Lillie Mae Foster, 89, of 401 Holden Road, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the home of her daughter. She was the widow of Clyde Jennings Foster.
Mrs. Foster was a native of Spartanburg County and was a daughter of the late Guy Cleveland and Eva Mae Tucker Leonard. She worked for a number of years for Spartan Mills and was a member of Una First Freewill Baptist Church .
She is survived by Daughters: Shirley Tollison and Ruby Hickerson of Shreveport, LA; Barbara McCraw of Spartanburg, Brenda Cook of Texas and Jean Wyatt of Inman; Sons: Wilburn Foster of Una, Guy Foster of Inman and Wayne Foster of Shreveport, LA; Sister: Grace Crocker of Spartanburg; Brother: Newton Leonard of Shreveport, LA; Forty four grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March19, 2004 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Una First Freewill Baptist Church . Rev. Kenneth Cash, Rev. Mitchell Edge, and Rev. Everette Foster will officiate. Mrs. Foster will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens .
Pallbearers will be Fred Barbare, III, Kevin Stanley, Billy Wayne Tollison, Jeffrey Foster, Larry Foster, and Ned Davenport. The remainder of the grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will be at 401 Holden Road, Inman.

Linda Hunt McNaughton
born in Greenville, SC on Feb. 16, 1950
Departed on Jul. 25, 2004 and resided in Tallahassee, FL.
Linda Lee Hunt McNaughton, 54, wife of David A. McNaughton, passed away July 25, 2004 in Tallahassee, FL. born in Greenville, S.C., she was a daughter of Milton Hunt of Travelers Rest, and the late Evelyn McKinney Hunt.
Survivors, in addition to her husband and father, are a son, Alexander McNaughton, of Tallahassee, FL.and her mother-in-law in England. She was married
in Athens, GA, and lived in Stoke-on-Trent, England for sixteen years, and moved to Tallahassee, FL. in 2003. Her first husband, whom she met at Furman University, was killed in Vietnam. Mrs. McNaughton earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Furman, and her Master’s Degree in Art Education at the University of Georgia.
Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Center Hope Foundation, 2003 Centre Pointe Blvd., Tallahassee, FL. 32308.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Helen McKinney, 208 McElhaney Road, Travelers Rest, S.C. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest is in charge of arrangements.
Annie L. Alman
Spartanburg
Annie Lee Alman, 93, of Magnolia Place Nursing Home, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Willie Alman of Union County, where she lived for a number of years, and she was first married
to Lance Stephens, Sr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Alman was a native of Spartanburg County and was a daughter of the late George and Minnie McGraw McAbee. She was a homemaker and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter: Betty (husband, Ray) Miller of Boiling Springs; a son: Lance (wife, Alma Jean) Stevens of Boiling Springs. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive her. A sister, two brothers and a granddaughter predeceased her.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 o’clock until 2:00 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 o’clock on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Eggers Funeral Chapel. Rev. James Crocker and Rev. Scott Linnerud will officiate. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Betty Miller, 92 Sun Valley Drive, Boiling Springs.

Brigade Sgt. Major Wilton Oscar Byrd US Army Reserve Retired, 88, died July 30, 2004 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Ernest Caldwell Byrd, Sr. and Ophelia Bridwell Byrd. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific Theatre and retired from the Army Reserves after 30 years of service. Mr. Byrd was employed with the US Postal Service for over 30 years and after his retirement he worked for Lucas CAV Company for 12 years. He was a very active member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon and Department Director. He was still very active with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary Garren Byrd; a daughter, Judith Byrd Edwards and her husband, Eugene, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Lee Edwards, Dawn Threatt and her husband, Bart, and Glenn Edwards and his wife, Karen; two great-grandchild, Victoria Threatt and Kaitlin Threatt. He was preceded in death by a brother, E.C. Byrd, Jr.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Creek Baptist Church, 255 W. Mountain Creek Church Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service, from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence.
Laverne S. Gwinn
Laverne S. Gwinn, of 110 Lytle Street, died on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at her home. She was the wife of John W. Gwinn.
Mrs. Gwinn was a native of Spartanburg County and was a daughter of the late Stella Robbins Spencer and Mr. Spencer. She was retired from the Spartanburg County Auditor's Office. She was a member of Dove Assembly Church . She was a former member of Country Earl's Cloggers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters: Debra Taylor and Rhonda Anderson of Spartanburg; son: Randy Wiggins of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at Eggers Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery . Rev. Joe Mosley will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Keith Taylor, Tony Robbins, David Switzer, III, Gerald Forrester, Jimmy Kelly and Jamie Blanken.
The family will be at the residence.

Willie Albert Nelson, Sr., 81, of 202 Rangeview Circle died July 30, 2004 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. born in Laurens, SC, he was the son of the late James H. and Lorie Herbert Nelson and the husband of Mary Katherine Fox Nelson.
Mr. Nelson, who was a U.S. Navy Veteran, was retired from Abney Mills-Brandon Plant and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters Betty Ray (Tommy), Fran Nelson (Richard Nalley) of Greenville and Carolyn Holman of Greer; a son, Al Nelson (Jackie) of Anderson, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret M. Moss.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Graceland cemetery, West.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family is at the residence.

Christopher Marcus McGee, 24 of 1543 Park Road, Fountain Inn, died on July 30, 2004.
born in Greenville, he was a son of Cathy Robinson and Timothy McGee.
Surviving are both parents, Cathy and Eugene Robinson of Simpsonville; Timothy and Rebecca McGee, Sr. of Duncan; one sister, Amanda Robinson of Simpsonville; three brothers, Timothy McGee II, W. Marcus McGee and Michael Stewart all of Duncan; maternal grandmother, Norma Wilburn of Fountain Inn; paternal grandmother, Lila D. McGee of Greenville; best friend, Heather Robertson of Fountain Inn.
Memorials may be made to the Christopher Marcus McGee Foundation, 231 Gantt Court, Duncan, SC 29334.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes.

Sandra Wright Patterson, 61, formerly of Anderson Road, died August 1, 2004 at Westside Nursing Center.
born in West Point, GA, she was a daughter of the late Zackery and Frances Yates Wright. Before her retirement, she was employed with Judson Mill. Mrs. Patterson was a member of Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, William G. Patterson; two daughters, Deborah Nalley of Greenville, Melissa Tilman and her husband, Carter, of Pelzer; two sons, Donald Patterson and his wife, Susanne, of Greenville, Tim Patterson and his wife, Theresa, of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Shan Sanchez and her husband, Jose, Neal Nalley, Stephanie Ledbetter and her husband Dale, Kim Patterson, Jennifer Nalley, Donald Patterson, Jr., Colt Tilman, Ashley Patterson, Courtney Tilman; two step-grandchildren; Chad Steen and Robbie Steen; and was looking forward to the birth of her first two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Bowen and her husband, Kenny, of Alabama, Joan Ferguson and her husband, Ray, of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Graceland cemetery, West. The family is at 2745 Anderson Road # 14.
