Mrs. Limehouse was born August 26, 1927, in Abbeville, S.C., a daughter of the late Jean L. Gibert and the late Thelma Russell Gibert. She was a homemaker and member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for 50 years.
Survivors include her husband of Summerville, two sons, Robert A. "Bob" Limehouse, III, of Summerville, S.C., Jean William "Bill" Limehouse of Augusta, Ga., two grandsons, Robert A. Terry Lynn Hardesty, 57, of Summerville, S.C., husband of Sharon Elizabeth Murphy Hardesty, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a local hospital.

Mr. Hardesty was born October 12, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Warren E. Hardesty and Valeria "Pete" Lewandowski of Westerville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Kent State University, an Army veteran of Viet Nam and a member of Summerville Church of Christ. He was employed as an electrical sales representative for Eck Supply Company.
Survivors include his wife of Summerville, five daughters, Beth McGregor of Salt Lake City, Utah, Diane Watson of Virginia Beach, Va., Christine Evans of Johnson City, N.Y., Sara Berry of St. Louis, Mo., Caryn Hardesty of Summerville, S.C., his mother of Westerville, Ohio, one brother, Jeffrey Hardesty of Atlanta, Ga., one sister, Sandra Hardesty of Westerville, Ohio, and six grandchildren.

Charles Edward Grooms, Jr., 91, husband of Virginia H. Grooms, of North Charleston, S.C., died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Sandpiper Convalescent Home. Graveside funeral services will be held, Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Riverview Memorial Park at 3 o'clock. Viewing will be this Saturday evening at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 DORCHESTER ROAD, from 6 until 8 o'clock.
Capt. Grooms was born March 5, 1911, in Charleston, S.C. He was the son of Charles Edward Grooms, Sr., and Sulie J. Grooms. He was a member of the Charleston County Police Department and retired as Captain in 1970. He also served on the North Charleston Fire Department. He was a member of North Charleston Ham Radio Club. He was a Methodist.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Grooms of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Reverend Charles E. Grooms, III, of Mt. Pleasant; a granddaughter, Reverend Cynthia G. Duggan of Mt. Pleasant; two great-grandchildren, Seph Duggan and Hannah Rebecca Duggan; sisters and brothers, Mildred A. Rooke, Sulie J. Patterson, James B. Grooms, Mary Ives, all of Charleston. He will also be remembered by his daughter-in-law, Reverend Jan Grooms and his grandson-in-law, Patrick J. Duggan, both of Mt. Pleasant.

WIGGINS, John
WALTERBORO - Mr. John Henry Wiggins, 74, of 217 Tiger Road, died Friday at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery near Bells.
Mr. Wiggins was born in Walterboro, a son of the late Bill Wiggins and Lelia Morris Wiggins. He was a truck driver for 56 years and was presently driving for Walden Transport. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, presently serving as an Elder and as an Activity Committee member and had served in the Sunday school presidency and Elders Quorum Presidency. He was first married to the late Ruby Bryan Wiggins.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Benton Robertson Wiggins, sons, John Henry Wiggins, Jr., of Elgin and Robbie Wiggins of Chapin, daughters, Shirley Wiggins Smith of Lexington and Penny Robertson Nettles of Ruffin, a sister, Pearl W. Irick of Hanahan, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn Wiggins.

KUPPENS, Sr., Richard
Richard Alexander ("Dick") Kuppens, Sr., 81, died Thursday May 16, 2002 at a local hospital. He was born in Hartford, Conn. on April 3, 1921, and raised in Needham, Mass. He was a son of Jacob Nicholas Kuppens and Mary Chamberlain Kuppens. He was employed by the United States Civil Service from 1940 until he retired as Head, Nuclear Inspection Division, at the Charleston Naval Shipyard in 1976. He went on to work in Bandar, Abbas, Iran as a consulting engineer for Life Cycle Engineering, Inc. until his retirement in 1991. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe as a member of the U.S. Army Air Force, and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Surviving him are his loving wife of 58 years, Lillian Perry Kuppens, his children, Richard A. Kuppens of Columbia, S.C., Kristine K. Holmes of Calif., Thomas N. Kuppens of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and John F. Kuppens of Columbia, S.C., his brothers, Francis Kuppens of New Hampshire, and Frederick Kuppens of New Hampshire, his grandchildren, Kelly Kuppens Wisherd, Nicole Holmes Mihalas, Richard A. Kuppens, III, Jason Candler Holmes, Emily Aiale Kuppens, and Thomas N. Kuppens, Jr., his great-grandchild Nicholas Whilden Mihalas, and family friend Clementine Ellis. Georgia Elizabeth "Betty" Hogan, 77, of Estill, S.C., passed away Friday, May 17, 2002, in Charlotte, N.C.
Mrs. Hogan is the daughter of the late Charles Strozier and Shelly Kea Strozier. She was born March 19, 1925, and was preceded in death by William K. Hogan and Amos B. White. Survivors include her sons, Robert T. White and wife, Ellen; Joseph B. White and wife, Nancy; Charles R. White; her daughter, Nancy W. Norris and husband, Michael; her grandchildren, Adam and Ricky White; Traci and Carrie White; Jason and Megan White; Kathleen, Michael and Kelin Norris; and Dolly, her dog and special companion.
After being graduated from high school in Milan, Ga., Betty moved to Savannah, Ga., and on to Daytona Beach, Fla., where she made her home until 1966 when she moved to Estill to be close to her brother, the late John M. Strozier. She made a career working for the South Carolina Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1988.
Betty loved gardening, helping others and her family. She will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and her generous and giving spirit. Not only will she be missed by her children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, but also by her many close friends where she made her life and home in Estill. As all of us were special to her, she and her strong, determined spirit will remain special in our lives.
Graveside services will be held, Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m., in the Lawtonville Cemetery near Estill, S.C., directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME.
Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Estill Presbyterian Church Social Hall.

Mrs. Hodges was born in Smoaks, SC and was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Mosley and Ollis Jenkins Mosley. She received her education in the public Schools of Colleton and Orangeburg Counties.
She was a member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church and served as an usher in the church and a member of the Missionary Society.

Mr. Myers was born October 21, 1915, in Cross, S.C., a son of Eddie D. Myers and Sabrie Williams Myers. He was an Army veteran of W.W.II. He is the widower of Lilla Mae Collins Myers. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and was a honorary member of the Buck Ranch Hunting Club.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
