Mrs. Lynch Harry Deas Boykin, the former Caroline Le Conte Simons, born July 17, 1898 in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of the late William Baynard and Laura Adams Hanahan Simons, died May 23, 2002 at Covenant Place in Sumter, S. C. Following her marriage she lived in the Boykin, S.C. Community since 1919. She enjoyed a full life by experimenting in cooking with herbs, gardening, crocheting, making hooked rugs, place mats, caning chairs, making English lavender sachets and fishing with her husband. She also was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Camden, past president of the Senior Citizens Handcraft Group and a charter member of Planned Parenthood of Kershaw County.
Mrs. Boykin is survived by a daughter, Caroline Boykin Haslam of Wilmington, Del., 2 sons; L.H. Deas Boykin, Jr. of Hollywood, Fla. and William Baynard Boykin and his wife, Matilda, of Boykin; grandchildren; Caroline Haslam Jones, Alice Mae Haslam, Anne Marie Haslam, Ruth Boykin, Leroy Sweet Boykin, James W. C. Boykin and Richard Deas Boykin; 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson Willis Boykin, a great-grandson James Jones, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

COOK, Truluck
AYNOR - Truluck Cook, age 63, of 7th Avenue, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at his residence following an illness.
Mr. Cook was born in Aynor a son of the late Quentin and Corine Johnson Cook. He was a member of Aynor Baptist Church. Mr. Cook earned a Bachelors Degree from Jacksonville State in 1963 and a Masters degree from the Citadel in 1976. He taught in the Charleston County Schools for 30 years and was a substitute teacher after retirement. He also worked with the Literacy Counsel. He was predeceased by a brother, John W. Cook, of Rockhill, S.C.
Surviving are, one daughter, Marie Weatherford and her husband Allen and, one son, Quentin G. Cook and his wife Michelle all of Moncks Corner; two brothers, G. Robert Cook and his wife Robin of Columbia and Raymond Cook of N. Charleston; three sisters, Fay Berry and her husband Don, Elizabeth Ward and her husband Larry and Bonnie Godsey and her husband Tony all of Aynor; three grandchildren, Luke Weatherford, Kayla Cook and Amanda Cook all of Moncks Corner.

Mr. Hamilton was born March 5, 1924, in Charleston, S.C., son of Rev. Dr. Z.P. Hamilton and Annie Louise Melton Hamilton. The widower of Mary Martin Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a W.W.II veteran, serving in the Army Airforce as a B-17 gunner. He worked for Sears 25 years and Life of Va. Insurance Co. seven years.
He taught Sunday school for 50 years. He served as a deacon at Rutledge Avenue Baptist Church and James Island Baptist Church. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Charleston Baptist Church at the time of his death.
He is survived by his three sons, John W. Hamilton, Jr., Dr. Ronald T. Hamilton, Donald F. Hamilton, all of Charleston, S.C., three daughters, Dianne L. Hamilton of Charleston, S.C., Teresa A. Bender of Paducah, Ky., Donna L. Barrett of Toccoa, Ga., one sister, Helen H. Brown of Greenville, S.C., and ten grandchildren.

PRIESTER, Gloria
Mrs. Gloria Jean DeWitt Preister, 60, of 170 Idlewood Circle in West Columbia, died early Saturday morning after an extended illness. Mrs. Priester was born in Hampton, May 16, 1942, a daughter of the late Charlie E. "Bub" DeWitt, Sr., and Corrie Sauls DeWitt. She had been a machine operator with Pirelli Cables and Systems, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include, one brother, David J. DeWitt, of North Charleston; three sisters, Joyce D. Horres, of Varnville, Barbara D. Cook, of Beaufort, and Patsy D. Lafontaine, of Hampton; one god-child, Tara Elizabeth Sanders, of West Columbia. Mrs. Priester was pre-deceased by a son, Bradley Hiers Priester.
Funeral services will be held, Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME, with burial following in the St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at 84 Bobwhite Trail in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Lowcountry in Hilton Head.

Mary Ruth Brinson Hood, 78, of Bonneau, died Friday at a Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Hood was born October 18, 1923, at Berkeley County, S.C., a daughter of Rennie Brinson and Annie Causey Brinson. She was a member of the Bonneau Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the widow of Howard B. (Teddy) Hood, Sr.

Mr. Fullmore was born on August 4, 1936, in Charleston, S.C., a son of the late Thomas Clinton Fullmore and Mary Ella Widener Fullmore. He was a graduate of North Charleston High School and the University of South Carolina. He served in the United States National Guard. He was owner of Fullmore's Furniture and was a sales manager with Discount Auto Brokers and Brad Wyndham's Used Cars. He was of the Lutheran faith.
