Minnie Lee Sons Yarborough
PENDLETON - Minnie Lee Sons Yarborough, 78, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at her residence.
born August 28, 1929, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Lester and Essie Arnold Sons. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Yarborough of the home; daughters, Patsy B. Peppers and her husband, Walter of Lawrenceville, Ga., Cathy Appner and her husband, Mitch of Burnsville, N.C.; and son, Edward R. Brazell and his wife Brenda of Columbia; three grandchildren, Benjamin Moseley of Aiken, Melissa G. Bisset of Hawaii, and Travis Brazell of Irmo; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter Sons of West Columbia; James Sons of Columbia, Fred, George and Donnie Sons, all of Lexington; and sisters, Margie Carter, Mary Green, Ruth Koon and Ann Watkins, all of Lexington. She was beloved by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katarina Leeann Rich and two brothers.
Memorial services were held Oct. 13 at Sullivan-King Mortuary in Anderson, with interment in the M.J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans cemetery at a later date.

ANSONIA, Conn. -- Robert Gregg, 82, of Ansonia, Conn., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Ansonia.
Survivors include a sister, Selma Perry of Beaufort; and a brother, Douglass Gregg of Beaufort.

Winnie Bell Singleton
PHILADELPHIA -- Winnie Bell Singleton, 87, of Philadelphia, wife of Marion Singleton, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in Philadelphia.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at White Rock Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Burial will be in Fernwood cemetery, Philadelphia.
Mrs. Singleton was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Beaufort, the daughter of Arthur C. and Emma Bell Donaldson.
She was educated in Beaufort County public schools.
In 1928, she became a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Burton. When she moved to Philadelphia, she became a member of White Rock Baptist Church, where she belonged to Helping Hand Circle and Sheepfold Paring of James and Joshua.
She retired in 1977 from International Ladies Garment Workers' Union, where she was a dressmaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronald Singleton of Philadelphia; a brother, Arthur C. Donaldson Jr. of Philadelphia; and cousins from Beaufort and Burton.

Willie Crosby
BLAIR -- Willie Crosby, 63, of the Blair Community of Lancaster, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Crosby was born July 18, 1939, in Blair, a son of Carrie People and Willie Crosby.
He attended McCrorey-Liston High School and was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church.
He served his country as an Air Force veteran.
He also worked for Tyson Foods in Monroe, N.C., and Spring Industries in Lancaster.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa R. Crosby of Great Falls; a daughter, Kenya Crosby of Great Falls; two sons, Michael Richardson of Chester and Steven Richardson of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Vermelle C. Robertson of Columbia, Lillie B. Crosby-Mitchell of Lady's Island and Betty Crosby of Blair; and five grandchildren.

BRANCHVILLE -- Larry L. "Bubba" Hendricks, 42, of Branchville, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Richland Memorial Cancer Center.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Branchville United Methodist Church, with burial following in the Sardis cemetery in Branchville.
Mr. Hendricks was born in Bamberg County. He was the owner of Hendricks Wood Work and Trim Co., a member of the Branchville Masonic Lodge No. 110 and a member of Branchville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette Parrott Hendricks; a daughter, Leslie Adrianna Hendricks; a step-son, Mikie Smoak of Branchville; his mother and father, Larry Hendricks and Joe Ann T. Hendricks of Branchville; a sister, Karen H. Griffith of Bowman; a brother, Juel Hendricks of Branchville; and one granddaughter.

Anne Hall Woods, 64, of Beaufort, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in Bay View Nursing Center.
Mrs. Woods was born March 25, 1940, in Ridgeland, a daughter of Pearl Potter Hall and Samuel Blakely Hall.

Mrs. Woods was a member of the Port Royal United Methodist Church. She was a nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard V. Woods.

New York, N.Y. - Arthur " Mickey" White, III, 57, of New York, N.Y., died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004 in Tisch Hospital in New York.
Services will be at noon Thursday at the Joseph M. Wright Memorial Chapel, with burial in Long Pond cemetery, Lady's Island.
Mr. White was educated at Public School 89 in New York where he excelled in sculpting. He was a member of the Jr. Cadets.
He was a professional chef in New York City.
Survivors include two sons, Craig White and Arthur White IV of New York, N.Y.; his father, Arthur White, Jr. of Lady's Island; an aunt and two uncles.

SAVANNAH - Nathaniel Reynolds, 60, of Savannah, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Mr. Reynolds was a native of the Eustis Community on Lady's Island.

Christena Hightower
ST. HELENA ISLAND - Christena "Hennie" Smalls Hightower, 98, of St. Helena Island, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at her home.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. at Chisholm Galloway Home for Funerals.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nazareth Baptist Church on St. Helena Island, with burial at Coffin Point cemetery on St. Helena Island.
Mrs. Hightower was born on Nov. 16, 1905, in the Coffin Point Community of St. Helena Island.
She attended the community school and at an early age, became a member of the Nazareth Baptist Church.
As a young adult, she moved to Savannah to seek employment. She was a live-in caregiver for a number of years.
She was a faithful member of the Fourth Tabernacle Baptist Church in Charleston. She served in the Missionary Ministry, the Usher Board and the Pastor Aide Ministry.
Survivors include seven nieces; five nephews and a grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hightower, and two sons, Julius Smalls and Marion Wiggs.

MOUNT PLEASANT - Karl David Hale, 62, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mount Pleasant, with burial at 3 p.m. Friday in Fielding Memorial Park cemetery, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Mr. Hale was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of Georgette A. Jollineau Hale and Karl G. Hale.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a business owner who was dedicated to serving his clients in all business matters. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, in which he was an eagle scout, district president and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.
Survivors include two daughters, Tania R. Mellinger of Newcastle, Wash. and Tamara J. Hale of Summerville; two sons, Karl David Hale, Jr. of Beaufort and Brian R. Hale of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Marilyn K. Blair of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Karen J. Murray of Highland, Utah; three brothers, Keith E. Hale of Springville, Utah, Richard K. Hale of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Kregg S. Hale of Provo, Utah; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Willie Lee Graham, 55, of Wadmalaw Island, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

CHARLESTON -- Beutry M. Riley, of the Cummings Community of Varnville, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston.

Ms. Riley was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Hampton County, a daughter of Mary Riley and William Riley.
She was a homemaker and was employed with the River's Family of Hampton.
She was a member of Anna Laurel Baptist Church.
Survivors include six nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Walter M. Riley Sr., and a sister, Ira Bell Wiggins.
Audrey Brown
Audrey Grant Brown, 80, of Beaufort, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, in her home.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Beaufort National cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 19, 1924, in New York City, a daughter of Mamie Pinckney Grant and Aubrey Grant.
She moved to Lady's Island and lived in the Hazel Farm community. She attended Robert Smalls Elementary School.
She worked at Dairy Queen in Port Royal and was an original employee of Garland Knitting Mills, working her way up to supervisor where she remained until the mill closed. She also worked for the city of Beaufort Water Department and received many awards.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she held the position of Sunday School Superintendent for 22 years and worked with Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. Brown Sr.
Survivors include four daughters, Audrey Washington of Lady's Island, Paula Taylor of Middlesex, N.J.; and Maureen Butler and Stephanie Bright of Beaufort; five sons, Harold P. Brown Jr. of Lansing, Mich., George F. Brown of Boston, Jackie D. Brown Sr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Stephen L. Brown, of Beaufort, and Vincent G. Brown of Beaufort: 32 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
