Patricia Gail Pinckney
Patricia Gail Pinckney Patricia Gail Pinckney (Patty), loving daughter, sister, mother and friend passed away on Thursday, September 6th at her home after a brief illness. Ms. Pinckney was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on January 31, 1958. She was the daughter of Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, Sr. and the late Winifred Caldwell Pinckney. Ms. Pinckney graduated with a degree in nursing in 1980 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was a registered nurse for 25 years at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC where she devoted her career to the care of neonatal intensive care babies. She was a member of St George's Episcopal Church where she was active in the Episcopal Church Woman's group. Ms. Pinckney is survived by her father Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, Sr. of Beaufort, South Carolina, her brother, Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, Jr. of Sarasota, Florida, a daughter, Lauren Leigh Skinner, a son Matthew Wade Skinner, a nephew Theodore Gaillard Pinckney, III, a sister-in law Susan E. Pinckney, two aunts, Gladys Hay Pinckney of Columbia, South Carolina, Chloe M. Pinckney of Beaufort, South Carolina, special friends Ann Murray & Terry Landry and numerous cousins and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 5:00 PM in St. George's Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia. A reception will be held in the Family Room of the church immediately following the service. There will be another memorial service whereby her remains will be interred at St Helena's Episcopal Church in Beaufort, SC at a date yet to be determined. Alma Ivory Gardner Alma "Ivory" Gardner 80, a St. Helena Island native, died September 3. 2007, in North General Hospital, New York. She was born February 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Ellen D. Anderson and Abraham Anderson, Sr. Surviving are her sisters, Rose Robinson and Cynthia Holmes of Beaufort, Cinderella Gore and Jeanette Mays of Charleston, SC; one brother, Abraham Anderson, Jr. of Beaufort; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Earl Raymond Steever Earl Raymond Steever, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2007 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He was married
to Janet Geraldine Steever for 67 years. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at Beaufort National cemetery. Mr. Steever was born on October 23, 1919 in Harrisburg, PA. He is the son of the late Walter and Hanna Steever. Earl was a 1937 graduate of John Harris High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, he worked at Sears Roebuck & Co. until his retirement in 1975. He lived on Erbs Bridge Road, Mechanicsburg, PA until relocating to South Carolina in 2005. He was passionate about his Christian faith and was a longtime member of Churches of Christ in Camp Hill, Carlisle, PA, as well as Port Royal, SC. He served as an elder for the Camp Hill Church of Christ for many years. He was an avid Civil War historian and a frequent traveler throughout the United States. A lover of music, he lead singing in church, performed in a Barbershop Quartet and taught himself to play the banjo. He is survived by his wife, Gerry, a daughter, Rebecca Tedder of Beaufort, three grandchildren, Jeff Werkheiser of Lancaster, PA, Wendy Hames of Knoxville, TN and Cory Werkheiser of Cookville, TN, four great grandchildren and a brother, Rolland Steever of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Malinda Werkheiser of Shiremantown, PA and by his son-in-law, Zack Tedder of Beaufort. Anderson Funeral Home is serving the family.

HONEA PATH - Patrick Harris Clinkscales 75, widower of Juanita Wilson Clinkscales, of 123 Barker's Creek Road, died Monday, October 8, 2007. born in Honea Path, he was a son of Pauline Allen Clinkscales and the late Elmer Ernest Clinkscales. He was a member of Barker's Creek Baptist Church, a former Deacon and former School Board Member of Anderson District #2. He retired as owner and operator of Clinkscales Dairy and served in the US Army, Korean Conflict. Surviving are his mother Pauline Allen Clinkscales of Honea Path, two sons Tim and Ray Clinkscales of Honea Path, two daughters Lynn Robertson of Achworth, Ga. and Leah Howell of Starr, two sisters Rachael Jones of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Anne Miller of Vacaville, Ca., and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister Winona Clinkscales. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday at Barker's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Creamer and Rev. Tony Howell officiating. She retired from the Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority in Dayton, OH, and was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Dayton, OH. She is survived by daughters, Teresa Ann McClain of Belton, SC, Deborah Cain of Franklin, OH, Karen McBryde of Dayton, OH; sister, Maggie Childs of Pelzer; and grandchildren, Mark Allen White and Kailey Kittelson. ANDERSON - Joe Earl Rauton, 83, of 215 L Street Anderson, passed at Sunday October 7, 2007 at his residence. born January 1, 1924, in Anderson, he was the son of the late W.J. Rauton and Rucia Sorrow. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during WWII. Mr. Rauton is survived by his sons: Joseph Earl and Terry Rauton, daughter: Rucia Rauton and his brother: Charlie Orion Rauton. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Ida May Frazer Rauton, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday October 11, 2007 at the Woodlawn-Sosebee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Bannister officiating. He was self-employed, the owner of Plaza Laundry of Calhoun Falls and Commercial Laundry Service and Repair. He was also employed by Service Laundry, Inc. of Belton for several years and was employed by Starr Mill for ten years prior to closing. Mr. Erwin was a member of Asaville Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon in previous years. Surviving in addition to his wife are a sister-in-law, Selwyn Clark of Anderson; two brothers, Mark Erwin and wife, Kay of Anderson and Michael Erwin and wife, Kathie of Pendleton; one sister, Claudia Joanne Shiflet and husband, Jay of Starr. Mr. Erwin has two nephews, one great nephew, five nieces and four great nieces, all of Anderson County. He was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony David and Benjamin Levis Erwin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Asaville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Harold Walters. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
