JONES, Douglas
GEORGETOWN - Douglas C. Jones, 62, was released to the Lord by death on April 28, 2002, in Miami, Fla. after a recent illness. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to all who knew him.
He was born in Ayden, N.C., on March 19, 1940 a son of Glennie R. Jones and Eleanor Manning Jones. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University and a businessman for many years before being an ordained minister. He began traveling and teaching several years ago under Victory Christian Fellowship of Georgetown and Shiloh Place Ministries of Conway. Entrepreneur, international itinerant teacher and missionary, he taught in the United States, Canada, China, Africa, Latvia, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Dominican Republic, Nova Scotia, Scotland, England, and Wales. His final missionary trip to Uganda.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Jean T. Jones of Georgetown; a son, Doug G. Jones and his wife, Kim, of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kim Jones of Georgetown; a brother, Harry Jones of Florence; three sisters, Barbara Rippon, Mary Lenhart and Betty Deans, all of Newport News, Va.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002 in the sanctuary at the Victory Christian Fellowship, (843) 546-8242. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2002, at Victory Christian Fellowship. Burial directed by Georgetown Chapel of MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME, INC., will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

A memorial service for Mary (Betty) Pontiff Finger will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2002 at St. Stephen Episcopal Church, St. Stephen, SC. Mrs. Finger was the wife of the late John W. Finger, Jr. and the daughter of the late Nolan L. and Adele Lloyd Pontiff. She was a native of Charleston, SC and lived for the past several years in Mebane, NC. KNOBEL, Anna
NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Anna Carmelita Knobel, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, Md. she had been a peninsula resident since 1992. She retired as a bar manager for the Charleston AFB Radar NCO Club, Charleston, S.C. in 1987.
Mrs. Knobel was a member of Virginia Beach Elks Lodge #2268, Women of the Moose Warwick Lodge #1386, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Denbigh Post 368. She was a former member of Emblem Club #184 of Newport News Elks Lodge #315, where she also served as Veterans Chair-person.
Mrs. Knobel is survived by her husband, Karl G. Knobel of Newport News; three sons, James O. Mullineaux and his wife, Ellen Gillard, of Newport News, Guy Mullineaux and his wife, Lybra, of Charleston, S.C., and Glen Mullineaux and his wife, Charlene, of Summerville, S.C.; one brother, Patrick Kinsella and his wife, Ruth, of Somerset, Pa.; two sisters, Rita Elitz and Peggy Doyal, both of Baltimore, Md.; and three grandchildren, Jonett, Hunter, and Logan.

Mary Patricia Meitzler Nelms, 79, widow of Charles N.D. Nelms, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at a local hospital. Church and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator at Giant Cement Co., of Harleyville, S.C.

HODGES, Lillian

Mrs. Hodges was born January 29, 1923, in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Onesime Morin and Sadie Hopewell. She retired as a registered nurse at MUSC and was an Alumni of the Medical University School of Nursing. She was a member of Adams Run Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Felix Morin of Hawthorne, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.

BROWN, Justin
Justin Allen Brown, aged 19, of 1518 Southwick Drive, Johns Island, S.C., entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 29, 2002. He was living in Winter Park, Fla., where he was a full-time student at Full Sail University.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 5, 1982, he was the son of Candice Lynn Brown and Arthur Allen Brown. He moved with his mother and grandmother to Charleston in August of 1985.
Justin was a member of St. James Episcopal Church on James Island. He attended Harbor View Elementary, Sea Island Academy, James Island Middle School, Academic Magnet High School, and graduated through the Teachers, Inc., Homeschool Association on May 31, 2000. He excelled in his studies, was an accomplished guitarist, and an avid athlete. He played soccer, baseball, football, and basketball throughout his school years. He was involved in Boy Scouts, and enjoyed camping, canoeing, whitewater rafting, golf, and surfing. His love of animals was evidenced by his many pets.
Justin's goal upon graduation from Full Sail was to pursue a career in audio post-production in the film industry. His interest in the entertainment industry began early in life when he represented the Fox 24 Kids Club on local television.
Prior to college, Justin owned and successfully operated Interior Elegance, an interior trim company, in the Charleston area.
Justin was known for his sense of humor, his music, and his loyalty to his friends and family. He was loved deeply and will be sadly missed by his mother, Candice L. Brown, a teacher at Stiles Point Elementary on James Island, his father, Arthur A. Brown, of Germantown, Md., his maternal grandmother, Gaynell Galus of Johns Island, his maternal grandfather, Eugene J. and Babe Olive Galus of James Island, his aunt and uncle, Joe and Beth Galus of Summerville, uncle Bill Brown of New Mexico, and many, many great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. His late paternal grandparents were Harland A. and Mary Louise Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., at STUHR'S DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun St., Charleston. Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at St. James Episcopal Church, Camp Road, James Island, with the Reverend Arthur Jenkins and Reverend Floyd Finch officiating.
