WALTERS, Joe
Mr. Joe F. Walters, 58, of Charlotte, N.C., died May 23, 2002 at his residence.
Mr. Walters was born June 12, 1943 in Charlotte, N.C., a son of Gladys Isabella Howie Walters and the late Daniel Pie Walters. He was a 32nd Degree Mason where he was a member of the Charles M. Setzer Masonic Lodge #693. He was an active Shriner where he was a member of the Oasis Temple of the Shrine and member of the Oasis Steele Drum Band. He served on the Board of Directors with The Red Fez Shrine Club.
A service to celebrate the life of Joe F. Walters will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 from the McEwen Charlotte Chapel with The Rev. James Edgar officiating. Masonic Rites will follow. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park with the Oasis Steele Drum Band playing. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the McEwen Charlotte Chapel.
Mr. Walters is survived by his wife, Carolyn Walters of Charlotte; daughter, Carolyn Marie Rayano of Charlotte; his mother, Mrs. Gladys Walters of Greenville, S.C.; three brothers, Jim Walters of Gainesville, Ga.; Charlie Walters of Greenville, S.C. and Buck Walters of Kiawah Island, S.C.; three grandchildren, Joe, Austin and Justin.

MUCKENFUSS, Thomas
Master Sgt. Thomas William "Muck" Muckenfuss, U.S. Air Force, Ret., 77, of Moncks Corner, S.C. died Wednesday at his residence.
The funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. this Friday afternoon, May 24, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will be in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.
Mr. Muckenfuss was born March 12, 1925, in Osborne, S.C., a son of James Eugene Muckenfuss and Florence Enid Weeks Muckenfuss. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a tail gunner in the B-24 Liberator. He also served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He made the military a career and retired from the Air Force in December of 1966. He moved back to Moncks Corner and opened Muck's Welding Service. In later years, he also owned Muck's Tackle Shop. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday School Teacher, deacon, and drove the bus for the senior citizens for many years. He was a member of the Savannah Hunting Club, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the American Legion, the 456 Bomb Group Assoc., and the Wednesday morning Senior Bowling League. He was a graduate of St. Paul's High School in Hollywood.
Surviving are, his wife, Della Rhodes Muckenfuss; two daughters, Gwen Harvey of Moncks Corner and Cindy Moon of Lake City; two sons, Tom "Billy" Muckenfuss of Pinopolis and Jim Muckenfuss of Bonneau; two sisters, Inez Atkins of Moncks Corner and Patricia Sires of Charleston; one brother, James Muckenfuss of Edisto; and 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jenter was born September 20, 1916, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., the son of Martin E. Jenter and Emile A. Jenter. He was an architect with Jenter Associates. He served with the U.S. Navy during W.W.II.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Jenter of Pelham, N.Y., and Johns Island; two daughters, Gay Elizabeth Flynn of Jacksonville, Fla., and Karen Lynn Jenter of New Rochelle, N.Y.; one son, Martin W. Jenter of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and three grandchildren.
