AIKEN, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. George A. Cook will be held Sunday, May 26, 2002 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Inc., Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Leo Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neley Siegler, Tony Corley, Gene Morgan, Kenny Williams, Clarence Shealy, and George Raborn, Jr. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2002 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Cook, 59, of Aiken, SC, husband of Mrs. Alberta Austin Cook, died Thursday, night, May 23, 2002 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, he was a son of the late Albert Otto Cook and the late Ethel Lucile Coker Cook. George had been a metal fabricator with OMC for fourteen years prior to his health declining and was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and music.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Alberta Cook, sons, Daniel George Cook and Albert Otto Cook, both of Aiken, SC; daughters, Celena Grace Cook Snipes, Aiken, SC, Teresa M. Bunch, Holly Hill, SC, Cynthia A. George, Walterboro, SC, Sharon E. Murray, Aiken, SC; Loretta A. Beckett, Aiken, SC, and Karen D. Urbano, Aiken, SC; devoted brother, James R. Cook and his fiancée, Joan, Aiken, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert E. Austin, Walterboro, SC, Lurline E. Bunch, Holly Hill, SC, Jeanie L. Overlock, Summerville, SC, Raymond L. Austin, Ridgeville, SC, Ernie R. Austin, California, Julia M. Martin, Aynor, SC, Nellie W. Heape, Cross, SC, and Wilbur L. Mrs. Bateman was born on June 24, 1917, in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of the late Milton N. and Mae Patterson Nelson. She was a homemaker and member of Dorchester-Waylyn Baptist Church.
Surviving are her two sons, M. Joel Bateman of Charleston, S.C., and Ashton S. Bateman, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Milton F. Nelson of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

SEYMOUR, William
Entered into eternal rest on the evening of May 24, 2002, William Wesley Seymour, M.D., husband of Frances Cannon Seymour, residence Charleston, S.C. Relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. William Wesley Seymour are invited to attend the funeral service of the former at the graveside, Monday, May 27, 2002, at 11 o'clock in Old St. Andrew's Parish Episcopal Churchyard.
Dr. Seymour was born February 2, 1925, in Charleston, S.C., son of William Quitman Seymour and Elizabeth Williams Seymour. Dr. Seymour was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul. Dr. Seymour was a U.S. Navy W.W.II Veteran and a graduate of Medical University of S.C. He was retired from the Medical University of S.C. as a Student Health Physician.
He is survived by his wife Frances Cannon Seymour of Charleston, S.C., and Brother Dr. E. Quitman Seymour of Charleston, S.C.

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 24, 2002, Charles Richard Llewellyn, Jr., husband of Linda Sellers Llewellyn. Residence, Hanahan, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richard Llewellyn, Jr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Monday, at 11 o'clock in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Hwy. #165, Hollywood, S.C.
Mr. Llewellyn, Jr., was born August 3, 1958, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Charles R. Llewellyn, Sr., and Gail Douglas Llewellyn. He was a graduate of Hanahan High School. He was a machine operator with Robert Bosch Corporation.
He is survived by his parents of Yonges Island, S.C.; his wife of Hanahan, S.C.; one son, John Douglas Llewellyn of Hanahan, S.C.; one sister, Linda L. Johnson of Hanahan, S.C., and one nephew, Cameron S. Johnson of Hanahan, S.C.

MERSEREAU, Wilder
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Wilder (Bill) Bryant Mersereau, 90, died Friday, May 17, 2002.
Born September 3, 1911, in New York City, N.Y., to Jones Warren Wilder and Edith Bryant Mersereau, he was a 1933 graduate of Amherst College receiving his BA in English and History, cum laude.
Mr. Mersereau, a W.W.II veteran, was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps serving from 1942 to 1946 with the 73rd Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force, earning three Campaign Stars.
A Resident of Chapel Hill since 1994, he retired from the Home Insurance Company, Fire and Casualty Administration in New York City, N.Y., in 1976 and the U.S. Census Bureau in 1980. Mr. Mersereau was a longtime member of Glen Rock (New Jersey) Community Church, and the Glen Rock Activities Club, as well as a volunteer with Community Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Suzanne Herbert Mersereau; son, Warren Wilder Mersereau and wife, Nancy Muller; son, Jon Abbott Mersereau and wife Cindy, all of Charleston, S.C.; his brother, J. Warren Mersereau, of Parlin, N.J.; cousin, E. Claire Hardy of Chapel Hill. Also surviving are grandchildren, Bryant Garrison Mersereau and Davis Grayson Mersereau, Sharon Mersereau Snook and Private William Cullen Bryant Mersereau; step-grandchildren, Michael P. Smith and Amy M. Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Snook.
A memorial service is scheduled for June 2, 2002, at 2 p.m., at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the Lown Cardiovascular Research Foundation, 21 Longwood Ave., Brookline, Mass. 02446, or the Amherst College Scholarship Fund, Treasurer's Office, Amherst, Mass. 01002.

Roxie Williams Fipps, 76, widow of Layton Fipps, of Summerville, S.C., died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at her residence.

Mrs. Fipps was born on December 6, 1925, in Gastonia, N.C., a daughter of Rev. Paul Robert Williams and Olie Fipps Williams. She was a retired sales clerk for W.T. Grant and Woolworth. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Russell L. Fipps of Summerville; two daughters, Joyce Douglas, of Summerville and Frances Watford of Gray Court, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

MORRIS, Sr., James
James Robert "J.R." Morris, Sr., 70, of Bethera, S.C., a supervisor of shipping and receiving for Duncan-Parnell, Inc., died Saturday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday morning, May 28, 2002, in the Eccles United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Monday evening.
Mr. Morris was born October 25, 1931, in Huger, S.C., a son of Robert Chester Morris and Annie Gaskins Morris. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School. He was of the Methodist Faith.
Surviving are, his wife, Dorothy Murray Morris; his mother of Huger; three sons, James R. "J.R." Morris, Jr., James Ronnie Morris, and Mark A. Morris, all of Huger; two sisters, Irene Scott of Bluffton and Jane Koth of Charleston; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
