Green Funeral services for Kevin Clark Green of North Charleston will be today at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel in Summerville. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, Fla.
Mr. Greendied June 2, 2002. He was 47.
Mr. Green was born Nov. 16, 1954, in Charleston, a son of Marion Miller Green of Summerville and the late Woodrow W. Green. He was a graduate of St. George High School and attended Trident Technical College. He was a rod-buster with Daniel Construction. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother of Summerville and a sister, L. "Sheri" Sheridan Green of Columbia.
The family requests that flowers be omitted in favor of memorials to the Kidney Foundation S.C. Chapter P.O. Box 1316 Columbia, SC 29202.

George "Buddy" Dowling Garvin Jr.
A memorial service for George Dowling "Buddy" Garvin Jr., of Hollywood, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Adams Run Baptist Church in Hollywood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Garvin died June 3, 2002. He was 30.
Mr. Garvin was born on Aug. 10, 1971, in Charleston, a son of George Dowling and Barbara Davis Garvin Sr. of Yonges Island. He attended Baptist High School on Yonges Island. He was the owner of Rivers Edge Inc. He was a member of Adams Run Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kristian Jay Garvin and their baby due in August; his parents, of Yonges Island; two brothers, Thomas L. and Erik D. Garvin, both of Ravenel; paternal grandmother, Virginia R. Garvin of Adams Run; and one niece, Tristen Kenzi Peeples of Ravenel.
Mr. Dowling was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Thomas R. and Cletes L. Odom and paternal grandfather, Dowling H. Garvin.

Essie Sweat Murray
Funeral services for Essie Sweat Murray of Lebanon were June 5, 2002, at the chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner. Interment followed in Berkeley Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Murray died June 3 at her residence. She was 73.
Mrs. Murray was born on June 23, 1927, in Nance, S.C., a daughter of Willie Sweat and Annie Martin Sweat. She attended Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a retired seamstress for Manhattan Shirt Factory.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence O. Murray; sons David Stewart of St. George, Gerald Stewart and Bruce Murray, both of Moncks Corner and Donald Murray of Lebanon; daughters Cheryl Kowalki and Carole Thipps, both of Greenville; a sister, Margaret Salley of Orangeburg; two brothers, William Sweat of Orangeburg and Eddie Sweat of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Sweat, Sing Sweat and Marvin Sweat; and two sisters, Mary "Knotie" Heatley and Maybelle Wilder. Arrangements by Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner.
Curtis L. "Mac" McMickle
Funeral services for Curtis L. "Mac" McMickle, of Tampa, Fla., were May 20, 2002, at Florida National Cemetery.
Mr. McMickle died May 15. He was 70.
Mr. McMickle was born in Beuna Vista, Ga., in 1932 and lived in the Summerville area before moving to Tampa in 1965. He was a retired U.S. Air Force staff sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Nancye McDougal McMickle; sons, Curtis McMickle Jr. and Robert McMickle; a daughter, Becky Lasky and son-in-law Mark, all of Tampa; a brother, Manson McMickle, of Cordele, Ga; sisters Maxine Ingram of Raleigh, Joyce Collins of Cordele, and Janice Jacquin of Alpharetta, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Amanda J. Lasky of Tampa.
Ann Ward Green
Memorial services for Ann Ward Green of Ridgeville will be at a later date. Mrs. Greendied June 3, 2002 in Dorchester County. She was 68.
Ms. Green was born on Jan. 26, 1934, in Tupelo, Miss., a daughter of Sample Ward and Lucille Wilson Phillips. She was a retired secretary for the Summerville Journal Scene. She was the widow of James F. Green Jr. Survivors include her son, James F. Green III and his wife, Norma Green, of Ridgeville; her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Greg Bradshaw of Boulder, Col.; and two grandchildren, Bonnie White and Joey White, both of Ridgeville.

Marvin "Ed" Ridge III
Funeral services for Marvin "Ed" Ridge III, of Summerville, were June 16, 2002, at Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Mr. Ridge died June 14 at a Summerville hospital. He was 47.
Mr. Ridge was born on Oct. 19, 1954, in Greer, S.C., a son of Marvin "Ed" Ridge II and Francis Ridge. He was produce market manager for Mr. K's Piggly Wiggly.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Ridge, of Summerville; three daughters, Rian Lyndsay Ridge, Kristen Kelly Nichols and Kimberly Lynn Nichols, all of Summerville; two sons, Jason Denis Ridge and William Carl Nichols, all of Summerville; five grandchildren; three dogs and one horse.

Elizabeth Ackerly Brewer
Graveside funeral services for Elizabeth Ackerly Brewer, of Summerville, were held June 13, 2002, at Summerville Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer died June 10 at a local hospital. She was 81.
Mrs. Brewer was born on Jan. 29, 1921, in Eastville, Va., a daughter of Lemuel Ackerly and Mary Brown Ackerly. She was a homemaker and widow of Sears Brewer.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Sears Brewer Sr. and his wife, Carol Lee Brewer of Summerville and Ronald L. Brewer Sr. and his wife, Dawn Brewer, of Ridgeville; five grandchildren, Amy Streets, Catherine Watson, Gary S. Brewer Jr., Ronald L. Brewer Jr. and Elizabeth M. Brewer; former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth C. Brewer, mother of Ronald L. Brewer Jr. and Elizabeth M. Brewer; and two great-grandchildren.

John C. Pardue
Funeral services for John Clark Pardue, of Summerville, were June 14, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Clark died June 10 on a local hospital. He was 84.
Mr. Pardue was born June 24, 1917, in Edgefield County, a son of the late Thomas Pardue and Mary Outz Pardue. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a former member and deacon of Charleston Heights Baptist Church and a current member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a Life Member of Chicora Lodge 366. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn P. and Edward Arhahill, of Summerville; two sisters, Gladys Long of Saluda and Frances Pardue, of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Edward John and Leslie Marie Arahill. Mr. Pardue was preceded in death by his wife, Edna C. Pardue.

Bobbie Jean Cleland
Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Cleland, of Hanahan, were conducted on June 18, 2002, in North Trident Baptist Church in Ladson. Burial followed in Dorchester memory Gardens in Summerville.
Mrs. Cleland died June 16 in a Charleston hospital. She was 42.
Mrs. Cleland was born on Aug. 7, 1959, in Charleston, a daughter of the late Edward Landrum North and Mary Louise Austin North. She graduated from Garrett High School and attended Trident Technical College. She was a former secretary with the Department of Education at The Citadel. She was a volunteer at Hanahan Elementary School and a member of North Trident Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Glenn Cleland, of the home; a son, Christopher Glenn Cleland of Hanahan; a daughter,Cayce Elizabeth Cleland of Hanahan; and two sisters, Geraldine Patrick and Patricia Gurney, both of Ladson.

Mrs. Todd was born on Feb. 22, 1916, in Russellville, S.C., a daughter of the late Roderick Kirby Russell and Mathew Jacquiline Venning. She was retired from Edwards Department Store. She was a Baptist.

Mr. LaMarque died June 14 at his residence.
Mr. LaMarque was born July 8, 1929, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., a son of the late Francis Xavier LaMarque and Anna Mary Desjadon LaMarque. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Senior League Bowling. He was a retired technician with Hercules Inc. in New York. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his loving companion, Eleanor Alexander Knight, of Summerville; two sons, Lawrence Vernon LaMarque of Florence and Dean H.B. LaMarque of Jefferson, Ga.; three daughters, Penny L. Lozier of Charleston, Tammy Schwerzler of Florence and Holly D. Broton of Meggett, S.C.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Neumann of Bolton Landing, N.Y.; four brothers, Tom LaMarque of Glen Falls, N.Y., Donald LaMarque of Rumford, Maine; Norman LaMarque of South Glen Falls, N.Y., and Henry LaMarque of Eufaula, Ala.

Mrs. Brant died June 15 at her residence. She was 92.
Mrs. Brant was born Sept. 1, 1909, a daughter of the late Willie Connelly and Angie Rentz Connelly. She was a graduate of Penile High school in Colleton County. She was a member of Dorchester-Waylan Baptist Church in Charleston. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Earl “Dilly” Brant of North Charleston, Thomas “Buddy” Brant, Lanier Brant and Connelly Brant, all of Moncks Corner, and Freeman Brant of Walterboro; daughters Peggy Russ of Summerville, Nola Bash of Zanesville, Ohio, Doris Gladden of Moncks Corner, Hazel Lee of North Charleston, Truma Polin of Chapin, S.C., and Linda Brant of Hanahan; 42 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Rebecca Honeywell of Fayetteville, N.C
Mrs. Brant was predeceased by three children: Bobby Brant, Vernelle Brown and Furman Brant. She was the widow of Earl Brant.
