Charles Wiley 'Charlie' Young, 67, of 802 Standing Springs Road, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at his residence.
Loving husband of Doris Griffith Young for 36 years, he was born in Greenville a son of the late Charles Newby Young and Virginia Williams Hester.
A US Navy veteran, Mr. Young was a retired employee of Carolina Freight ABF and a truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 28, a member of City View First Baptist Church and the Truett Fidilas Sunday School Class. He was actively involved in the Tape Ministry of the church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Eric N. Young and Chuck Young, both of Greenville, and Jerry L. Young of Liberty; daughter, Terrie Turner of Greenville; brothers, Robert. N. 'Bob' Young and his wife, Judy, of Greenville and Terrence L. Young, also of Greenville; and brother-in-law, Ken Griffith and his wife, Rosy, of Simpsonville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at City View First Baptist Church, with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the residence.

Peggy Ann Shell Moore, 81, of 43 East Circle Avenue, died August 13 at St. Francis Hospital.
born in Harnett County, NC on June 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry Otis Shell and Mae Benson Shell Langston and is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elvin M. Moore, Jr. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, active in the Ruth Poole Circle, the Welcome Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Fellowship. Her life was centered around home, her husband, children and grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Ron Moore and his wife, Mary Jane, and Don Moore and his wife, Terri, all of Greenville; one granddaughter, Rebecca Moore Leach of Richmond, VA; four grandsons, Brad Moore, Russ Moore, Matt Moore, and Andrew Moore, all of Greenville; and one great-granddaughter, Kira Leach of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Evelyn Burts of Spartanburg and Sadie Brosche of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by a half sister, Palmyra Powell and her stepfather, Lawton Langston.

Catherine P. Roncevich

Catherine P. Roncevich, 93, of Sterling House in Greenville, entered peacefully into eternal life on August 11, 2004. Catherine devoted her life to her family; she was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister.
Mrs. Roncevich was born in Philadelphia on May 21, 1911 to the late Anton Pekich and Elizabeth Hromcho. She lived in the Philadelphia area for over 60 years before moving to Greenville, SC in 1976. She shared her bright smile, loving disposition, generous spirit, and incomparable cooking abilities with anyone fortunate enough to have known her. Catherine lived her rich and full life guided by a firm faith. She recognized every blessing that came her family's way with a sincere 'God has been good to us.'
She is survived by her son, John E. Roncevich and wife, Maureen of Greenville; and her daughter, Joan R. Clements and her husband, Jack, of Aiken. Mrs. Roncevich or 'Grammy' was truly adored by her grandchildren: Sharon Baxter and husband, Lawrence; Susan Siragusa and husband, Joseph; John Roncevich, Jr. and wife, Amanda; Maureen Hall and husband, Andre', all of Charlotte, NC; Christopher Clements and wife, Jennifer of Augusta, GA; Anne Hinek; Ruth Greer and husband, Kevin; Brian Clements and wife Kathleen, all of Virginia and Amanda Butler and husband, John, of Maryland. Also surviving her are eleven great-grandchildren in Charlotte, NC; a sister in Montana; a brother in New Jersey, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by and is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband and best friend of 67 years, Emil J. Roncevich; her youngest grandson, Michael J. Roncevich, three sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends from12:45 until 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors, SC. The Mass of Christian burial will follow at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Graceland East Memorial Park in Simpsonville.

Rubye Lindsey Malone Gaddis
Mrs. Rubye Lindsey Malone Gaddis, 74, of 111 Camp Street, died on Monday, February 9, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center . She was the wife of Richard Gaddis.
Mrs. Malone was a native of Spartanburg County and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Marie Horton Johnson. She was retired from Butte Knit after over 20 years of service. She was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church .
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters: Debbie Lawter of Boiling Springs and Donna Smith of Converse, SC; one sister: Louise Lindsey of Inman. Six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive her. A daughter predeceased her: Janet Humphries.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Green Point Baptist Church . Rev. Bo Dumford and Rev. David Lancaster will officiate. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens .

Edna Mildred Cooper Martin, 90, of 207 Piedmont Park Rd., died August 15, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital.
She was the widow of Andrew (Red) Martin and the daughter of the late Homer F. and Maggie Lee Cooper. Mrs. Martin was formerly employed with Myers Arnold Department Store and a faithful member of Piedmont Park Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Norman Rainey of Greenville; one sister, Francis Lister of Greenville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lamar and Michelle Martin, Randy and Elsie Martin, Scott and Kelly Martin, Eric and Diane Rainey, Lee Ann and Tom Brooks, and Lynn and Ronnie Hinton, all of Greenville; 12 great-grandchildren; Courtney Weatherford, Heather Martin, Carolyne and Blake Martin, Sidney Gilliam, Hannah O'Sheal, Michael, Emily and Alyson Rainey, Kyler, Bryce, and Dallas Hinton; two great-great-grandchildren, Christian Allen Timbol and Sarah Ann Weatherford. She was preceded in death by two sons, Capt. Ronald Martin and Arvin Lee Martin.

Glenda Faye Smith Horton, 57, of 104 Whaley Drive, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2004.
She was the wife of Larry K. Horton; and a daughter of the late Herbert and Nannie Smith. She is survived by one sister, Brenda Gilliard and her husband Joe of Greenville; two brothers, Fred Sprouse of Pickens, Joe Smith and his wife Donna of Greenville; two nieces Kelley Anderson and husband Don of Easley; Lynn Quinn and her husband Vince of Greenville; two nephews, Brett Buckhiester of Easley and Clayton Quinn of Greenville; special loving pet, Coco.
Visitation will be held today from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the service. Robert S. Tiedeman, 92, formerly of Waddell Road, died August 14, 2004, at Rolling Green Village.
born in Charleston, SC, Mr. Tiedeman graduated from Furman University in 1933. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and taught high school in Iva, Gray Court, Seneca and Greenville. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of the Greenville Lions Club for 66 years, and was a member of the Gray Court Schroder Masonic Lodge #144. He served on the board of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.
Mr. Tiedeman is survived by his wife, Wilma Patterson Tiedeman; a stepdaughter, Sharon Stanley of Spartanburg; a stepson, Fred S. Maus of Campobello; a sister, Mary Cole of Memphis, TN; and four grandchildren, Michael and Brittany Maus, and Joshua and Kyle Stanley. He was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Malone Tiedeman and a brother, F. King Tiedeman.

Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She loved square dancing, crossword puzzles, writing and sharing poetry with others, and was an avid reader. She was a loving mother and was known by her grandchildren as 'Laine' and by her great grandchildren as 'Big E'.
Survivors include; a daughter, Ann Jackson Cathey and her husband David of Fayetteville, GA; two sons, Robert L. Jackson and his wife Carolyn Travis Jackson of Greenville, Ray Jackson and his wife Millie of Greenville; four sisters, Mildred Wood, Catherine Rice, Frances Young, and Nancy Pruitt all of Greenville, a brother, Hugh Wood of Greenville; four grandchildren, Lee Jackson Duncan, Bobby Jackson, Joe Jackson, and Travis Jackson; two step grandchildren, Kelli Anderson and Matt Cathey six great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and her mother in law, Elizabeth Garrett Jackson of Greenville. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Wood and several half brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday August 17, 2004 from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 18, 2004 at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland West cemetery.
