When there was no Monrovian Church, she maintained her strong faith in neighborhood churches wherever she lived. When she moved to Black Mountain, N.C., from her home on the lake in Bonneau, S.C., she embraced the mountains and her wonderful caregiver, Susan Halford, but missed her longtime friends and family in South Carolina, particularly her wonderful friend, the UPS man, Christopher Joy. Her doors were always open for those in need. Friends from all stations in life and family gathered around her kitchen table to relax. She devoted her entire life to taking care of her family. She was the mother that was always there, the Ganny like none other. She had style and grace and great humor, a bare-footed Auntie Mame who gracefully moved toward heaven, saying, "I'm leaving now, Goodbye," as she bowed out with dignity to join her Lord. Her strong spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a unique child of God.
