LUGOFF - Graveside service for Tula P. Mize, 85, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lugoff First Baptist Church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rosewood Baptist Church, 2917 Rosewood Drive, Columbia, S.C. 29205. Powers Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Mize, wife of the late Woodson Mize, died Friday, December 15, 2006. born in Belmont, Miss., she was the daughter of the late George and Mattie Huskins Pruett. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed needlepoint and reading.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jack Turner of Lugoff; and grandchildren, Mitchell Turner, Brad Turner and his wife, Tammy, and Ashley Turner.
Gary Robert Knafelc

ELGIN - Funeral service with military honors for Gary R. Knafelc, Sr., 62, will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with to burial follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Union Baptist Gym Building Fund.
Mr. Knafelc died Wednesday, December 13, 2006. born in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late Josephine Knafelc. He retired from the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He was a warehouse supervisor for Capital Wine and Beverage. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Jane E. Knafelc; sons, Gary R. Knafelc, Jr., and his wife, Susan of Columbia, and Steven J. Knafelc and his wife, Shannon of Elgin; brothers, Dick Knafelc of Syracuse, N.Y., and Frank Knafelc of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Pauline of Okla., Josephine of Middleburg, N.Y., Gail, Linda, Carol, and Betty all of Syracuse, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Cody Wilson, William Knafelc, and Abby Knafelc. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Knafelc.
Judith J. Paciulan

CAMDEN - Funeral Mass for Judith J. Paciulan, 52, will be celebrated Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Farewell Prayers and Final Commendation will be in Quaker cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Walter M. Crow Animal Shelter.
Ms. Paciulan died Saturday, December 09, 2006. born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Stanley John and Sarah Rebecca Sandberg Paciulan. She was a nurse and worked for Sentinel OB/GYN. She was a former member of the Pilot Club of Camden and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Ms. Paciulan enjoyed cooking and traveling. She loved her family and her pets Button and Holly.
She is survived by her son, Brian John Tolbert of Camden; daughter, Brittany Joanne Tolbert of Camden; sisters, Vicki Sloan and her husband, Mike of Chapin, and Karen Paciulan of Camden; stepmother, Julia Paciulan of Sumter; niece, Becky H. Wilmes of Irmo; and a nephew, Jeff Herring of Columbia.

Mrs. Reynolds died Tuesday, December 05, 2006. born in Boise, Idaho, she was the daughter of Earl G. Rice and Janina P. Rice. She served in the United States Navy and is a graduate of Charis Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colo. She worked for Master Craft Industries for 20 years and was currently employed with Bagnal & Carroll Real Estate.
She was an awesome woman of God and attended the Living Stones Worship Center.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charles W. Reynolds; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Earl and Laura Reynolds of Lexington, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Lynn and John Phelan of Summerville; mother and father of Gerald, Missouri; sisters, Carol Knox of St. Louis, Missouri, and Beth Rice and her husband, Dan Mroz of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Earl Rice, Jr. of Dittmar, Missouri; grandchildren, Cameron, Andrew, Matthew, Jacob, Lydia, George, and Suzie; and a great-grandchild.
William Kelly

Mr. Kelly died Saturday, November 25, 2006. born in Camden, he was the son of the late George Haney “ Cap” Kelly and Zett Sheorn Kelly. He was a carpenter which he also enjoyed as a hobby. He enjoyed raising Game Roosters and taking care of his dog Ben. He attended DeKalb Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Lonell Anderson Kelly; son, Billy Kelly and his girlfriend, Elisa “Frog” Austin of Kershaw; daughter and son-in-law Patty and Francois Truesdale of Camden; brothers, Joe Kelly of Bishopville, J.B. Kelly of Kershaw, Carrol Kelly and his wife, Anita of Kershaw, and Purvis Kelly; sister, Fleta Jackson of Camden; grandchildren, Billy Joe Kelly, Dennis Kelly, Kelly Truesdale, and Adrian Horton; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Tara Kelly; and his loyal companion, “Ben”. He was predeceased by his brothers, Willard and Larry Kelly.

Mrs. Gross, died Monday, Novemeber 20, 2006. born in Orangeburg, she was the daughter of Jean Barrett Bair and the late Charles Henry Bair. She was a 1996 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and received her Associates Degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Sandhills Community Church where she was part of the church Praise Team.
Surviving are her husband of 9 years, Mike Gross; daughter, Laken Gross (5); mother of Heath Springs; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Mike Simpson of Cassatt; nephew, Andrew Louis of Cassatt; and niece, Shania Simpson of Cassatt.
Gordon W. Markham

Mr. Markham died Sunday, May 13, 2007. born in Elizabeth City, N.C., he was a son of the late James S. and Matilda Bateman Markham. He retired from the United States Army and received his associate degree in criminal justice from Midlands Technical College. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the IGA Bojangles Coffee Club.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Markham; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline M. and Kenny Blair of Elgin; grandson, Christopher Blair and his wife, Patricia of Columbia; granddaughter, Kimberly M. Blair of Elgin; sister, Alice Chambers of Elizabeth City, N.C.; sister-in-law, Eloise Ross of Elgin; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, T-Bug and T-Tom.

Mrs. Swails died Wednesday, May 09, 2007. born in Wadesboro, N.C., she was a daughter of Guy Webb Ratliff and Gladys Williamson Ratliff. A graduate of Wadesboro High School, she retired from First Palmetto Bank, Lugoff Branch. She loved caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed scrape booking and gardening.
She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she taught first and second grade Sunday school and was a member of the choir.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Roy E. Swails; mother and father of Wadesboro, N.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Paula Swails of Lugoff, and Derick and Michelle Swails of Lugoff; brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Cindy Ratliff of Wadesboro, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Johnny Martin of Wadesboro, N.C.; and grandchildren, Casey H. Swails, Katelyn A. Swails, and Hailey M. Swails.

Cecile died Thursday, May 3, 2007. born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late H.C. and Bonita Plessinger Massey. A graduate of Wadsworth High School and Lane County Vocational School, she worked for Standard Corporation as a planner and scheduler.
Cecile enjoyed painting, gardening, woodworking, mechanics, sewing and computers. She attended Lugoff Friendship Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John E. David; children, Kendra David of Lugoff, LeAnn Kitanic of Denver Colo., Shane David of Barberton, Ohio, and Brandy David of Canton, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Linda Massey of Creston, Ohio, and Carl and Diana Massey of Lugoff; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Don Wright of Huntsville, Ala., and Pamela Massey of Doyleston, Ohio; and 3 grandchildren.

Surviving are his brothers, Odell Bowen and his wife, Doris of Camden, and Gene Branham of Lugoff; and an uncle, Theodore Bowen of Hartsville.
