Weyman C. Griffin

Weyman C. Griffin, 79, of 164 Fairview Church Road, died Friday, February 20 2004 in Upstate Carolina Medical Center . A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Ruth Ezell Griffin and a son of the late Jesse and Celia Stephens Griffin. He was a retired employee of Bob Ledford R.V. World.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Traci Strickland of Roswell, Ga; two step-daughters, Jeanette Bishop and Patricia Goode both of Mayo; two step-sons, J.B. Ezell of Chesnee, Bill Ezell of Spartanburg; one sister, Voncile Levy of Roswell, GA; a brother Hershell Griffin of Roswell, GA; nineteen grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 22, 2004 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 in Springhill Memorial Gardens conducted by Dr. Charles Garrett. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family is at the home 164 Fairview Church Road and at the home of his step-daughter, Jeanette Bishop, 561 Corn Mill Rd., Mayo.

born in Greenville, he was the son of the late John Henry and Lula Ethel Clark Raines. He was twice married
, first to the late Helen Singleton Raines and second to Mildred Jones Raines of the home.
Reverend Raines was a retired Baptist minister and Pastored churches in Westminster, Walhalla, Seneca, Blacksburg, and Jasper County. He was a graduate of Furman University and attended Erskine Theological Seminary.
He was a WWII United States Army Veteran having served in the European Theater and received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. He was a member of Laurel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Jane Jones of Greenwood; two sons, Paul Raines of West Union and Alan C. Raines of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Melda Renee Jones of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Melvin G. Raines of Greenville; two grandchildren, Chris Raines of Blacksburg and, Katie McCarty of Greenwood; and three great grandchildren, Will Raines, Alex Raines, and Gracee McCarty.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 03, 2004 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be Wednesday August 04, 2004 at 1:30 PM in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Grandview cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Laurel Baptist Church, 2331 Laurens Road, Greenville.

Robert Allen Gaboriault

Robert Allen Gaboriault (Bob/Gabby), passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2004, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center due to complications from recent surgery.
Mr. Gaboriault was born in Colchester, Vermont on October 20, 1947. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Marjorie (Osborne) Gaboriault. He leaves behind a wife, Francine (Patnaude) of 37 years who was also his high school sweetheart. Also, his two sons, Robert Paul Gaboriault and his wife, Kristin (Wills) Gaboriault of Lexington, South Carolina, James Michael Gaboriault and his wife Colleen (O’Meara) Gaboriault of Simpsonville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, J.R. Brianna and Erin Gaboriault of Simpsonville, SC, Josh and Justin Gaboriault of Lexington, SC; and two special friends, Kevin and Courtney Lempke of Simpsonville, SC.
Bob is predeceased by both his parents, Wilfred Paul Gaboriault (1963) and Marjorie Wernert (2000); a sister, Barbara Jean (1945) and a brother Bernard Gaboriault (1993). His surviving siblings are David and his wife, Esther Gaboriault of St. Cloud, Florida, Roger Gaboriault of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steve Gaboriault of Colchester, Vermont.Maryann and her husband, David Elkins of Colchester, Vermont, Randy and his wife, Debbie Gaboriault of Vergennes, VT. Bruce and his wife, Nancy Gaboriault of Grand Isle, VT, Bryon Gaboriault of Plattsburg, NY. Many nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
Bob recently retired from GE after 36 yeas of service. Bob graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1966 in Essex Junction, Vermont. He was a graduate of the GE Apprentice Program and the GE TCP Program and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont. Bob was involved in many athletic organizations in Vermont. He initiated the organizing of Little League for the South Burlington Youth Baseball Association which he was president and coach for several years. He was hockey coach for 15 years for the elite teams: South Burlington Jets and then the Chittenden-South Burlington Youth Hockey Association.
Bob was with the 131st Engineers and served in Vietnam. He did volunteer work in Greenville for Meals on Wheels; both he and Fran worked together with Habitat for Humanity with St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Bob was an avid golfer and will be missed by all his golf buddies at Holly Tree Country Club and Hejaz.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be in Grand Isle cemetery, Grand Isle, Vermont. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdelene Church.

Mrs. Horvath was a retired manager from JC Penney Hair Styling Salon and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Kevin Daly of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Susan Horvath of Fairview, MI; two sisters, June Gergely and Rosemary Patterson both of Michigan; three brothers, Chloran Gibson of Michigan, Jimmie Lee Gibson and Ronald Gibson both of Florida; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Nathan, and Tara Daly and Julie Horvath; three great grandchildren, Sage Daly, Jamie Freeman, and Chelsea Bowers.

Fredia Nadine Greene, 53, of 896 Battleground Road, died Thursday, February 5, 2004 in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the wife of George W. Greene of the home and a daughter of the late James Wallace and Naomi Hughey Champion. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker and member of Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church .
She is survived by a daughter, Melanie Greene of Chesnee; two sons, Josh Greene of Mayo, George Greene, Jr. of the home; two sisters, Arlene Carlton of Mayo, Mary Collins of Chester; one brother, Bill Wiley of Laurens; and one grandchild Morgan Greene of Mayo.

Gene retired from U.S. Air Force where he served as a Plant Operator.
