Services celebrating the life of Judy R. Ott, 53, of North Charleston, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2002, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Gaston, conducted by Rev. Junior Roland and Rev. Donald P. Davis, with burial at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cliff Simmons, William Lowery, Clifton Simmons, J.E. Glenn, William Laucis and Jim Glenn. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., at THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME OF LEXINGTON. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Ott died Thursday, April 18, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Grover Lee and Lila Mae Howell Rister. Formerly of West Columbia and Cayce, Mrs. Ott had made her home in North Charleston for the past 12 years. She was a member of Ashley River Baptist Church and was an employee of U.S. District Court.
Surviving are her husband, Robert H. Ott of North Charleston; nephews, Clyde T. Rister of Lexington, Irba Chavis of Virginia Beach; great-niece, Jennifer Beeler of Gaston; and her beloved pets, Maggie and Jesse.

Hazle Fiore Haug, 90, the wife of Adolph Otto Haug of John's Island died Thursday, April 18, 2002, on John's Island, S.C. Mrs. Haug was born Tuesday, January 30, 1912, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of James J. and Berta Cross Thompson. She was a retired accountant/auditor with the Onondaga Savings Bank in New York. Mrs. Haug was a former officer with the Home Builder Association of Syracuse, N.Y., and the Cottirie Club of Maitland, Fla. Roberta "Bobbi" Kearns Fasola, 39, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., formerly of Indianapolis, died April 9, 2002. She was a homemaker.
The memorial service will be Sunday, April 21, 2002, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 11 o'clock.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Terry Fasola; parents, Robert G. and Phyllis Price Kearns; brothers, Paul L. and Donald G. Kearns; step-son, Nicholas F. Fasola.

CAMPBELL, Jamie
TIMMONSVILLE - James "Jamie" Rhettford Knight Campbell, age 49, passed away April 15, 2002 at the home of his mother, Sylvia Ann Lane Campbell in Timmonsville, S.C.
Memorial services with full military honors will be in the Florence National Cemetery, 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2002 directed by BELK FUNERAL HOME of Darlington.
Mr. Campbell was born in Charleston, S.C. in 1952. He attended Burncoot Junior High and North High School in Worcester, Mass. He served four years in the United States Air Force and four years in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Williams James Knight and his beloved adopted father, Leonard A. Campbell, Sr.
Survivors include his brother Willard E. Campbell (Catherine) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his sister, Linda Marie Lee of Timmonsville and his beloved brother, Leonard A. Campbell, Jr. (Dawn) of Hopedale, Mass.; his niece Nicole Marie Campbell, his nephew Robert Joseph Campbell, nieces, Liza Marie Campbell, Ashley Lynn Campbell, Kaitlyn Ann Lee, a great-grandnephew David Allen Lee and two special nephews, Craig and Cory Klien; three aunts, Billie D. Ard, Peggy Lane Holt and Judy (Joe) Lane and several aunts and uncles.
SWEIGART, Donald
Donald "Don" R. Sweigart, 85, of Sullivan's Island, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Frank and Anna Claude Sweigart. He graduated from Steele High School and Dayton Art Institute and Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington, D.C. He was an aerographer's mate during W.W.II in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired quality control manager at Litton Industries, then became the vice president for Carolina Packaging and was most recently a starter at Snee Farm Country Club. Don was a very active member of Stella Maris Catholic Church. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Rita G. Lang Sweigart, five sons, Raymond L. Sweigart and wife Kiki of McLean, Va., F. Charles Sweigart and wife Lynn of Winston-Salem, N.C., John A. Sweigart and wife Susan of Hendersonville, N.C., Mark D. Sweigart and wife Donna of Hamilton, Ga., Matt G. Sweigart and wife Sabine of Grass Valley, Calif., two daughters, Marcia S. Russo and husband Leo of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Beth Baker of Kenly, N.C., two brothers, Col. Bert Sweigert, USAF of Alexandria, Va., James Howard Sweigart of Kentucky, a sister, Sr. Louise Sweigart of Arlington Hgts., Ohio and 12 grandchildren. BECKHAM, James
James H. "Jimmy" Beckham, 46, of Cross, a department manager with the Berkeley County Maintenance Department, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. Burial will be in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Beckham was born August 13, 1955 at Charleston, S.C., a son of Elliott L. Beckham and Dorothy Vinson Beckham. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his fiancée, Michelle Clark of Cross; two sons, James E. Beckham and Brian A. Beckham both of Kingsman, Arizona; stepdaughter, Tiffany Clark of Cross; stepson, David Clark of Cross; brother, Donnie Beckham of Summerville; two grandchildren, Shania Rabon and Will Rabon both of Dorchester; one niece and one nephew.

MONTGOMERY, Bertha
GRAY COURT, S.C. - Bertha Sexton Montgomery, age 87, of Rt. 2, Gray Court, widow of John H. Montgomery, Sr., died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Summitt Place in Simpsonville, S.C.
She was born in Laurens and was a daughter of the late Samuel Boyd and Hattie Hill Sexton. She was retired from the Laurens Glass Works; was a member of Highland Home Baptist Church of Gray Court, where she played the piano and organ and was a youth director for many years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her son, John H. Montgomery, Jr. of Gray Court; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou (Gable) and Marvin Dawson of Spartanburg, Barbara M. and John Perry Lanford of Gray Court, Judy M. and Paul Macolly of Roebuck, and Harriett M. and Dennis G. Dease, Sr. of Fountain Inn; six grandchildren, Beth L. Adams and Angel Gilliland of Laurens, Warren Lanford of Greer, Kylie M. Gable of Spartanburg, Michele Rowell of Enoree and Beth Montgomery of Woodruff; three step-grandsons; six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Addie Lou S. Gray, Gertrude S. Gray, Clara S. Barnes, Frances S. Dendy and one brother, Jack Davis Sexton, Sr.
Services will be conducted at Highland Home Baptist Church, Gray Court on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at GRAY FUNERAL HOME Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

GEORGETOWN - Shelva Simpson Jayroe, 65, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Jayroe was born in Manning on August 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Charles William Simpson and Warrine McCleod Simpson. She graduated from Manning Schools and attended Technical College for three years. Mrs. Jayroe was employed in the Food Service division of Georgetown Memorial Hospital for 21 years and retired in 1991. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the widow of John Bernard Jayroe.
Surviving are three sons, John B. Jayroe, Jr., W. Gregory Jayroe, and Randy Jayroe, all of Georgetown; four sisters, Charlene S. Greene of Tocoma, Wash., Carolyne S. Harrison of North Charleston, Joann S. Brunson of Jackson, N.C., and Betty S. Andrews of Alcolu; two brothers, W.R. Simpson of Manning and Charles William Simpson, Jr. of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Shelva Monone Goude, William G. Jayroe, Jr., Troy N. Jayroe, and Joshua C. Jayroe; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2002, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church at 3 o'clock. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill and the Rev. Richard C. Jayroe. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.

THOMPSON, Carleston
GEORGETOWN, S.C. - Carleston L. "C.L." Thompson, Sr., 63, died Thursday. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of MORRIS FUNERAL HOME in Hemingway with burial following in the Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Collin and Lois Pope Thompson. He was a building contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Coker Thompson of the home; sons, Carleston Thompson, Jr., Stan Thompson, John Thompson all of Georgetown; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Bertie Mae Harris, Pansy Kelly, Jackie Whitton and Louannis Duster all of Columbia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sunday Thompson and his sister, Carol Terry.

CIGANOVIC, Matthew
Matthew "Pokemon" Scott Ciganovic, age 13, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at MUSC. He was born December 8, 1988, in Lawton, Okla., the son of Denny and Kay F. Ciganovic. Matthew was a fifth grader at Charles Pinkney Elementary School and formerly attended Whitesides Elementary and Belle Hall Elementary Schools. He had just earned his Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts, Pack 40. He enjoyed swimming, soccer and softball, and the many children who joined him. Music played a special part in his life as he learned to write songs and play instruments such as the steel drum, cymbals and recorder. He was happiest when engaging with the other children in play as he helped us learn to celebrate simple joys and the importance of sharing life with loving friends who accept and honor each other regardless of ability.
Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Kay and Denny Ciganovic. In addition, special people in his life include, Grandma Faron, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Gramma Loud, of New York, N.Y.; Uncle Jay Faron and his children, Katie and John of Winterville, N.C.; aunt, Libby Faron and uncle Ed and their children, Abby and David of Summit, N.J.; Uncle Mark and Aunt Terri Ciganovic of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Cathy Proctor and her children, Jesse and Jared of Halifax, Pa.; and many extended family members and friends, especially those from Whitesides and Pinckney Elementary Schools.
