MCKENZIE, Elizabeth
FLORENCE - Elizabeth Smiley McKenzie, 76, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Southland Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. McKenzie, a daughter of the late Lewis and Josephine Olive Wade Smiley, was born April 24, 1926, at her paternal grandfather's home in Lake City, S.C. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1943, then attended Winthrop College. Mrs. McKenzie held many jobs, such as court reporter, legal secretary, bookkeeper and interior decorator. She was employed with Dusenbury, Dusenbury, McKenzie Attorneys at Law, Raymond K. McKenzie Law Practice & Brown Memorials all in Florence, S.C.; also she was employed with Muckenfuss & Associates, CPA's, Boilermakers Local Office & Salt Marsh Interiors all in Charleston, S.C. Mrs. McKenzie was also owner/operator of "Interiors by Libby" in Charleston, S.C. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church in Florence since 1953, member and past officer in American Business Women's Association (ABWA), member for many years of the "Young Republicans" in Charleston, S.C., and member of Arthur Murray Dance in Charleston, S.C.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia McKenzie (Tom) Blackmon of Florence, and M. Elizabeth (Steve Douglas) McKenzie of Florence; one son, Ray (Annie Nason) McKenzie of Charleston.
Mrs. McKenzie was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, James Edward and Bell Lee Waters Wade; her paternal grandparents, Samuel James and Addie Elizabeth Lewis "Nanny" Smiley; one sister, Josephine Olive Smiley Cook.
Mrs. McKenzie leaves behind many dear friends, especially Virginia Swaggard, Caroline Smalls and all those at McLeod Hospice of the Pee Dee.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in the Lake City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

BRANTON, Levi
Levi Lewis Branton, 79, of Moncks Corner, S.C., a retired construction worker, died Monday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2002, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in Macedonia Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.
Mr. Branton was born May 28, 1922, in Columbus, Ga., a son of Walter Branton and Sally Crawford Branton. He served as a Tech Sgt. in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veteran's.
Surviving are, his wife, Sally Scott Branton; a daughter, Joy B. Lear of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Eshton Lewis of Moncks Corner, Stella Way of Mt. Pleasant, and Winnie Hansen of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Matthew Scott Lear and Kati Lear both of Mt. Pleasant; a nephew, Jimmy Branton of Moncks Corner; and several other nieces and nephews.

Martha Josephine "Jo" Thomas, widow of Magnus R. Thomas, of Charleston, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at her residence. She was born October 16, 1926, in Lake Charles, La., a daughter of Charles William Rawlins and Vesa Bula Mitchell Rawlins. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Martha Zoller of Houston, Texas, Beverly Martin and Marilynn McMillian of James Island; three sons, Chuck Thomas of Lafayette, La., Bob Thomas of Barrington, Ill., and Ken Thomas of James Island; two sisters, Catherine Gateka of Lake Charles, La., Mary Virginia Ireton of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren. FLINT, Paul
Paul G. Flint, 81, of Cross, a retired Sergeant Major with the U.S. Marine Corps, died Saturday at a Summerville hospital.
The graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, St. Stephen. Burial will be directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
Mr. Flint was born August 23, 1920 at Punta Gorda, Florida, a son of John H. Flint and Rubie Rasch Flint. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 5th Marine Division Association (Iwo Jima). He was a former Oakland Club Conservation Enforcement Officer.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Leeper Flint of Cross; daughter, Paula Jean Flint of James Island; sister, Pauline Knight of Venice, Fla.; six nieces and nephews; many grand-nieces and nephews.

TILLER, Dorine
GEORGETOWN - Dorine Comp Tiller, 73, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in a local Charleston hospital.
Mrs. Tiller was born in White City, Kan. on May 22, 1928, a daughter of the late John Howard Comp and Alice Marie Henry Comp. Mrs. Tiller grew up in Kansas and was a registered nurse and graduate of the nursing school at the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Tiller was an active communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church and served her church as a member and past president of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of Winyah Chapter #3-064 of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a volunteer for Hospice of Georgetown County, Inc.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. George E. Tiller of Georgetown; a son, John H. Tiller of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Delma C. Boyer of Council Grove, Kan. and Myra C. Bouck of Laguna Woods, Calif.
She was predeceased by a son, George Edwin Tiller, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2002, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener and the Rev. Dr. Michael G. Cole. Burial will follow in the Churchyard under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at the church parish hall immediately following the committal service.
