.
Surviving are, his wife and his mother, Angelo Vonn Bunao of Charleston, Virgil I. Bunao of Greenwood, S.C.; four daughters, Aurelia Verlie B. Turner of Hong Kong, Verna Rita B. Weeks, Vina I. Bunao and Angela I. Bunao all of Summerville; two grandsons, Adrianne J. Bunao and Elliott L. Weeks; one granddaughter, Anya E. Bunao; two sisters, Virginia Bernado of Friendswood, Texas, Emilie B. Clarin of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Renato Bunao of Saudi Arabia.

Edward Joseph Coury, 83, the husband of Mary Ubaldi Coury of Charleston died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at a local hospital. Mr. Coury was born Friday, May 24, 1918 in Jacksonville, FL the son of Joseph and Lilly Courie Coury. Mr. Coury was graduated from Valdosta High School, Birmingham Southern University and attended Harvard Business School. He was the President of Consumer Acceptance and Loan Corporation in Charleston. Mr. Coury was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of W.W.II. He was an Honorary Life member of the Rev. P.N. Lynch, Knights of Columbus, the Palmetto Touchdown Club, the Fellowship Society, Past President of the South Carolina St. Jude Children's Hospital Foundation, a member and Past President of the South Carolina Association of Licensed Lenders and was appointed by the Governor to the South Carolina State Board of Bank Control. Joe Ben "J.B." Grizzle, 86, of Moncks Corner, a retired Charleston Naval Shipyard employee died Friday at a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Grizzle was born April 23, 1915 at Murrayville, Georgia, a son of Thomas Dillard Grizzle and Mary Anderson Grizzle. He was a Protestant and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Player Grizzle of Moncks Corner; two sons, Thomas A. "Tom" Grizzle and his wife, Cindy, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Paul W. Grizzle, and his wife, Ann, of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Ola Mae Parker of Murrayville, Georgia; three granddaughters, Monica L. Grizzle, Kelly R. Strong and Megan C. Strong, all of Charlotte, North Carolina.

WALTERBORO - Mrs. Nora Strange Daniels, 66, of 401 Witsell Street died Friday at Oakwood Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Cooper officiating.
Mrs. Daniels was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Charles M. Strange, Sr. and Rema O'Quinn Strange. She was a retired waitress and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Henry B. Daniels.
Surviving are two brothers, Charles Strange, Jr. and Marshall A. Strange, both of Tallahassee, Florida, an aunt, Ida Lincoln of Walterboro, and several nieces and nephews.

NEW ZION - Agnes Mouzon Duke, 73, widow of Bishop LeRoy Duke, died Thursday in a Sumter hospital.
Mrs. Duke was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Charles Colbert Mouzon and Edna Thomas Mouzon. She was retired from Dubin's Department Store and Belk Department Store. Mrs. Mouzon was a former treasurer of the Oakdale Community Center and a member of Midway Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and as a member of the choir.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Donna Faye D. Welch of Sumter and Marilyn D. Kennedy of Kingstree; 3 sisters, Pauline Jasper of Kingstree, Meddie Crabbe of Summerville, and Nina West of Ridgeland; 1 brother, Frazier Mouzon of New York; 5 grandchildren, Melissa Jackson, April Stanfield and Justin Welch, all of Sumter, Greg Kennedy and Michelle Shearer of New Zion; 4 great-grandchildren, Sara and Emily Jackson, both of Sumter and Cory and Josh Kennedy both of New Zion.

FUENTES, Walter
Dr. Walter Fuentes, Associate Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the College of Charleston, died April 5th after a short illness. A native of Chile, Dr. Fuentes was 57 years old. He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Elba Andrade, two devoted sons, Andrew and Rodrigo and three sisters and one brother who reside in Chile and Norway. Dr. Fuentes was the Director of the Semester Study Program in Santiago, Chile. Funeral arrangements are private. A Memorial Service at the College will be announced at a later date.

LAKE CITY - Mrs. Barbara Ann Buddin Matthews, 68, wife of John O. "Jack" Matthews, died Friday, April 5, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Matthews was bon in Florence County, a daughter of the late Buck Watson Ward, Sr. and Bernice Baker Ward. She attended Columbia College and retired from Farm Credit Bureau. She was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church, the Frances King Sunday School Class, and Circle #5.
Survivors include, her husband, John O. "Jack" Matthews of Lake City; one son, David Michael (Laura) Buddin of Irmo; two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Susan) Hardy of Charleston and Mrs. Gerald (Cindy) Meetze of Chapin; one brother, Buck W. "Buster" (Marilyn) Ward, Jr. of Cades; one step-daughter, Kathryn Daniels of Camden; one step-son, Darby Matthews of Columbia; and six grandchildren.

Captain John J. "Barney" Godwin, U.S. Navy, Ret., 78, of Trenton, Fla., died April 5, 2002, at his home. Graveside services will be held Monday, April 8, 2002, 1 p.m., at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., County Road, 476B, half mile west of I-75, at exit 62 (Webster Exit.) Chaplain Bob Wineberg, Hospice of Tri-County, will officiate.

Capt. Godwin was born in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and was a Captain with the U.S. Navy for 30 years at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was an Ace Pilot during W.W.II. He was a member of Etiwan Lodge #95 F.&A.M., Mt. Pleasant, S.C., for 58 years. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include, wife, Virginia Davis Godwin, Trenton, Fla., daughter, Jennifer Kelly Godwin Wilson, Trenton, Fla.; and niece, Shirley Munn Gemar, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beath Jamic Katina Godwin Ellis.
BOWEN, III, Arthur
Arthur W. Buck Bowen, III, 64, of 167 Osprey Place, Quail Valley, Princeton, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in the Veteran’s hospital, Salem, VA. Born March 8, 1938, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur W. Bowen, Jr. and Myrtle Lee Griffin Bowen. He retired after 34 years of service from the St. Andrews South Carolina Fire Department. He was a member of Valley View Seventh Day Adventist Church in Green Valley where he served as Deacon. He was co-leader of the Adventist Community Services Program and a member of the Princeton Camera Club. He operated the Flood Relief Distribution Center from July to October 2001, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1998 moving from Summerville, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Patrick Bowen. Survivors include his second wife, Janet Land Bowen of Princeton; one sister, Betty Tweed and her husband Everett of Meggett, SC; and one brother, Robert Thomas Bowen and his wife Karen of Charleston, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 8, 2002, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of SEAVER FUNERAL HOME IN PRINCETON with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating. McRoy Perritte, 79, of Summerville, S.C., died April 5, 2002, at a local nursing home.

Mr. Perritte was born January 22, 1923, in Marion, S.C., a son of Robert Perritte, Sr., and Viola Richardson Perritte. He was a retired maintenance foreman for the Charleston County School District and a W.W.II U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Gilbert of Summerville, S.C., four sons, Ronald Kenneth Perritte of Charleston, S.C., James Roy Perritte, William Michael Perritte and Richard Albert Perritte, all of Summerville, S.C., three brothers, Bob Perritte of Moncks Corner, S.C., Lifford Perritte and Tommy Perritte, both of Summerville, S.C., two sisters, Gladys Flowers of Givhans, S.C., and Bernadine Simms of Summerville, S.C., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

FAIRFAX - Mrs. Evelyn Knopf Kearse, widow of the late H. Baldwin Kearse, died Thursday at her residence. She was 88.
Mrs. Kearse was born in Olar February 15, 1914, a daughter of the late Solomon and Bertha Knopf. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.
Survivors include, one son, William Ayers, of Fairfax; one daughter, Joanne Phillips, of Hampton. There are two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services will be held, Saturday morning, at 11 a.m., in the Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the chapel of SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements.
