Mr. Henderson died Monday, March 12, 2007. born in New Orleans, La., he was a son of James Simpson Henderson III and Carol Ann Wilhelm Henderson. He was a 1993 graduate of Camden High School where he was assistant editor of the Palmetto Leaf School Paper. He attended the University of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina.
Surviving are his parents of Camden; and brothers, James A. Henderson, Colin S. Henderson, Dane G. Henderson, Evan D. Henderson, and Loewen P. Henderson. He was predeceased by a brother, Christian M. Henderson.
Joe Donnie Barfield

LUGOFF - Funeral services for Joe Donnie Barfield, Jr., 67, will be held Saturday, March 10 at 2:00pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Lugoff with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Charles Ray Everett will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, March 9, from 6:30pm until 8:00pm at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2039 West DeKalb St., Camden, SC 29020-2043 or Trinity Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1062 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, SC 29078.
Mr. Barfield died Wednesday, March 7, 2007. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born in Lugoff, April 24, 1939, a son of the late Joe Donnie Barfield, Sr. and the late Susie Marie Branham Barfield. He was married
to Pansy Latham Barfield on June 8, 1963, in Lugoff. Mr. and Mrs. Barfield were married
for 43 years.
Mr. Barfield graduated from Camden High School in 1957, and attended Clemson University. He enlisted in the US Army on November 21, 1961, at Fort Jackson, SC. In April of 1962, after Basic Training and Advanced Clerical School he was assigned to Headquarters Company, South Post, Fort Myer, VA. There he was assigned to Staff Communications Division, Office of Chief of Staff, US Army, at the Pentagon, Washington, DC. He was honorably discharged January 31, 1965. He retired from E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc. on November 30, 1993, with 28 years of service. He was a long time member of Springvale Baptist Church and a present member of Trinity Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors enjoying nature. His life was centered on the love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren. He was respected by all who knew him as an honest man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William Gregory “Gregg” and Brenda O'Quinn Barfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy Marie and Marvin Leroy Allen, Jr.; four grandsons, Matthew Bryan Barfield, Nathan Ryan Barfield, Joshua Marvin Allen, and Dillon Latham Allen, all of Lugoff; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Richard Lowe of Aiken, SC; a sister-in-law and her husband, Patricia Latham and James “Jim” Davis of Coatesville, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Norma Jean Barfield, and a brother-in-law, William Roger Latham.
Faye Russ Kirkbride

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Faye Russ Kirkbride, 59, formerly of Camden, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church, Lugoff with burial to follow in Quaker cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Youth of Rowan Presbyterian Church or American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
Mrs. Kirkbride died Sunday, January 28, 2007. born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late William Dennis and Ruth Roland Blackwell Russ. She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church.
A loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, she enjoyed family gatherings and playing card games with family and friends on Friday night.
Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Gary Kirkbride; daughters, Melissa Poole Matheus and her husband, Francisco of Quito, Ecuador, and Beth Poole of Elgin; stepchildren, Lisa Kirkbride of Ga., and Marc Kirkbride of Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sue Russ of Lake Wateree; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Olin Jackson of Lugoff, and Vickie and Fred Turner of Lugoff; grandchildren, Melissa, Gabriel, Carla, and Briana Matheus, Lillyanna and Kennedy Kirkbride, Karis Bird and Dayne Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Steven Michael Berwager

CAMDEN - Visitation for Steven Michael Berwager, 36, will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. A private graveside service will be held in Quaker cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
Mr. Berwager died Saturday, January 27, 2007. born in Virginia Beach, Va., he was the son of Ronald Berwager and Carol Wright Garrison.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Anderson Berwager; stepdaughter whom he loved dearly, Haley Marshall of the home; father of Seven Valley, Pa; mother of Lugoff; sister, Cristy Bushea of Elgin, niece, Emma Bushea; grandmother, Erma L. Berwager of Jacobus, Pa.; aunt and uncles, Norma Jean and Wayne Aveyard of Camden, and Larry Siems of Camden; cousins, Don and Melissa Siems and their daughter, Caitlin of Camden, and Loana and Carl Reynolds of Camden; and a loving friend, Edna Wright of Rivesville, W.V. He was predeceased by grandfathers, Donald Wright, and Leonard M. Berwager; and grandmother, Clarice Wright.
Samuel Paul Haddix

Mr. Haddix died Wednesday, January 24, 2007. born in Middletown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Kelly and Ethel Cassidy Haddix. He retired from GE as an Engineer. An avid golfer, he was a member of Becket Ridge Country Club in West Chester, Ohio. He attended The River Church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Brent and Kathy Haddix of Franklin, Tenn., and Michael Allen and Ruth Haddix of Beaver Creek, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Michelle and Kenneth Robert Glenn; grandchildren, Kari Neff, Samantha Haddix, Joseph Haddix, Peter Haddix, James Haddix, and Kyle Glenn.
Rev. Carl Witt

CAMDEN - A memorial service for Rev. Carl Witt, Jr., 77, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the home, 67 Burbage Street, Camden. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Delaware Bible Church in Delaware, Ohio, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery, Delaware, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Gideons International or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Rev. Witt died Tuesday, January 23, 2007. born in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Carl and Sarah Majeske Witt. He was a graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology and Eastern Baptist Seminary. He was the pastor of Radnor Baptist Church in Radnor, Ohio from 1955-1958 and was founder and pastor of Delaware Bible Church in Delaware, Ohio from 1958-1985.
Rev. Witt moved to Camden in 1995 and was a member of the First Baptist Church where he taught an Adult Sunday School Class and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. He was also a member of the Palmetto Mastersingers and was a musician, carpenter/woodworker. He enjoyed high school and college sports.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Vera Mae Witt; children and their spouses, Deborah and Greg Yurchak of Cincinnati, Ohio, Daniel and Tiffany Witt of Delaware, Ohio, John and Pam Witt of Boyertown, Pa., James and Linnea Witt of Roseburg, Org., David and Gabriella Witt of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Sarah and David Haas of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 30 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Jonathan Witt; stepfather, John Weidner; and granddaughters, Kaliana Witt, and Anna Joy Witt.
Herbert Carl Davis

Mr. Davis died Thursday, January 18, 2007. born in Camden, he was the son of the late Harvey Robert and Nellie Arrants Davis. He attended the Clemson University and worked at DuPont for 21 years before opening Davis Enterprises. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 yrs, Nell V. Davis; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Jackie Davis of McCormick, and Larry and Cindy Davis of McCormick; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Gary Philpott of Littleton, Colo., and Lettye and Steve Oglevie of Burley, Idaho; brothers, Glen Davis and his wife, Billie of Camden, and Frank Davis and his wife, Glenda of Fayetteville, N.C.; sisters, Vera Brown and her husband, Walter of Sumter, and Janette Shiver of Camden; grandchildren, Amy and Lourie Wilson, Tony and Christen Davis, Kenneth and Leslie Davis, Michael Davis, Pamela Davis, Brodie and Mindy Philpott, Matt and Amanda Oglevie, Joshua Oglevie, Jacob Oglevie, and Faith Oglevie; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Davis Wilson, Payne Davis, and Carson Oglevie.

Mary Robinson. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Mary; daughter, Cheryl Fleming; son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Pamela Hudson; two step-sons, Richard Robinson, and William Hudson and his wife, Joanne; brother, Lloyd Fleming; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Brandon died Monday, January 01, 2007. born in Camden on September 3, 2006, he was the son of Brady Lance and Carly Darling Kirk.
Surviving are his parents; sisters, Morgan M. and Abigail E. Kirk of Gore, Va.; brother, William Anthony Lee Kirk of Elgin; maternal grandmother, Donna Darling of Elgin; paternal grandparents, Joetta Kirk of Winter Haven, Fla., and Jack A. and Jeannie Kirk of Cassatt; great-grandmothers, Emma Lou Johnson and Thelma Rabideau; and aunts and uncle, Christina Kirk, Stacey Pitts, Casey Darling, and Corey Grooms. He was predeceased by grandfather, Maurice Eugene Darling; and a great-grandfather, Hubert Robert Johnson.

George M. Glover, Jr

Mr. Glover died Thursday, December 21, 2006. born in Sumter, he was the son of the late George Marion Glover, Sr. and Bessie Rose Glover. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for DuPont from 1952-1984.
Mr. Glover was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the American Legion Post 17. He was for many years very active with the Lugoff-Elgin Band Club where he was known as the “Grandfather”. He enjoyed music and his records.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Eleanor K. Glover; sons, George M. Glover, III of Elgin, William L. “Bill” Glover and his wife, Linda of Camden, and Bryan “Lex” Glover of Lugoff; daughters, Connie G. Eubanks and her husband, Buster of Jefferson, and Gloria Dawn Patterson and her husband, Bill of Camden; grandchildren, William E. Glover, Erin Elizabeth Patterson, Anna Marie Patterson, Robin Eubanks, Kristy Bartlett, Ginger Caesar, and Greta McAvoy; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Craven, Riley Bartlett, Nicholas Caesar, Benjamin Caesar, and Molly McAvoy.
