YEMASSEE - Jermaine Wright, 21, of the White Hall Community died Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Walterboro.
The funeral will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in Ebenezer C.M.E. Church in the White Hall Community. Burial will be in Heyward Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born in Colleton County and was the son of Edgar Wright and Eva McPherson Wright. He was a 1999 graduate of Walterboro High School and was employed at Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Walterboro.
Surviving are, his parents of White Hall; two brothers, Edgar Wright, Jr., Beaufort and Gerard Wright of Wilmington, Del.; one sister, Christine Breland, White Hall; his grandparents, Rev. Cleveland and Lovie Wright of White Hall and Mamie McPherson, White Hall; a great-grandmother, Emma Rivers of Walterboro.

WALTERBORO - Sherrill C. Hiott, 91, a retired teacher and school administrator, died Monday at the Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Fred Parker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Glenn S. Sherman and Rev. Donald E. Wrigley. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mr. Hiott was born Oct. 1, 1910 in Colleton County, a son of the late Stephen Westbury Hiott and Josie Hiott Hiott. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and attended Grace Advent Christian Church. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He taught and served as Administrator in Bethune, Simpsonville, Aiken County, Colleton County and Fairfield County.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Craig Hiott, two sons, Sherrill C. Hiott, Jr. of Barnwell, William David Hiott of Clemson, five daughters, Dr. Sara Irrgang of Sorrento, Fla., Katherine Haines of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret (Cindy) Belknap of Walterboro, Dr. Dorothy Muller of Greenville, and Dr. Jo Ann Hiott of Mt. Pleasant, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the University of South Carolina Educational Fund, The American Leukemia Society or the American Diabetes Association.

SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. - Robert L. Pinson, Sr., age 84 of South Bay Lakes died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born November 3, 1917 in Greenville, S.C., a son of the late Mary Julia Sewing and John Lucius Pinson. Mr. Pinson was a US Air Force veteran and served as the Crew Chief for the 343rd Squadron, 55th Fighter Group in England during WWII. He is a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8980 and a former member of Council 5810 where he served as District Deputy. He was a member of VFW Post 10420, and Elks Lodge 1771. Mr. Pinson was an avid golfer, formerly serving as president of Myrtlewood Golf Course Men's Group and he started Raccoon Run Men's Club. He was the co-founder and former president of the Intercoastal Seniors Golf Association.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Lavenia Griffith Pinson, 5 sons, Robert L. Pinson, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Avondale, Pa., Michael A. Pinson and wife Becky of Jacksonville, Fla., Stanley F. Pinson and wife Janice of Brevard, N.C., Joseph B. Pinson of Brevard, N.C. and John G. Pinson of Surfside Beach, S.C., 3 daughters, Mary Alice Thomas and husband James of Monroe, N.C., Cindy Goldston O'Niell and husband Shawn of Surfside Beach, S.C., Margaret A. Mr. McMillan was born October 26, 1917 in Lometa, Texas, the son of the late Garnet Eldred and Lillian Robinson McMillan. Mr. McMillan was a graduate of Charleston High School and a veteran of both the United States Coast Guard and the United States Navy during World War II. Afterwards Mr. McMillan had worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a machinist in shop #38 and also retired from the Charleston County Tax Assessors office as a clerk. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Hartsville, S.C.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlene McMillan Stokes of Hartsville, S.C. and Dianne McMillan Brown of Summerville, S.C.; one sister, Gussie Dougherty of Lynchburg, S.C.; four grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Jimmy Brown and Darlene Unbewust all of Summerville, S.C. and Crystal Johnson of Hartsville, S.C.; six great-grandchildren, James Thomas Brown, III, Rylee Brown, Ashlynn Unbewust, Haley Unbewust, Brooke Johnson and Hunter Johnson.

Arthur Walker (Art) Price, Jr., 66, of Valdosta, died Monday, May 27, 2002 at his home after a short illness with cancer. He was born on February 26, 1936 in Florence, S.C. to the late Arthur Walker Price, Sr. and Flossie Mixon Price of Timmonsville, S.C. Art was retired from Ceco Corp. as Production Engineer and was a licensed real estate broker in Georgia retiring in Atlanta in 1995. Art is a Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason and Shriner. He was elected this year as Oriental Guide serving on Hasan Templer elected Divan. He is also a member of the Royal Order of Jeslens serving on the Albany Court. He was a member of the Valdosta Shrine Club serving in several offices and a member of the Hasan Oriental Band. Art is a charter member of Pipes and Drums in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Hyatt Price of Valdosta, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and David Wade, Renee and Ken Busby all of Valdosta, one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Sherrie C. and Tony Perkins of Lake Park, four grandchildren, one sister, Linda Getsinger of Charleston, S.C. and one brother, Billy Price of Macon.

WALTERBORO - Mary McKenzie Todd, 80, a registered nurse and widow of J. Richard Todd, died Tuesday at the Methodist Oaks.

Mrs. Todd was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Williamsburg Co., a daughter of the late Graham Garfield McKenzie and Myrtle Cooper McKenzie. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a graduate of the McLeod Infirmary.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Wynn Girardeau of Walterboro, a sister, Doris M. Wall of Nesmith, and four grandchildren, Gini, Alyssa, Margaret and John Girardeau all of Walterboro. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie M. Duke and Myrtlene M. Haselden.
